KrisG184 releases new EP record, 'Funky Dance Sessions'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The composer and performer of music known as KrisG184 has released his latest and greatest EP record, titled, “Funky Dance Sessions.” The album is comprised of six tracks for a whopping two and a half hours' worth of music listening, making for a remarkably comprehensive treatment of KrisG184 material. It is only an extended-play release by the relatively small number of tracks, themselves, though the longest of them spans nearly 40 minutes, the shortest of them, 10.

The new album has passionately inspired titles such as “Eternallove,” Lovelovelove,” Makelovegood,” and “Loverape,” and is book-ended by “Cryptic” and “Etm.” They are the most significant releases from KrisG184 since his “2.30am” release in July of this year. While that song featured jazzy brass on top of KrisG's signature house music beats, “Funky Dance Sessions” is populated mostly by his DJ skills as a mix master and rhythm man. Its title is entirely appropriate.

KrisG184 (AKA Kris Grayer) cites as main artistic influences David Guetta, Carl Cox, and Pete Tong. He has been mixing music for more than a decade, having begun his music career using turntables in the traditional style. He was awarded a position at Julliard School of Music in New York to study music technology before he was 20 years old. Having left school to pursue a career in bass trombone, he has worked with both Elton John and Adele, and recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios with the London Symphony Orchestra. Venues at which he has performed included many of the most famous in existence, including England’s Wembley Stadium for a crowd of 90,000, the Netherlands’ Amsterdam Arena for 45,000, and England’s Royal Albert Hall (with Adele).

KrisG184 is originally from Kansas City, MO, but moved to New York after the tragic murder of his father. KrisG184 spent a hard five years on the streets, mingling with rappers and other musicians who influenced his sound before winning his spot at Julliard and going on to become a professional musician.
KrisG has been noted for saying, “[My music] is about how precious life is, and why everyone must enjoy themselves as much as possible because good times won’t last forever.” With regard to “Funky Dance Sessions,” he writes that its message to the listening public is, “Get out there and party hard.”
“Funky Dance Sessions” by KrisG184 is available online worldwide beginning late September, 2013.

Failure Theory releases new LP 'The Fragile Life of Rigidity'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The music artist known as Failure Theory has released his latest LP record album, titled, “The Fragile Life of Rigidity.” The album is comprised of eight original tracks for an approximate total listening time of half an hour. A gritty, grinding and raw collection of the latest Failure Theory material, “The Fragile Life of Rigidity” is a sonic exploration of human limitations and the extremities to which frustrations can lead.

Failure Theory cites as main artistic influences Andy Wallace, Ani DiFranco, and Nine Inch Nails. “The Fragile Life of Rigidity” boasts vocal stylizing with certain attributes that recall Trent Reznor, and has spare and unforgiving guitar licks that would make Ani DiFranco proud. Yet, Failure Theory has a sound all his own, and comparisons stray further from the listening experience than they actually describe it.

The tone of the record is wrapped in its title. When asked to describe how he originally became involved in music, Failure Theory writes, “Don’t really feel like I ever did.”

Asked to comment on any message or meaning the record may have in store for fans, he speaks candidly.

“I don’t know if there is a message,” he says. “It’s really more of a reflection on repeated failure in every facet of life and the accompanying range of emotions.”

Failure Theory's official bio explains this perceived “repeated failure” in detail.

“I was born with all the advantages of a suburban white kid from a slightly below middle class family,” the bio reads. “The only thing those advantages have ever produced are failure.” It goes on to say that the only thing that makes FT feel “real” is “the sound of well mixed music. The guitars are hypnotic. Rage inducing. Peace-giving. I think great mixing engineers are the greatest musical artists of our time (I wish I were one of them). They paint with sound.”

As a child, Failure Theory was told by his father that he “sucked” at guitar. He describes his social skills as fundamentally lacking.

“I don’t deal with many other people very well,” he writes. “I don’t seem to value the things other people value. An acquaintance once told me that I was a nihilist in the worst kind of way.”

Failure Theory has been recording his own music for years. He has written and recorded two previous records, each one better than the last, yet still sub-par by his own estimation.

“[The second album] was better,” he writes, “in the way dying in a car crash is probably better than dying from cancer. You know it is, but who really gives a s--t.”

Failure Theory has tried to quit music entirely on several occasions, but cannot seem to make the no-sound diet stick, either. In the meantime, he became an attorney at law. Disillusioned at the utter lack of positions in his field after graduation, his aggravations mounted and another album loomed in his imagination.

“And there it was,” his bio concludes. “That sound. It started in my head again. . . The obsessing started again. 'I’ll just record some covers,' I said. Before I knew it, I was knee deep in another 'album.'”

The record would grow to become “The Fragile Life of Rigidity.”

“It’s different:” Failure Theory concludes, “because it’s a little better. It’s the same: because it still sucks. I guess you are what you are. I am a quitter. A quitter that cannot quit. It’s sad. It’s old. It's melodramatic. It’s me.”

“The Fragile Life of Rigidity” by Failure Theory is available online worldwide.

Rex Ivy releases new Christmas album, 'Santa's Calling'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The ever-changing, multifaceted musicians known as Rex Ivy and Moot Booxle have released their infinitely colorful Christmas record, titled, “Santa's Calling.” The album is populated with most of the traditional standard songs the English-speaking world loves to hear during the Christmas season, and as is usual for Ivy and Booxle, these songs have been arranged and performed in the absolute least standard way imaginable – and are all the better for the treatment. The album is expected to drop in late September of this year (2013).

Listeners unacquainted with the Rex Ivy experience need only to hear his “12 Days of Christmas” to know how very varied his styles can be. His vocals range from Louis Armstrong's growl to Elvis Presley's drawl, and from a Sinatra swing to a hayseed twang. Ivy and Booxle play in every tone and timbre of the musical rainbow, and “Santa's Calling” is no exception. Their jumping rendition of “Silent Night” is part dixieland jazz, part 1920s-era jitterbug. It is impossible to intuit or detect that the same two artists are the arrangers and performers of all this music from track to track.

This is in keeping with the growing Rex Ivy tradition. Their seasonal record, “Santa's Calling,” comes hot on the heels of his and Booxle's LP record released last spring, “Mood Swings,” which was the proper introduction of many music fans to this remarkably dynamic duo. Speaking now of their new album, Ivy writes:

“With 'Santa's Calling,' we set out to create a truly unique and original take on traditional Christmas music, as well as some new, original music that conveys the true spirit and meaning of Christmas.”

While there is certainly a fair amount of good humor in music from Ivy and Booxle, it should not be presumed that no Rex Ivy music is in a serious vein; indeed, Ivy is very capable of penning and performing earnestly from the heart, and much of “Santa's Calling” is music to genuinely stoke the warm hearth fires of holiday goodwill worldwide.

“Santa's Calling” by Rex Ivy is available online worldwide beginning late September, 2013. Be sure to experience the groove and fun of Rex Ivy's “Mood Swings,” also.

Tje Austin re-releases debut LP record, 'Love Me Knots'

- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The singer and songwriter known as Tje Austin (pronounced Tye) has re-released his 2008 debut LP record album, titled, “Love Me Knots.” The album is comprised of 11 songs for an approximate total listening time of nearly 40 minutes. It has been published on the ever-growing Browns Town Music LLC record label. It is the most significant release from Austin since his 12-track “Dreamin' Big” album, which was officially released in 2012 on Browns Town Music.

Austin himself is from Austin, Texas, though his style does not bear many of the earmarks of music from that particular region, which is largely dominated by eclectic indie rock and alternative bands. His acoustic guitar work and gentle tone and timbre are reminiscent of artists such as Jack Johnson, Ben Harper or Matt Costa. His music is genuine, heartfelt, and vibrant with character and humanity. “Love Me Knots” is a record that can be played in almost any imaginable circumstance and seem appropriate. It is accessible to fans of any music genre, and is as popular with children as it is with adults.

Tje Austin's career has been bolstered by his new association with Rudy Jones, award-winning recording engineer and co-founder of Browns Town Music. Austin has since appeared on NBC’s popular television program, “The Voice,” and has opened for such Grammy award nominees as Anthony David, Dwele and Trey Songz. He is a tireless performer, playing scores of shows every season.

He was one of the featured artists on “Texas on Tour,” and performed the National Anthem for the 2010 American League champion baseball team, the Texas Rangers. He has singles in rotation on various satellite radio stations and a third, seven-song record, “Xperience,” published worldwide in 2010. His fan base is exceptionally enormous, with a burgeoning number of followers online. His MySpace page has logged more than three million visits, and his YouTube presence looms large.

ZibraZibra release new LP 'Mr. Synthetic'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The Minnesota synth rock crew known as ZibraZibra have officially pre-released their long-awaited LP record, “Mr. Synthetic.” The album is comprised of nine all-new original tracks from ZibraZibra on the Royalty Etc. Records music label, and is the followup album to their two existing LPs, “The End of the Lion” and “777.” ZibraZibra are celebrating this pre-release of “Mr. Synthetic” by offering a very limited edition vinyl LP record in “hott” pink. The following details are faithfully reproduced as they appear on the official ZibraZibra website at zibrazibra.com.

“Mr. Synthetic LP

HOTT PINK 180-gram 12" Vinyl.
Mastered from 96k/24bit source files.
Limited pressing of 500.

Pre-order includes immediate download of 2 tracks in your choice of high-quality MP3, FLAC, or other formats. A link to the complete album will be emailed to you the moment it’s released.”

Audiophiles unfamiliar with the tone and feel of ZibraZibra have a rare treat in store. ZibraZibra have an upbeat, synth-pop sound that is all their own, but which comes in a seemingly endless array of shades like the varying colors of a chameleon. Their extreme talent and elasticity sometimes recalls the style of Prince and sometimes Queen, sometimes Devo and sometimes DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. Their lyrics are ingenious, ridiculous, and hilarious. Their beats are solid and syncopated, their guitars top-notch '80s fare, their synthesizers every bit as candy-coated good as synth ever was.

ZibraZibra cite as main artistic influences “Miley, Britney, Beyonce, and Paft Punk,” which is almost certainly yet another glimpse of their irrepressible senses of humor. Likewise, upon being asked to describe any theme or message their new LP, “Mr. Synthetic” might communicate, they reply:

“Girrrrrrrl, you ain't never gonna get whatchu want lookin' like a troll. Leave your busted-ass pajama pants at home, get your lip gloss poppin', and dare to be pretty.”

This, however, is not an entirely tongue-in-cheek response, as their closing track on the record is indeed a rocking anthem of vanity titled, “Dare 2 B Pretty.”

“Mr. Synthetic” is available worldwide on limited edition “hott” pink 180-gram vinyl from ZibraZibra.com now. Get in early.

DJ Smile releases new LP record, 'Something About the “Ray”'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The Florida rap artist known internationally as DJ Smile has released his latest official LP record album, titled, “Something About the 'Ray.'” The album is comprised of 10 all new, original tracks by DJ Smile and friends for an approximate total listening time of 40 minutes. “Something About the 'Ray'” by DJ Smile has been released on the Smile Baby Music record label.

In addition to the ample and entirely impressive talents of DJ Smile, himself, “Something About the 'Ray'” is also graced by a parade of other featured music artists, such as Gabriala Grisby, Tamara Wallace, Blessed, and Mr. Smooth. These featured musicians add a slough of excellent attributes to what would otherwise be an exceptional hip-hop record in its own right, making “Something About the 'Ray'” one of the year's best-produced LPs in the genre so far.

“Something About the 'Ray'” gets its title from Delray Beach, Florida, which is where both DJ Smile and Smile Baby Music call home. The record has an old-school, traditional hip-hop feel with a great deal of funk and groove, gorgeous female harmonies, and beats that are sometimes reminiscent of Parliament Funkadelic, sometimes like Slick Rick, and sometimes even baring slight resemblances to Deee-Lite. Regardless of one's personal likes and dislikes in the broad, sprawling realm of hip-hop music, however, “Something About the 'Ray'” is easily the most fun, accessible and danceable record to be released in many months, perhaps even years.

What is more, it also manages to be mature, interesting and catchy music without much use of the seemingly ubiquitous “Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics” sticker that plagues the hip-hop category from top to bottom, making it fabulous listening whether the kids are in the car or not. (There is one explicit track, however the record contains a radio-friendly version of this also.) All in all, “Something About the 'Ray'” is a standout record and a true achievement from DJ Smile and his little record label in Florida, one that very much deserves a listen from anyone who ever liked a hip-hop song by anyone, ever. Get in early.

Melissa Otero releases new LP 'Angels and Demons'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The chanteuse known as Melissa Otero has released her latest LP record album, “Angels and Demons” to critical and fan acclaim both at home and abroad. The album is comprised of eleven original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 40 minutes. It has been released on the same Divine Spell Music Group record label that was founded by Otero herself in 2002, and which published her debut LP record, “My Spirit,” in 2008. “Angels and Demons” is the long-awaited second full-length record from Otero since “My Spirit.”

Otero cites as main musical influences artists with a big, epic sound and soaring vocals, such as Kelly Clarkson, Coldplay, Celine Dion, Sarah McLachlan, and One Republic. Intuitively, Otero's own style fits with these legends of the stage as well. Her hit video for the title track of her new album, “Angels and Demons,” showcases her as a powerful female vocalist with equal parts femininity and passion. Her themes are often personal, always stirring, and dealt with in a poetic, flowing style of phrasing.

Speaking of the meanings and interpretations of “Angels and Demons,” Otero writes, “The title track speaks of inner struggles, and the entire album is comprised of the different emotions we go through as we live. The album took four years to create, thus making it four years of emotional ups and downs in my life. From my angels (happier tunes) to my demons (darker, sadder tunes), I want the listener to find music in my album that describes how they feel at any given moment.”

Suitably, her record encompasses the broad range and scope of these feelings, and her vocal delivery is palpably genuine and sympathetic.

Having been born in New Jersey and raised in Puerto Rico, Otero pays homage to her dual heritage by singing both in Spanish and in English. Her first single, “My First Everything” rose to #1 for two consecutive weeks on Hot 96FM in Portland, Oregon. She released a Spanish version of the song, “Mi Primer Amor,” on her first EP, which garnered over 500 downloads in it’s first few weeks in Columbia.
Her debut LP, “My Spirit” received massive radio airplay in Western Europe, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US. She has since toured the US, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

She is one of the first independent artists to release an official music video on VEVO, and it has been viewed a many thousands of times. Her “Angels and Demons” single was released on the Rock Band® Network as the 4,001st song on their roster. It was also featured on the Lifetime reality show, “Dance Moms,” where it was featured on their third season premier with 2.8 million viewers, the show's highest rating to date. It was most recently featured in Denver, Colorado's In10City Dance Competition.

“Angels and Demons” by Melissa Otero is available online worldwide beginning 24 September 2013.

Nash Vulgas releases new EP 'Nash Vulgas and the Neon Cowpokes: Banned from the Grand Old Opree'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The singing and songwriting troupe of scoundrels known as Nash Vulgas and the Neon Cowpokes have released their latest EP record album, “Nash Vulgas and the Neon Cowpokes: Banned from the Grand Old Opree.” The EP is comprised of four originals penned and performed by Nash Vulgas and Co., including the title single, “Banned from the Grand Old Opree,” their flagship closing single, “Tavern Wench,” the bizarre ballad, “One-Eyed Saggy Jane,” and “Sex on the Farm,” which features the highly conspicuous talents of NuNu.

The record does not so much cross genres as it does invent an entirely new one for itself, a genre of exactly one, which includes elements of rock, western, rockabilly, European house music and yet more. Moreover, it is a record that tells the remarkable story of Nash Vulgas (nee Vegas), his rise and fall from country music fame and resultant exodus to the wild nightclubs of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Richard Allen, a collaborator and spokesperson for Vulgas himself, writes:

“'Nash Vulgas and the Neon Cowpokes: Banned from the Grand Old Opree' tells the fortune to failure story of Nash Vegas, who plummeted from the heights of country music stardom into a world of sin and degradation that twisted and molded him into the true artistic genius that he is today. Like him or hate him, he’s one of a kind.”

The official bio of Nash Vulgas seems based more on folklore and hearsay than on verifiable fact, but several truths can be gleaned by cross-referencing the document with other shreds of journalism from both American and European sources. He was apparently “born to a poor family of pedophile Christian cultists in the mountains of Tennessee,” but “escaped the cult at an extremely early age. He was perhaps as young as eight when he was discovered, shoeless in December snow, playing his music on a broken guitar in front of what he thought was a church.”

The “church” was actually the country music landmark called the Grand Ole Opry [spellings differ]. A local paper tells that “as patrons left the Opree that night, they were treated to a performance on its steps that made them think an angel had broken its wing and fallen to earth. He was adopted by the country music community as one of their own and quickly became one of the youngest country music stars in history.”

“Nash Vegas became country music’s golden boy,” by Allen's account, “winning award after award; being placed on magazine covers around the globe. He seemed like a man who was comfortable and happy with his fame and fortune, but those who knew him well at the time know there was a sadness – an emptiness – a darkness that drove him to drink, sometimes like a madman.”

On one such occasion as this, Vegas arrived late to an appearance at the Grand Ole Opry and was rushed onstage before anyone realized what a state he was in. The next morning Nashville headlines ran, “Country music industry in shock, Nash Vegas expelled from Opry.”

Onlookers later described the performance as “bordering on pornographic,” and one reporter unprofessionally suggested that Vegas should change his name to “Vulgas,” a rash step that the performer immediately took.

Vulgas' music contract was canceled, his tenure at the Opry eliminated, and as Allen tells it, “Nash spent the next years soul searching, wandering the dark streets from one seedy town to another and from one seedy tavern to another, until he realized he had traveled as far as Amsterdam. The dark side of life in Amsterdam suited him and his music was corrupted by its influence. Always writing and always singing his songs to himself, Nash Vulgas concocted his own strange version of country music with tales of one-eyed biker women and twisted sex, and prepared for a comeback.”

Snippets of an audio cassette containing previously unreleased interview material were recently published anonymously online. Only two Q-and-A portions survive in their entirety.

Interviewer: How did you start getting involved in music, Mr. Vulgas?

Vulgas: That would be Christmas of 1971, when my cousin Rosco raped me with a pair of drumsticks he got as a present.

Interviewer: Please list some of your artistic influences.

Vulgas: Beer, weed, porn… A milking machine…

Weka releases new extended-play album, 'EP 1'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The artist known as Weka has released his latest EP album, titled, “EP1.” The record is comprised of six original tracks for a total listening time of approximately 25 minutes. It is the most significant official release from Weka to date and represents the most round introduction to his music the listening world has heard thus far.

Weka's music is calming, soothing, and intellectual, masculine in tone and full of deep groove. His sonic flavor has roots in many different locales around the world, such as Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East. His music has been compared to that of Module, Rhian Sheehan, Bonobo and Massive Attack, and his widely varied sound indeed contains attributes of all four. In addition to these, Weka cites as main artistic influences the work of the Chemical Brothers, Nightmares on Wax, Lemon Jelly, Thievery Corporation, Air, Zero 7, Groove Armada, and Unkle.

While his music makes first and foremost for very relaxing and intriguing listening, it is also an obvious and well-communicated labor of love. His sounds seem to transmit humanitarianism in their styles alone, without the aid of what samples in English have been applied. Speaking of the themes of his new EP, Weka speaks candidly and directly about each track in particular.

“'Seeking Silence' and 'Interlude' both share a message of humanity,” he writes. “We need to unite as one species in order to survive. Selfishness, violence and greed have taken over, and I’m trying to advocate a return to the principles of peace, love and inclusiveness.”

His artistic principles in terms of orchestration and composition are likewise uncompromised. He discusses his use of musical styles from various nations to demonstrate how different cultures can cooperate to make something beautiful.

“'Frequency Shift' and 'Distant Feeling,'” Weka writes, “both draw from various world music elements… I guess it tries to be an example of the validity of all forms of music, and how seemingly disparate elements can be brought together in harmony.”

Weka is also a member of the award winning group The Interrupt Collective, who specialize in creating interactive audio-visual installations that have been and are exhibited around the world.

Percy and the Gunslingers release new single, 'Andrew'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The Los Angeles pop-folk crew known as Percy and the Gunslingers have released their definitive new single, “Andrew.” The single has been published alongside two other official Percy and the Gunslingers releases, “Gunslinger Shuffle” and “Magnetic Metal.” The trio represents the most significant clutch of songs produced by this remarkable group to date, and is an exceptional introduction to one of the most intriguing and delightful music acts performing today.

The sound of Percy and the Gunslingers is somewhere between classic rock, blues, and western-themed folk music. It has been variously categorized as rock, alt rock, classic rock, country, folk, folk rock, indie, indie pop, and pop. The band themselves have described their music as, “If Feist, Beach House, and Fleetwood Mac had a glorious love child...” This sonic chimera is not at all far from the actual sound, though the experience is much more effective firsthand.

Their music is melodic, harmonic, and highly lyrical, providing country-western-style narratives from track to track that are inventive, colorful, and fun. These stories, penned by singer Ali Mills, are weaved into the music so tightly as to become interdependent with it, and the tales braid together so that a cohesive environment for their tunes is set. This provides an imaginary, yet almost palpable stage on which their performance takes place in the listener's mind. Their vocals are exceptionally feminine, their guitars decidedly masculine, and their percussion is warm, natural, and gorgeously straightforward.

The group cite as main artistic influences a gigantic list of legends that spans the decades: Fleetwood Mac, Beach House, Jenny Lewis, The Like, Fleet Foxes, Fat City Reprise, Feist, Portugal the Man, Arcade Fire, Fool's Gold, Blake Mills, Grizzly Bear, Radiohead, The Walkmen, Band of Horses, Haim, The Dead Weather, Dawes, Warpaint, Moondoggies, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Mowglis, Terraplane Sun, Tom Petty, New Orleans Jazz, Lucinda Williams, Jesca Hoop, and Paul McCartney.

They are headed by the singer, songwriter and front-woman Mills, whose original idea became the inception of the band as a whole. Mills is joined by Eric David of the David Brothers and Stampead, as well as by Frankie Pedano of Fat City Reprise. Friends Nikki Kilker, Jon Stipp, Timmy Sean and Jon Manness round out the lineup.

Krazy Horse da One releases new LP, 'Sometimes they Comeback'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The rapper of experimental, hardcore hip-hop music known as Krazy Horse da One has released his latest LP record album, “Sometimes they Comeback.” The record is comprised of 12 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of half an hour. It has been released on the 101 Distribution music label.

“Sometimes they Comeback” is the most significant official release from Krazy Horse da One since his “Los Patos” EP, which was released and hit digital shelves in July of 2012, featuring five tracks over 13 minutes. Unlike most follow-up long-playing record albums, “Sometimes they Comeback” does not include tracks from the EP of the previous year, making the “Los Patos” album something for Krazy Horse da One fans to desire even if they have already been enjoying the larger and more recent “Sometimes they Comeback” record.

Krazy Horse da One raps about dark, often intellectual themes, and his musical accompaniment is likewise often shadowy and complex. His official website (link provided below) provides a glimpse into the mind of one of hip hop's most intriguing and mysterious rappers.

“I am also trying to put links or information to other websites you may enjoy,” writes Krazy Horse da One, “because knowledge is power and we must take advantage of our freedom, because whether or not you want to admit it, there is a conspiracy to oppress or sabotage free thought. Certain individuals are banding together for their own survival, or to ridicule and put down this natural phenomenon of music, hip-hop, and the Krazy Horse da Stallion, so this is for them, not money or fame, and for those of you who sold out and are selling obvious propaganda.”

These strong words from the Horse's mouth are punctuated by an even stronger final epithet:

“I don't know about you but I dont have to lie, fake, or deceive anyone – so may you get what you've got coming to you!”

“Sometimes they Comeback” by Krazy Horse da One is available online everywhere.

Autopsy Boys release new single, 'Crushing on Cynthia Leech'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

UK punk band Autopsy Boys have released their latest single, “Crushing on Cynthia Leech.” The single has been released on the Yorkshire-based 0605 Records music label. It appears on the Autopsy Boys 2012 LP, “Def Elements,” and has been released with an official music video, available for viewing online everywhere.

Like other music from these British punk rockers from the old school style, “Crushing on Cynthia Leech” is dark, fun, upbeat and danceable, though slam-dancing will prove more effective than, say, the foxtrot or the cha-cha. Their pared-down style is coarse and direct, with no frills and no nonsense to get in the way of some very straightforward punk rock played in the classic tradition.

“Our main influence are the Dwarves,” writes Autopsy Boys, “but we love all manner of thrash metal, hardcore punk and '80s synth pop. Too many influences to mention.”

Part of the charm of Autopsy Boys and a large part of their extremely colorful character stems from their bizarre and unlikely roots. They weren't thrown together in a high-school music class.

“We started making music for a friend's low-budget horror movies,” they comment. “Video games and horror movies are the only things in life that really matter!”

Intuitively, the official music video for “Crushing on Cynthia Leech” is a horror short with an extremely simple premise: two attractive young ladies in undergarments making out while they tear one another apart with their hands, teeth, et cetera. Autopsy Boys videos have been known for their gore, having often been labeled, “Goriest music video in history,” only to have the title stripped away by a newer, gorier Autopsy Boys video. In keeping with this tradition, there is an excellent chance that “Crushing on Cynthia Leech” will be the goriest music video the music fan has seen.

“Crushing on Cynthia Leech” by Autopsy Boys is available online worldwide. Don't miss the video.

JazzIs releases new LP record, 'Evolution on the One'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The jazz composer and performer known as JazzIs has released his newest LP record, titled, “Evolution on the One.” It is comprised of 12 new original tracks for an approximate total playing time of one hour and 15 minutes. It has been released on the Zip Avenue Music record label. A round and comprehensive treatment of JazzIs material, “Evolution on the One” represents myriad playing styles, tones, grooves and tempos, and represents an exceptional introduction for music fans to this highly skilled jazz player and writer.

JazzIs cites as main artistic influences such legends as Miles Davis, Airto, John Coltrane, Pharaoh Sanders, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and Wilbur Ware. Building on these foundations with his own distinct character and perspective, JazzIs mixes traditional jazz improvisation with sonic flavors from around the world, incorporating the sounds of Middle Eastern, Asian, and African cultures as well those from many other locales.

JazzIs himself describes his record as having an “Avant garde approach based on the world's sounds. [My album has been] heavily influenced by Miles Davis and the way he taught the art of music,” he writes. “Many people refer to black American Jazz as 'free form,' but fail to realize the necessity of Ear. [It is] creative expression by a culture who used music to communicate from long distances, crossing language barriers and cultural differences.”

The artist has deep musical roots that reach into the very heart of jazz and soul.

“I had a mid-western upbringing,” he writes. “I grew up with Al Greene – Bobby Debarge was like a little brother. My best friend is Bernard Ware, the famous bass player Wilbur Ware's son. I have been in the entertainment Industry all my adult life and have worked with all the greats in various media productions: Tony Curtis, Bob Hope, Lou Rawls, Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, etc.”

With a history such as this, it is perhaps no wonder that “Evolution on the One” is such a masterpiece of modern jazz. One has only to hear a moment of it to know that a great work of art has been created.

Illadelp releases new single, 'Father's Love' featuring Kismet Henderson

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

Rapper Illadelp has released his latest single, titled “Father's Love.” In addition to the performance of Illadelp himself, “Father's Love” also features the talents of Kismet Henderson. It has been released on the Red Carpet Records music label.

The sound of “Father's Love” is classy, bluesy, full of soul and groove and packs lyrical punch that recalls artists such as Tupac Shakur and KRS One. It is a deeply sincere song that declares Illadelp's undying devotion to his daughters. Cool, jazzy piano chords are set off by a flute played in the Arabic style, giving the song a smoky, exotic undertone. Illadelp's delivery is direct, clear, intelligent and poetic, and the addition of Kismet Henderson's brilliant treatment makes the track soar. This may be the first Illadelp material many music fans will have heard, but it is certain to prove the tip of the spear.

Illadelp was raised on the streets of North Philadelphia. His prominent stage name comes from the slang, 'ill,' and Philadephia. His sister Clairessa often challenged him to rap about things she would point out to him at random to train him at the art of freestyle rap. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after high school and served as a sergeant, stationed in Okinawa.

He has performed at various venues, including but not limited to the Martini Lounge in San Diego, “The Arts Garage,” “The Shed,” the “Coast 2 Coast Industry Mixer,” and the “IStandard Producer Showcase.” He has recorded with ML The Truth of 100 Drums Production in Jackson, MS, and with Zaq and Mike from Mike and Ike Studios. He received his first placement under the direction of DJ Truuf in 2011 as his song, “I’m Ready” (feat. ML The Truth) was selected to be on the Converse Allstar Mixtape Vol. 2, which has received global attention and acclaim. His popular tracks, “Up In the Club” and “Ride With Me” are in full rotation on SwuvRadio and Mix1620, both hosted by DJ Truuf.

Frequency Divider releases new EP 'Retribution'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The industrial music artist known as Frequency Divider has released his latest EP record, titled, “Retribution.” The album is comprised of six original Frequency Divider tracks for an approximate listening time of half an hour, making “Retribution” a comprehensive treatment of his repertoire that easily approaches the depth of a full-length release. It is his most significant official release under the Frequency Divider name.

“Retribution” by Frequency Divider is categorized variously as electronic, industrial, darkwave, and post-punk music, but most commonly as EBM (not to be confused with EDM). EBM is a subgenre of music with elements of post-industrial music, electronic dance music, and what is sometimes referred to as “synthpunk.” It is extremely danceable, often very intellectual music, both of which attributes are exemplified well by Frequency Divider's “Retribution.” The album is heavy-hitting, healthy music for both the listener's mind and the dancer's body.

Frequency Divider himself cites Decoded Feedback and yelworC as “similar” to his own sound, but has said on many occasions that he is “primarily influenced by movie directors, such as Neil Breen, Coleman Francis, etc.”

Speaking candidly about his work on “Retribution,” the DC / Virginia-based artist writes, “The last album I published (under a different pseudonym and band name) was released in 2003. Over the years, I continued to write but didn’t publish anything. I’m really liking some of the newest material I’m writing, but to do so, I feel as though I should release my archived material that never made it to the light of day.”

This archived material was written between 2003 and 2013, and includes more than 200 minutes' worth of Frequency Divider music. Fans new and old, therefore, have more than a few lucky stars to thank.

While FD's lyrics are carefully penned and often discuss social and political issues, he insists that his aims are musical at heart.

“I don’t have any particular messages,” he writes, “and the project as a whole is sort of one giant meta joke than no one is likely to understand.”

Don't believe him. Fans of industrial and EBM music all over the world will grok “Retribution” better than a gourmand understands silverware.

“Retribution” by Frequency Divider is available online worldwide beginning 19 September 2013.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The music artist from the United Kingdom known as Kenny Hectyc has released his long-awaited debut record, the “Inside Outer Space” EP. The EP includes six original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 26 minutes. These tracks include Kenny Hectyc mainstays “Let Loose,” featuring the talents of Liquid Architek, “Fly Tonight,” featuring the combined force of the Scribes, and Hectyc's slam-dunk closing track, “Back 2 Bassics.” The EP also includes three “Let Loose” remixes, the “Mainline Mussy Remix,” the “Embassy Remix,” and an instrumental remix, all of which also feature the inimitable Liquid Architek.
