Bronston release new single 'Temples & Mines'

The modern alternative rock crew known as Bronston have released their latest official single, “Temples & Mines.” The track has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Bringing powerful guitars, sweeping harmonies and a balanced dose of swagger, “Temples & Mines” showcases Bronston as one of the most intriguing modern alternative rock artists of the year so far and promises that they have plenty more where that came from.

Scotland's Bronston cite as main artistic influences Foals and Queens of the Stone Age, but fans of bands like Arctic Monkeys and Tame Impala will also find more than enough meat on the bone in “Temples...” Bronston's own sound takes elements from each of these and blends them into a result likely to please both audiophiles who like carefully plotted composition and carefree fans of radio-friendly pop rock alike. With an emphasis on songwriting, emotional draw and straight-up precision performance, “Temples & Mines” by Bronston has a little something for everybody.

Having worked with Rod Jones (Idlewild) on their first two releases of 2019 – ‘Leaving Utopia’ and ‘Burnt Snakes’ – the band went on to release their self-produced ‘I’m Still A Fool’ at the end of the year. Now they are back, bigger and better than ever. Thanks to a new and thriving working relationship with A-list producer Luke Bovill, Bronston say they're confident releasing the most personal music of their career to date.

'Temples & Mines' is a song about the struggle of managing your mental health,” writes singer Adam Campbell, “finding ways to keep on top of the challenges that life brings, and maintaining focus on the good things that motivate you to persevere through bad times. Sometimes when negative feelings start to hit you, it’s possible to notice what’s happening and take steps to break that downward spiral.”

That spiral and its remedy lie at the heart of their new single.

You do something that gets the blood pumping, or you do something that gets the brain firing, or maybe you blow off some steam,” Campbell says. “The upbeat verse sections of 'Temples...' tell the story of that empowering feeling that comes from fighting to get through dark times and knowing
that you made the decisions to overcome what made you want to give up.”

Ultimately, it's a story of empowerment stemming from recognizing one's inner strength.

Knowing that you can choose to embrace the challenges of life and that you can get to a better place is powerful,” writes Campbell.

Campbell wrote the song during a time of “little structure” in his life, Bronston's current official bio says, a time when he began: “to realise that he had to start taking charge of his own problems and start taking responsibility for making a positive difference to the world. He was beginning to see value in things he previously had not seen value in. He was realising that the structures, routines, and habits that come from Temples (people’s places of worship, places of enjoyment, or places of peace) and Mines (places of work) can have a profoundly positive impact on a person.”

Campbell didn't have either temples or mines as such, but he worked toward them using tools in himself he was only beginning to understand, the “little things that helped keep me sane through it all.” He has said that all his greatest achievements have come since writing this song, but that the hardest
periods of his life have come since, as well. Temples & Mines captures that balance. Ultimately
the dark side of this song wins out over the light, but it also conveys that while “Temples...” was being written, depression and anxiety were still winning more often than not.

There is a lot more to come from Bronston who are more ready than they have ever been to expose their vulnerabilities to the world in 2020. This is the first taste of a new animal.

Bronston are Adam Campbell on vocals and guitar, James Callaghan on backing vocals and bass, and Mark Hennys on drums and percussion.

November Louville releases new EP album 'Letter To My Opps'

The songwriter and producer of trap and realistic rap known as November Louville has released his latest official EP album, “Letter To My Opps.” The EP album contains seven original November Louville tracks for an approximate total listening time of half an hour. It has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry on the OnTheRise Records record label. Built on old-school foundations but with a modern edge, “Letter To My Opps” showcases November Louville as one of the most intriguing southern rap artists of the year so far and promises that he has plenty more where that came from.

The Bronx's November Louville cites as main artistic influences Future, Lil Durk, and 50 Cent. November Louville's own sound takes elements from each of these and adds something fresh and unique for a result unlike anything today's music fans have heard before. In addition to performances by Louville, himself, “Letter to My Opps” also bears the talents of a great many friends.

Shoutout to everyone who was a part of this,” November Louville writes. “I have one of my artists, she's a dope rnb, but like that real sh-t, type of singer. She goes by Ohheymay AKA Bagswag. She def was a great ear and good studio vibe through the creative process. My brother P. Different, who's my Stacca Fam family, is also on the project, and that's just one of the realist people I know – and well respected – so in this particular time period I was definitely building with him a lot and we both was just moving a certain way and felt a lot of the same views of enemy situations, so it was easy to bring that energy to the music and create what we did. That's why he's the only artist featured on the project. It was just a real and genuine situation.”

Louville goes on to explain that “Letter to My Opps” is really kind of a side project.

In reality, I'm finalizing finishing touches on my long-awaited project Switch Sides,” he says. “I worked on so much music, I just kind of took all the vibes I felt and made this project as an appreciation to all supporters, all engineers and producers, from Elus to Loststudiostrev, Oneokey, Taylorbeats, Royalchilds, and Cashmoneyap.”

Asked to describe the overall meaning of “Letter To My Opps,” November Louville writes, “General theme is like, f-ck, people! Have a principle! Have a code. Stick to it and live the best life you could. Listen to the people who may not like you for whatever reason, I don't care, and this is the things that make me. It's like a letter to people who doubt or don't like you, and you're letting them know, like, listen this is me, and this is like a step into my life, and why I do certain things or my understanding on things.”
Ultimately, November Louville is on the side of the music fan.

I want my audience to leave with a confidence,” writes Lou, “an energy of feeling invincible. I want my audience to feel like they can face anything and do anything the way they want to. I want them to feel wild, free, and motivated to just do everything major.Letter To My Opps” by November Louville on the OnTheRise Records label is available from quality digital music stores online worldwide now. Wil Hinkson releases new single 'Spirit and Stone (Somewhere Between) Remastered'

The songwriter and producer of rock music known as Wil Hinkson has released his latest official single, “Spirit and Stone (Somewhere Between) Remastered.” The single has been bundled with an official B-side, “Fragile Times.” Both have been proudly published as independent releases without the involvement of the corporate music industry on the Oh Keh Muse record label. Bringing all of today's '80s-revival sound and absolutely thriving deep in the groove, “Spirit and Stone” showcases Wil Hinkson as one of the most intriguing rock artists of the year so far and promises that he has plenty more where that came from.

Andorra, West Europe's Wil Hinkson cites as main artistic influences French radio and Phil Collins, with his own sound variously termed “new '80s” or “chillout rock.” Hinkson himself writes, “People say my music makes them feel peaceful -- some studio engineers say the same -- so I also call it 'peaceful pop.' Experienced studio recording people call it experimental pop.

Striking, mellow, and exceptionally written, music by Wil Hinkson builds interest and emotion for recordings, performances and playlist spots which never fail to enthuse his listeners.

Asked to describe the overall meaning of “Spirit and Stone,” Hinkson writes, “As these songs just come to me, I can only surmise like everyone else, but it seems to say we are always between the spirit of an idea and its materialised form (Stone) and we float 'Somewhere Between.'”

Being a subtly poetic song, though, that's not the only message the single suggests. Hinkson adds as an afterthought:

Well also, the song speaks of 'A time to forgive' (as it always is) as we are floating between, so I guess that's one of the themes. It also talks of the ancient heritage of the child born into the somewhere between and the child being at home with it. It says we are moving together. It seems to me to be a song for the times, saying we will be OK.”

A humble, friendly artist, when asked to offer a message to his audience, Hinkson says:

Hey, it would be great if you kindly listened … Millennials seem to like my 'new '80s' style according to the latest surveys I read, so that is very encouraging.”

On this occasion of his new single and B-side, Wil Hinkson thanks: “a lady named MC (see her 'Dancing With Clowns' on my Instagram – lots of views); the streaming services, Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer Radio for getting my music out to the world so easily; all the technical people who have assisted me along the way; and a shoutout to radio in France, USA, UK, Ireland, Canada, Russia, Germany and the rest across the world; thanks for the airplay you fine music lovers; always great to see the variety of stations listed on the reports. Some of the sweetest words I've read are 'Added to rotation.'”

Rock duo Dragon and Berr release third LP album 'Existential'

Alt-rock married couple Dragon and Berr have released their third official album, “Existential.” The LP features their popular single track, “Just a Hot Mess,” which dropped March 28. Both have been proudly published as independent releases without the involvement of the corporate music industry on the Loose Bolt Records record label. Eclectic, passionate, and bone-deep in its genuine rock roots, “Existential” proves Dragon and Berr to be a cornucopia of original sounds sure to capture the attention of music fans everywhere.

Dragon and Berr, whose sophomore LP “Pocket Full of Switchblades and Promises” appeared about one year ago at time of writing, have cited as main influences a broad variety of influences. These include Hall & Oates, Styx, Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Wicked Wisdom, Prince, Aretha Franklin, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, the CoatHangers, the Ron Keel Band, the Beatles, and Halestorm.

But wait, Hall & Oates beside Panic at the Disco? Aretha Franklin in the same paragraph as Styx? Prince beside Halestorm? This seeming disparity reflects the heart of Dragon and Berr, in fact, who make music they love, not music that plops squarely into a box. This was also apparent on their highly experimental debut record, 2018's “Psychotic Break.”

Asked to describe the overall meaning of “Existential,” Dragon and Berr say it's a record about relationships. To hear them tell it, though, it's a good sight more than just that.

The title of the album, 'Existential,' is concerned with existence,” they write, “especially human existence. What is more part of being human than relationships?”

This idea is a consistent thread throughout their new LP. They write of it in allusions to tracks on the album:

Every song has some form of relationship theme, be that going out for the first time when you are young and just 'Livin your Lives,' Or going out with your wife for a night of 'Karaoke.' Sometimes you may be trying to reconnect with a love that you never even told them how you feel. In the album's case, it happens to be at a high school reunion dance that we hope love blooms. With the song 'Let Me Turn You On To a New Thing,' it's trying to inject something new in an old relationship.”

And of course, D and B hit all kinds of places on the stylistic spectrum.

We pay tribute to some of the '60s songs we grew up with,” say Dragon and Berr. “We even have a break-up song and sneak a little soul/R&B into our rock with 'Not My Lady Anymore.' And not to worry, we do fly our off-beat pop-punk style with a liberal influence of jazz here and there … And if you blink you can miss the big band swing snuck in.”

Ultimately, “Existential” is an album about emotional complexity.

Relationships are all about feelings,” they write. “Sometimes we only think of the basic stuff when we think of a relationship. We don't always think of maybe not being happy all the time or anxiety or vulnerability, feelings of jealousy, emotional intimacy, outright love and bliss and joy and so many other feelings we should embrace because that is being human. We touch on lots of different palettes of feelings in relationships in this album.”

Existential” by Dragon and Berr on the Loose Bolt Records label is available from quality digital music stores online worldwide now. Get in early, alt-rock fans.

The songwriter and producer of rap and hip hop known as the Legendary Smooth B has released his latest official EP album, “Before.” The EP album has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry on the Barnes Entertainment, Inc. record label. Standing on the original old-school sound like a titanic monolith ten miles tall, “Before” showcases the Legendary Smooth B to a new audience of fans and proves he can bring the boom-bap back like nobody has yet.

Digitalradiotracker.com's Top 150 Radio Airplay chart for independent artists currently ranks the Legendary Smooth B at No. 10. On DRT's Top 200 Radio Airplay chart for major-label artists, Smooth B debuted at number 96 in his first week appearing there. It has been predicted he will reach No. 1 on both charts with DRT already preparing to honor him with a plaque. These accolades come as the MTV Network has also accepted his official music video and added it to their rotation.

The Bronx's Legendary Smooth B cites as influences mythic pioneers of the sound such as the Sugarhill Gang, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash & Melle Mel, and Geto Boys, as well as his own sonic contemporaries such as Outkast, Public Enemy, the Notorious BIG, Bone Thugs 'n' Harmony, Ice T, Ice Cube, and his very close friend and brother, the late Tupac Malik Shakur.

On this new offering, “Before,” the Legendary Smooth B's current sound takes elements from each of the above and adds his own inimitable power for a result which will capture 21st-century listeners and loyal fans of the 1980s alike. With an emphasis on slick, minimal beats, towering verbal aggression, and relentless rhythm rolling way deep in the groove, “Before” by the Legendary Smooth B brings the same MC tradition that was born on the streets of the South Bronx streets in NYC to those who weren't there, and with a contemporary polish, too.

Asked to describe the overall meaning of “Before,” the Legendary Smooth B writes:

In the past it was different. I did music because I loved it and it was my way to come up. Now it’s even better. I’m working to bring today into tomorrow as well as combining the past into the future. I'm helping other new artists develop their music and sound so that they can have a long-lasting career like mine.”

Smooth isn't doing it alone, however.

I’m doing all of this with my long-time friend and brother, Matthew 'Big I-God' Williams,” Smooth B says. “We started our own record label. Big I-God from the beginning was my Day 1 Runner and my Day 1 Stunner. We go back like car seats from the sandbox. He gets me and I get him. It’s exiting! We can close our eyes and be worry-free and sucker-free!”

In talking about his ultimate goal in music, the Smooth B minces no words.

To share the gift the Most High God's bestowed upon me with all of my brothers and sisters in this world,” he says.

The Legendary Smooth B began his music career touring and recording with Bobby Brown as a background singer, rapper, and dancer. His hit singles over the years include “Hip Hop Junkies,” “Sometimes I Rhyme Slow,” “How to Flow,” “Cake & Eat It Too,” “Old to the New,” “Return of the Hip Hop Freaks,” and “Dwyck” feat. Gang Starr. Smooth B can also be heard singing on “Cheri” with Jo Jo Hailey (Jodeci).

He has since recorded with other notables such as Shaquille O'Neal and appeared on albums with fellow legends such as Ice T, Ice Cube, KAM, Mobb Deep, and many, many others. Between official music drops, Smooth B has appeared in feature films such as “Strictly Business” and “Who's the Man.”

Innovative, socially conscientious, and bearing the hallmarks of a subculture pioneer, “Who Knows” showcases Trey Gordon as one of the most intriguing artists of the year so far and promises that he has plenty more where that came from.

The United Kingdom's Trey Gordon cites as main artistic influences Justin Beiber, Big Sean, Flume, Chance the Rapper, and Kehlani. Trey Gordon's own sound takes elements from each of these and adds something fresh and unique for a result unlike anything today's music fans have heard before. With an emphasis on carefully crafted diction and unstoppable, bass-built back beats, “Who Knows” by Trey Gordon has a little something for everybody.

Asked to describe the overall meaning of “Who Knows,” Trey Gordon writes: “My single portrays my ability with metaphors and play on words, and it also portrays my belief that I will succeed this year without a doubt! I aim for potential listeners to hear this track and for it to give them that spring in their to chase the life goals, or even to bounce back and try again!”

A veteran creator of original music, Trey Gordon remembers the exact moment he became inspired to the work.

I was 13 years old,” he says. “It was a Sunday evening and I was having dinner with my family. James Blunt's 'You Give Me Something' came on, and I burst out into song. My dad complimented my voice, and from there I had it in my head that music was my life!”

Trey Gordon's current official bio describes him as an up and coming trop artist (trap/pop) working to break mental-health stereotypes through his music.

His stage persona is bubbly, energetic and infectious,” it continues. “He uses his art to break barriers and tell stories, choosing not to silence himself to please others. Trey uses his platform to show his persona as well as the multitude of themes which he finds important, such as family, positivity, gratitude and generosity. On his newly created YouTube channels, viewers can see who Trey is behind his persona, focusing on cyclothymia, personal struggles, and how he plans to use his platform to give back to the community!”
