Fire of Caron releases new single 'Koda'
The singer and songwriter known as Fire of Caron has released her latest single track, “Koda.” The track has been proudly published without support from the corporate music industry. Uplifting, groovy and infused with far more creativity than popular music has supplied fans in the last decade, “Koda” is clear evidence that Fire of Caron is a sculptor of sound with heart, vision, and a characteristic tone no one can emulate.
Fire of Caron's inimitable style comes from a surprising array of legendary musicians exhibiting a wide variety of genres and musical cultures. She cites as favorites such titans as Jean Michel Jarre, Bill Nelson, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Queen, T-Rex, Clannad, Pat Travers, Per Gessle, and Genesis. That which these masters have in common is the consistent thread running also through Fire of Caron's songwriting on “Koda:” a focus on melody and rhythm distinguished by a heavy dose of individuality.
Having been asked to describe the overarching message of her single, Fire of Caron replies that “It shows you don't have to have a fancy studio and lots of money. You just need guts and determination.”
The aggressive, yet feminine vocals and well-penned lyrics of “Koda” clearly communicate that these are attributes which Fire of Caron exhibits in spades. The single stands as an example of her artistic integrity and dedication, qualities of which the artist is aware and justifiably proud.
“[The final release of 'Koda'] shows I am willing to work hard to support what I believe in,” she writes.
What Fire of Caron believes in takes more time to explore and explain. Her music is grounded in and inspired by some of humanity's most significant and crucial principles.
Commenting on these ideals, Fire of Caron writes, “Since the late '90s, I've noticed how the human population has gotten out of control and how we have taken over the planet, killing anything that gets in our way. We are on this earth to harmonize, not monopolize – but we are growing out of control, building new properties on every single bit of land. We seem to be so focused on what we want for our own families, we don't think about the future of mankind or other creatures that live on this earth.”
By November of 2013, Fire of Caron had had enough.
“I decided not just to moan about the things that are going wrong, but to try to do something about it. I knew I had a talent for songwriting and could hear other instruments, and although I only played the keyboard and sang, I knew I could use the keyboard for all the instruments that were missing … I would make music, and the funds I would get from it I would use to campaign about environmental issues, animal cruelty, etc. My motto is 'Supporting nature through music.'”
Music isn't her only weapon, though. The artist has proved beyond the most reasonable expectations
that she's sincere about making a real difference.
“I left a full-time job to do what I believe in and what I love,” she writes. “I just hope I can at least help the planet if I can't save it!”
The UK's Pontefract and Castleford Express ran an article detailing Fire of Caron's quest, titled “Leaving the Office to Save the Planet” (link provided below).

Person Natalie releases new EP 'Off the Grid'
The composer and saxophonist known as Person Natalie has released
her debut EP album, “Off the Grid.” The record comprises four
original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 20
minutes, making for a comprehensive introduction to the growing
Person Natalie repertoire. Commonly listed online as contemporary
jazz music, the “Off the Grid” EP has elements of both cool and
smooth jazz, but focuses on Person Natalie's highly intuitive,
consistently surprising sax phrases.
This eclectic manner of composition comes from her broadly diverse pool of musical influences. Person Natalie cites “Aretha Franklin to Motown artists like Sam and Dave; Wilson Pickett all the way to Johnny Cash; Merle Haggard to classic rock, Fleetwood Mac, the Who, Van Halen, Steely Dan … Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Jeff Lorber Fusion, Little Dragon, Silversun Pickups and Charlie Parker.”
Clearly, Person Natalie has access to every tonal hue with which to paint her sonic pictures. An early name for her project, the 'Natalie Person Disorder,' bespoke the unique nature of her sound.
“I think stylistically, it's pretty varied. I really love Jazz too, especially being a sax player, although I want to make it clear that I am not a jazz musician. Many of my chord choices definitely reflect my jazz influences and training (from Saddleback). My goal, as far as music is concerned, is just to write an interesting, compelling song and 'kill it' on the sax.”
While Person Natalie's “Off the Grid” EP is based on composition and instrumentation, it still manages a great deal of narrative.
“Each song tells its own story, simply put,” she writes. “'Some Clarity' is about gaining perspective, balancing out – having your vision adjusted, so to speak. 'Moonlighting at JPL' is about my tendency to daydream. I'm not afraid to dream a little. 'Kevlar Up' is about bracing to weather the storms of life, to toughen up and block the attempts of anybody trying to burst your bubble. 'Carmen's Mix' is a song I wrote for my sister.”
“Carmen's...” closes out the EP. It has a special place in Person Natalie's set. “I like what I did with the saxophone in this one,” she writes.
Perhaps most remarkable about Person Natalie's writing and performing style is how clearly it communicates her mood and character, both during her performance of the song and at the time of the song's composition.
“It's a good creative outlet,” she writes. “If it goes somewhere, great. If it doesn't, it sure is good therapy, regardless. One of my favorite quotes is something John Lennon said: 'One's originality comes from his inability to emulate those that influenced him.'”

Mark Bryce releases new EP 'Celebrate Life'
The singer and songwriter known as Mark
Bryce has released his latest EP record, “Celebrate Life.” The
extended-play album comprises four original tracks for an approximate
total listening time of 15 minutes. It has been published on the
Cedar Creek Records independent music
label. A blend of pop, modern folk, and country music, “Celebrate Life” by Mark Bryce has something for everyone and proves that this American performer deserves his FM airtime.
Asked to describe his main artistic influences, Mark writes, “I'm influenced by a variety of great songs and artists. My biggest musical heroes are Mellencamp, Springsteen and Bon Jovi. Some of my current
fav's include several artists in the country-crossover genre including Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band.”
Mark Bryce's “Celebrate Life” EP belongs in a play list which might include the above artists, yet maintains its own unique sound. Much of this comes from the character of Mark Bryce, himself.
“My mom was a huge Elvis fan,” the native of Long Island, NY writes. “Some of my earliest memories are from watching classic live broadcasts of Elvis Presley. Seeing the innate coolness he had along with the overwhelming audience reaction just made me want to be a part of that energy and excitement. I got my first guitar at age seven and began to emulate Elvis. It wasn't long after until I started writing my first songs.”
Some of the Elvis Presley swagger persists in Mark's music, giving it a direct and determined tone that is neither too aggressive nor arrogant. Another significant part of his musical chemistry is the folk-style
narrative of his songs, each of which is based on the life of Mark Bryce, himself. Even his professional name, in fact, is part of his ongoing story.
Mark had moved from his small-town environment on Long Island to Hollywood with a friend. He unabashedly admits they had big dreams and “stars in our eyes.”
“Several years into life in Hollywood,” he writes, “my best friend from back home who had moved to LA and was my roommate tragically lost his life (this is referenced in the song 'Celebrate Life'). His name was Bryce. That's where I got my last name. I use the stage name Mark Bryce as a way of honoring him and making him apart of this next chapter of my life.”
Mark Bryce has since returned to Long Island, the tale of which is recounted in his “Yellow Brick Road.” He hopes to make a place for himself soon in Nashville, TN, also.

Suited Records music label opens doors
A new independent music label called Suited Records opened its doors in June of 2014. The label has been launched by veteran music writer Roy Cooper and already has a catalog of more than ten official releases. “The Magic of Christmas,” “Flowers to Arlington,” and “The Fireman” are among the most popular titles, but scores of songs have been made available for sampling and purchase, many with official videos also for sampling and purchase. Nearly all selections published under the Suited Records label benefit an associated charity as noted at the official Suited Records website (link provided below). Suited Records gets its name from the denotation of the word 'suited,' which means appropriate, satisfactory, suitable, befitting, or “right for a particular purpose or situation because of having all of the qualities needed.” True to their name, Suited Records pairs many of their releases with an appropriate charity; for example, a portion of sales from “The Fireman” (a tribute song for the 343 firemen killed on 9/11) go to support dependents of firemen killed at work, and a percentage of sales from “Heaven's Window” go to help needy families of servicemen wounded or lost in the line of duty. “We are very selective about our releases,” writes founder Roy Cooper, “and our songs cover a wide range of subjects and themes. A Christmas song, a few tribute songs, one about the destruction of our planet, and another concerned with animal welfare, are just a few available to watch and listen to.” Suited Records isn't merely a way to do good in the world through music, however. It's also a celebration of a life lived in music. “I have been writing songs and making music videos for over 30 years now,” writes founder Roy Cooper, “and after passing the 70-year-old milestone, I felt it was time to make a more positive move in getting my songs heard and my music videos seen. “When I told my wife my plan to start my own record label and build this website, she said, 'What, at your age?' and I laughed and replied, 'Whilst there's breath in me, I will always try.' So I beavered away on my PC and here we are.” The artists and various performers featured on the Suited Records website are widely varied and numerous. “This is just a selection of the song catalog that I have built up over the years with my wife Helen and co-writers from around the world,” Cooper explains. “We will be adding more of them to the Suited Records label over the next few months. During my journey I have made friends with many talented songwriters whom I never would have met had it not been for the Internet. My thanks go to them all, and also to the Internet.” Suited Records is open for business at http://suitedrecords.com/
GhostSynth releases new single 'Ultraviolet'
The composer and producer of
electronica and house music known as GhostSynth has released his
latest single, “Ultraviolet.” The track has been concurrently
released with three additional singles, “Game Changer,”
“Journey,” and “Lethal Injection,” all available online
worldwide. These tracks showcase GhostSynth as one of London's most
creative and unpredictable composers of house music, as well as one
of the names to watch as the dubstep craze begins to give ground to
the lasting power of house and trance EDM.
GhostSynth cites as main artistic
influences many of the founding fathers of the European electronica
sound and of popular electronic music in general, such as Giorgio
Moroder, Jan Hammer, Joe Meek, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Michael
Jackson, Grandmaster Flash, Eric Prydz, Swedish House Mafia, and
deadmau5. His own sound hearkens to the early days of digital
dancefloors, when bands like KLF, EMF and the Orb ruled “alternative”
radio stations and kept beats alive. It was in these formative years
that GhostSynth found his sonic calling.
“The 90s…” he reminisces. “I
will always remember the day my other brother came home from work
with a record in his hand. It was a famous rave tune at the time. I
remember listening to it and being absolutely blown away by its
sounds and intensity. At that time the UK hardcore scene was thriving
and you would hear these manic sounds everywhere while pirate radio
battled to keep us entertained with the latest white-label releases …
I lived and breathed music and so it was only natural that I
gradually began making my own tunes, just like my brother used to do.
I began with hardcore and gradually moved to drum 'n' bass before
finally settling into house music.”
The house music GhostSynth makes is
pared down to its core elements. Instrumentation is sparse, melodies
are bright and clear, and his overall composition proves that excess
is not his thing. Songs like “Ultraviolet” and “Game Changer”
glow in their sonic simplicity.
“I have been making music for many
years now and enjoyed every minute of it,” GhostSynth writes. “I
love the idea of being able to express myself through music and hope
people will enjoy what I do. I have a broad taste in music and always
keep an open mind about what I am hearing.”
“Ultraviolet,” as well as “Game
Changer,” “Journey,” and “Lethal Injection” by GhostSynth,
are available at 700+ online stores around the globe.

SixStringSurfer releases new single 'Kick That Ball – Soccer Singalong Song'
The Netherlands-based rock crew known
as SixStringSurfer have released their latest single, “Kick That
Ball – Soccer Singalong Song.” The track is a classic-rock jam in
the tradition of such sports-adopted tracks as Gary Glitter's “Rock
'n' Roll Part II” and Queen's “We Will Rock You,” written and
recorded specifically to celebrate the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The
track is straightforward, fun, energetic, and sure to add spice to
any futbol parties anywhere in the world.
SixStringSurfer cite as main artistic
influences such legends as Slade, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink
Floyd, Rammstein, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Moore,
Larry Carlton, Wes Montgomery, Beyonce, Madonna, Andrea Bocelli,
Beethoven, Bach, and Erik Satie. Of these, most of their inspiration
for “Kick That Ball” comes from Zeppelin and Sabbath, the
resulting blend sounding not unlike the more thumping moments of
AC/DC.
Asked to describe the inherent meanings
of “Kick That Ball,” SixStringSurfer writes, “It's an original
rock song by SixStringSurfer for everybody who loves football /
soccer! Listen and sing and shout along! Have fun and enjoy football!
Listen to this song and feel and enjoy the groove and energy of it,
yeah! Ev'rybody's goin' crazyyyyyyy!”
SixStringSurfer's enthusiasm for the
sport of soccer is plain to see, and especially as regards the
current contest in South America.
“This is a general football song,”
they write, “but of course this song is also very suitable as a
soccer singalong song for World Cup Soccer 2014 in Brazil!”
SixStringSurfer is made up of Vinnie
and Ernie, AKA BrainStorm. Vinnie has been playing guitar for more
than two decades, largely along the rock, pop, and blues lines.
Having been brought up singing traditionally, it was not until he
heard the singing of Rammstein's Till Lindemann that he realized he,
too, could front a rock band.
Ernie's musical talents stretch from
guitar to keyboards, bass to drums, songwriting, composing,
engineering, mixing, and even mastering music. He has played for many
years in a Pink Floyd tribute band as well as several others, and
spends his extra time producing music in the sound studio.

Lou Ward releases new single 'I Wanna Know What You're Thinking!'
The singer and songwriter known as Lou
Ward has released his latest single, “I Wanna Know What You're
Thinking!” The single has been released worldwide with an official
music video. A funky, groovy track with elements of soul, R 'n' B and
Motown, “I Wanna Know What You're Thinking!” is a song with which
anyone can relate.
Ward cites as main artistic influences
such legends as Smokey Robinson, James Brown, Al Green, Sam Cooke,
and David Ruffin. Attributes of each of these can be easily discerned
in his “I Wanna Know...” single, and fans of them are likely to
receive the single with appropriate enthusiasm.
Asked to elaborate on the themes of his
new single, Lou Ward writes, “The key to a healthy relationship is
communication. The most important key to relationship communication
is emotional listening. This involves telling each other what's
really on your mind, what you are thinking. This connecting is the
foundation of knowing how to show up for each other and allow the
relationship to blossom and thrive.”
Ward has been singing since early
childhood. His first accolade was in high school, winning the
statewide Male Low Voice Competition by performing Paul Robeson's
“Old Man River.” He began penning his own songs soon after. He
wrote music in college as well as during his tour with the US Navy.
An agent for Sony Records and the Apollo Theater heard Ward's music
and Ward was nearly signed to Sony in 1992. Circumstances prevented
this, and Ward dedicated himself to his wife and family to raise
their children.
The music world was not done with him,
however.
“The situation presented itself where
I realized that a lot of guys were asking me about relationships and
what makes a relationship successful,” he writes. “I thought that
if I developed a system based on my experiences, others would benefit
from the effort. I felt that the best way to get the message out
about the importance of emotional listening would be a song, so 'I
Wanna Know What You’re Thinking!' was born.”

Farewell Friend releases new single 'Brother's Keeper'
The indie band known as Farewell Friend
have released their latest single, “Brother's Keeper.” The track
has been released concurrently with two B-side offerings, “One Week
One Thought” and “They All Were Dancing.” Together the trio
comprise an approximate total listening time of approximately fifteen
minutes, making this early release from Farewell Friend similar to an
unofficial EP, but still bearing the price tag of a single.
Farewell Friend cite as main artistic
influences Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne, Bon Iver, and Tom Petty. While
their own sound has attributes which are evidently inspired by these,
the ultimate Farewell Friend experience is unique. Their vocals lie
somewhere between Ryan Adams and Mumford and Sons, which is
intuitive, but occasionally exhibit fleeting touches of Liam
Gallagher of Oasis (“They All Were Dancing” in particular). A
vibraphone lends “Brother's Keeper” colorful and uplifting
undertones which soften the emotional tension, such creative
instrumentation as one is unlikely to find on the next Magnetic Zeros
record.
Asked to comment on the themes of their
“Brother's Keeper” single, Farewell Friend write, “It speaks of
death and avoiding giving in to our 'lesser angels.' We all have
goals and expectations in life but we seldom hear songs about what we
have to give up along the road of adventure. This single expresses
the stagnation felt by being caught in environments or circumstances
of our own choosing. It confesses fears of putting our hearts and
hopes in danger while we want to chase after the things in which we
believe.”
In the end, the message seems a stoic
one.
“Life's a gamble and some things are
out of reach,” they conclude.
The band's official bio describes
Farewell Friend as “the recent collaboration of Thomas Troyer,
David Wimbish, Michael Kuehn, and Virginia Wimmer. They endeavor to
re-evaluate pop and folk sensibilities and dichotomies in order to
tell stories that connect with people in new ways. This connection
seeks to go past the raging emotive banter that much of indie-folk
rock thrives on and instead share some of the more conflicting,
elusive, yet more resolute facets of human experience. The aesthetic
is organic and textures simplistic. We hope the sound never obscures
the meaning.”

Anthony D. Harrison releases new single 'Happy Anniversary'
The singer of rhythm and blues known as
Anthony D. Harrison has released his latest single, “Happy
Anniversary.” The track is a romantic homage to blushing brides
everywhere as well as to the institution of marriage overall. It has
been published on the Image Maker Records music label. “Happy
Anniversary” is the most significant release from Anthony D.
Harrison since his popular “I Would” release on Image Maker,
which appeared on digital shelves in May of 2014. This was preceded
by his equally celebrated “Freebird” single from the same
publisher approximately a year earlier. “Happy Anniversary” also
has the distinction of being Harrison's first Image Maker single to
be released with a corresponding official music video (link provided
below).
Fans of R 'n' B written and performed
in the soulful, traditional style have been enthusiastic about new
material from Anthony D. Harrison since the 2013 announcement of his
collaboration with veteran music producer Elroy Jackson, better known
in industry circles as Thaproduca. Harrison cites as main artistic
influences such legends as Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Aretha
Franklin, Earth Wind and Fire, and Cameo. Music fans who have enjoyed
records from this distinguished roster have much reason to lend an
ear to Harrison's “Happy Anniversary,” as it stands as one of the
most prominent modern examples of the legitimate R 'n' B sound to
emerge in some time.
Speaking of the themes in Harrison's
new single, Thaproduca writes for Image Maker Records, “This single
speaks of love, and the fact that with true love, 'Everyday is a new
anniversary.'”
Anthony D. Harrison’s official bio
describes him as an “Oakland, CA native who has been singing since
a very early age. His journey through the music world has led him on
a very magical ride. He has performed with some of the best male
groups as he grew into a finished product. Now he has taken all his
years of experience and put them into his present project, and magic
has been made.”

Cursees Connect release debut self-titled EP
The Canadian indie rockers known as
Cursees Connect have released their debut self-titled EP album. The
record has been independently published on the Cursees Records label
without support from the corporate music industry. The “Cursees
Connect” EP comprises six original tracks for an approximate total
listening time of half an hour. It is preceded by their popular
“Locked Lips, Loose Spell” single release which heralded the
impending publication of the debut album. The EP has been highly
anticipated in Canada and abroad since before that time.
Cursees Connect cite as main artistic
influences Radiohead, Silverchair, Wintersleep, Hayden, 311, John
Mayer, Wilco and Coldplay. Their own sound is a melange of attributes
gleaned from these artists which do not so much mirror them as
seemingly bloom from evident inspirations. The tracks on “Cursees
Connect” can themselves be surprisingly disparate in terms of tone
and style, each stemming from an emotion requiring a rhythm, riff and
groove all its own to be roundly communicated.
Even so, there remains an overarching
“Cursees Connect” -ness which holds the EP into a well-braided
and consistent whole. The band's remarkably unique and creative
songwriting bears enough complexity to furnish listeners with weeks
and even months of replays, enough to tide the most avid fan over
until Cursees Connect's inevitable full-length record hits digital
shelves.
The official Cursees Connect website
describes the band as “an indie rock band from Fredericton, NB.
Sometimes edgy, sometimes spacious, sometimes sexy and sweet, their
songs are propelled by driving bass groves and soaring melodies,
creating a dynamic and passionate blend that has been energizing
audiences throughout New Brunswick.”
Cursees Connect are Mathieu Emond, Bryan Harn, Curtis Smith, and Lindsay Brin.

Mr. Mil releases new single 'Let's Hang Out'
The singer and songwriter known as Mr.
Mil, KingOfNextLevel has released his latest single, “Let's Hang
Out.” The single appeared in early June of 2014 at online music
stores around the globe and has been steadily climbing the National
Airplay Top 50 Independent chart ever since. It has been proudly
released on the TSCircle Music record label. Spacious, groovy, and
founded on Mr. Mil's infectious and iconic vocal delivery, “Let's
Hang Out” by Mr. Mil isn't just the artist's most prominent foray
into hip hop, but also his most ambitious one.
“Using music as a tool, my primary
purpose is to help empower others,” says Mr. Mil on his MTV Artists
website.
Mr. Mil (AKA KingOfNextLevel) treats
music as his natural environment. He relates that his life revolves
around the art of making music and that his future lies in having
created a vast repertoire of singles, EPs and LPs for the world to
enjoy and take heart in.
“I focus on every aspect of creating
the music,” he writes. “I create real music for all, not just a
particular body of people. So I don't create just for the hood. I
take a strong and careful focus on the lyrical content, lyrical
rhythms and down to every element of composing the music and
marketing the product.”
Mr. Mil, who originally hails from
Chicago, has been writing his particular brand of music since 1993.
“I am an addict of creating great
music,” writes KingOfNextLevel. “I wake up almost everyday with
catchy choruses being the first thoughts to come to my mind. Music is
not something I try to create or have a difficult time writing or
producing. It's naturally flowing through my spirit.”
Mr. Mil KingOfNextLevel debuted on the
National Airplay Top 200 Chart at #181 on April 4, 2014 and had
climbed to #29 on the Top 50 Independent Chart eight days later.
Sharing space on this chart were such names as Lorde, Drake, John
Legend, Adele, One Direction, Jason Derulo, Lady GaGa, Daft Punk,
Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5, AVICII, Flo Rida, Ke$ha, Eminem and Pharrell
Williams. Mr. Mil has also charted with the recognized music
authority, Record World Magazine.

Dr. Eric Fassbender releases new album 'Calming The Troubled Mind – Volume I'
Dr. Eric Fassbender has released his
new album, “Calming The Troubled Mind – Volume I (Overcoming
Anxiety with Empowering Mantras and the Soothing Sounds of Nature).”
The album comprises eight tracks for a total listening time of over
one hour, and has been released on the Sound Energy Records label.
Soothing, healing, and deeply therapeutic, Dr. Fassbender's “Calming
the Troubled Mind – Volume I” directly represents the curative
powers of nature, as well as the potential of sonic therapy in
general.
Dr. Fassbender is associated with the
naturalist production team known as Wild Eden Nature Sounds, with
whom he has released an array of nature recordings which includes
“Journey to Australia,” “Birds of the North Australian Tropical
Rainforest,” “Birds of Australia's National Parks,” “Journey
to Tasmania,” and “Journey to the Top End.” His new series,
“Calming the Troubled Mind,” is the latest in his growing
collection of sounds which can augment meditation, act as sleep aids,
or merely create an atmosphere of cool serenity. These records
include “Dream Waves,” “Tibetan Singing Bowl,” “Celestial
Wind Chimes,” and others.
“I first experienced the soothing
power of pure and undisturbed nature sounds on a bush walk in 2002,”
writes Dr. Fassbender. “Since then I have recorded sounds of nature
to bring the peace and quiet that I experience in untouched
wilderness areas to other people who do not have the opportunity to
travel to peaceful places. I have further explored the power of sound
as part of my PhD on the effect of music on learning, and through
this research found more and more evidence for the benefits of
listening to nature sounds on anxiety, insomnia, tinnitus, stress and
pain. I now direct my energy towards helping others to experience the
soothing and calming powers of nature.”
The track titles on “Calming the
Troubled Mind” serve as suggested mantras for meditation, the first
half of the title being considered on the intake of breath, the
second on exhaling. For example, “Smile to Body – Releasing
Tension” may be recited mentally or out loud while the sounds of a
bubbling brook massage the psyche of the listener.
“The mantras are of course entirely
optional,” Dr. Fassbender writes, “and if you just want to listen
to the pure and peaceful sounds of nature then you are of course free
to do just that. Because, let me assure you, even by themselves, the
sounds of nature are sure to calm your troubled mind.”
And what of the physiological effects
of exposure to natural sounds?
The Doctor explains: “There are
numerous studies that show the beneficial effects that listening to
the sounds of nature has on anxiety. Examples include pregnant women
who experience anxiety in various stages of their pregnancy, pre- and
post-operative surgery patients, as well as people who are having
wounds treated or those affected by cancer. But listening to nature
sounds to reduce anxiety is not just restricted to these examples.
Immersing ourselves in nature is generally effective in almost any
situation where anxiety is experienced.”

I (Overcoming Anxiety with Empowering Mantras and the Soothing Sounds
of Nature)” by Dr. Eric Fassbender is available online worldwide.

Riddim to Dem Ent. releases new Sashae single 'Wi Deh Deh'
The singer and songwriter known as
Sashae has released her latest contemporary reggae single, “Wi Deh
Deh.” The track has been proudly and prominently released on the
up-and-coming, rapidly growing music label, Riddim to Dem
Entertainment, which is based in southern Florida and maintains its
deep cultural roots in Jamaica. “Wi Deh Deh” is the most
significant single to be published from Sashae since her popular
official video release, “Dem Nuh Bad EarthQuake Riddim” in
December of 2013.
In stark contrast to Sashae's arresting
and aggressive rhymes in “...EarthQuake Riddim,” “Wi Deh Deh”
is an energetic, carefree anthem that lifts spirits high in
celebration and proves that Riddim to Dem has yet another talented
performer on their hands in the form of singer-songwriter Sashae.
Sashae is primarily a reggae and dancehall musician, but also laces
her music with elements of other forms of pop music which will
attract a wide variety of music listeners.
Her latest title, “Wi Deh Deh,” is
a Jamaican Patois phrase which can be loosely translated as, “We're
there!” Asked to elucidate the general theme and message of her new
song, Sashae writes, “Party vybz [vibes]! Anywhere the party's at,
I'm there. Just the love of music – having a good time.”
Her deep love of music in general is a
main focus in her personal as well as professional life. Asked to
describe how it is that she came to perform and record music at the
very beginning, she keeps it simple.
“[I started music] by just having the love for music, and by coming from Jamaica with a dancehall and reggae background while listening to all genres of music, too.”
“[I started music] by just having the love for music, and by coming from Jamaica with a dancehall and reggae background while listening to all genres of music, too.”
This broad interest in all the
varieties of music available to her appears in her new single as
attributes and elements not necessarily expected in a reggae or
dancehall release, giving her single a fresh, new sheen and sound.

Trevor English releases new single 'Give Mi Little Loving Girl'
The singer and songwriter known as
Trevor English has released his latest single, “Give Mi Little
Loving Girl.” The track has been released on the Takae Records
music label. Full of rhythm and island flavor, “Give Mi Little
Loving Girl” is the most recent reason Trevor English has been
revered as one of the best contemporary reggae performers of the last
three decades both in the United States and the Caribbean, as well as
further abroad.
Trevor English (who is also often
billed as Trevor AKA English) cites as main artistic influences such
legends of the island sound as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Delroy
Wilson, Bob Andy, and former ska artist from the Police, Sting. His
own inimitable singing and music composition style falls not far from
these trees, either. English's singing on “Give Mi Little Loving
Girl” is expertly executed, rich in natural undertones yet
startlingly precise.
This should not come as a surprise, as
Trevor English has been singing professionally for over 25 years.
“I started music at an early age,”
writes the musician, “listening to to all the great reggae artists
of my era.”
Trevor English was born in London,
England to Jamaican parents from Malvern, St. Elizabeth. He emigrated
to California's music hub of Los Angeles in 1982, where he
immediately gained traction as a performer and began to work with
some of the most influential reggae artists of the last three
decades. His roster of legends with whom he has worked reads like a
list of must-hear musicians from the genre: Joe Higgs, Tinga Stewart,
Fully Fullwood, Santa Davis, Tony Chin, Pato Banton, Papa Michigan,
Richie Spice, Warrior King, Konshens, and Yellow Man.
English recently took part in the Sing
with Reggae Legends competition, held at Don the Beachcomber's in
“Surf City,” Huntington Beach, CA.
Asked to describe the message his new
single has for his fans, English said simply, “Love, fun and
harmony.”

Justin Blankenship releases new LP 'Turpentine'
The singer and songwriter known as
Justin Blankenship has released his latest LP record, “Turpentine.”
The record comprises nine original tracks for an approximate total
listening time of 45 minutes. It has been proudly published without
support from the corporate music industry as an entirely independent
release. Heartfelt, raw, highly melodic and narrative, “Turpentine”
by Justin Blankenship is one of the best modern examples of America's
continually evolving folk tradition.
While Blankenship's “Turpentine”
will and should be found most commonly in the folk section of online
music stores, it is peppered with influences from a broad swath of
various genres. Blankenship cites as main artistic inspirations such
disparate artists as: Hank Williams and Soundgarden; Otis Redding and
Tool; Old Crow Medicine Show and Kurt Cobain; Aretha Franklin,
Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, and the Black Keys. This surprising melange
is in addition to a longer list including a great many lesser-known
performers from an even wider sonic territory.
This mentality shows in the creative
variance of “Turpentine” and it's delightfully deliberate.
“I'm always drawn to albums that
aren't so formulaic,” Blankenship writes. “I like stylistic
variety to be present and intentional. That's something I strive for
when creating an album, always expecting it to somehow all fit
together in it's own way without having to be forced.”
The elasticity of Blankenship's style
emerges as an effect of his multifaceted musical personality. His
songs change in sound, tone, and theme sometimes radically, yet
somehow dovetail to make a consistent whole.
Blankenship writes, “This album is as
random as my own life. It's an accurate reflection of my transiency,
while reminding the listener that simply because something refuses to
be clung to or captured, doesn't mean it can't stay with you in other
ways. It's also a challenge to the audience to find value in that
which is not so methodically gathered together and packaged to be
easily digested by some undiscerning lowest-common-denominator.”
And the album's title?
“Turpentine is a solvent. And much
like a solvent, my main object is to dissolve other substances:
mainly expectations, genres, standards of perfection, etc.”

Meditation Toronto releases new album 'Mantra Meditation'
The yoga group known as Meditation
Toronto have released their new EP music album, “Mantra
Meditation.” The record has been released by Meditation Toronto,
also sometimes billed as the Toronto Meditation Group. Although
“Mantra Meditation” is listed as an EP for containing just five
original tracks, it has an approximate total listening time of 45
minutes and is therefore longer than many full-length releases.
“Mantra Meditation” is intended as accompaniment to the ancient
practice of mantra meditation, but serves equally well as soothing
music in general.
The sound of “Mantra Meditation” is
mellow and natural, guided by delicate female vocals in the tradition
of India's best-loved kirtan and mantra singers. Its instrumentation
is tastefully composed and played in such a way as to not obstruct
the listener's peace of mind, but rather to enhance the meditation
experience by providing a refreshing and uplifting environment. Songs
from the record may be sampled at the Meditation Toronto official
website (link provided below).
“We are a group of people who
meditate,” writes Meditation Toronto. “We practice and teach an
ancient form of yoga known as mantra meditation. Mantras are
spiritual or transcendental sounds that have a soothing effect on the
soul. We teach others how to meditate free of charge.”
The group's official website describes
meditation with the following:
“Although meditation is
oftentimes thought to be nothing more than a method for stress relief
and the improvement of physical health, the real value of meditation
goes far beyond these benefits. The immediately noticeable effects of
meditation are that we feel a little lighter, less burdened by
artificial 'needs' and desires. We become calmer and more relaxed.
Gradually we will develop insight with regard to our true needs and
how we can attain real satisfaction and happiness.”
They also describe the
effects of meditation as not only bringing relief from stress and
anxiety, but also giving the practitioner a taste of spiritual
happiness. “A happiness that is beyond the senses and mind,” they
write “– a happiness in the heart.”
Meditation Toronto's
message for their “Mantra Meditation” EP can be summarized in
this short blessing taken from their site.
“Take a break from the
world. Rest your heart and mind. Be happy and satisfied by
experiencing your inherent spiritual nature.
“Welcome to the world of
meditation, the spiritual essence of yoga! You are very welcome to
attend any of our meditation events or come to a free meditation
class.”

De Lion release new LP 'Ego Maniacs'
The alternative rock crew known as De
Lion have released their latest LP album, “Ego Maniacs.” The
record comprises eleven original tracks for an approximate total
listening time of 45 minutes. It has proudly been published without
support from the corporate music industry on the Ariel De Lion
independent record label. A modern, creative twist on the alt-rock
and grunge tradition of the early 1990s, “Ego Maniacs” is a
colorful and thought-provoking record that proves there are still
unique sounds yet to be found in rock music today.
De Lion (often stylized De///Lion) cite
as main artistic influences some of the most avant-garde and
intelligent rock groups ever to hit the stage or studio: System of a
Down, Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Chris Cornell, Amen,
Anti-Flag, Crass, and Radiohead. Of these especially, De Lion have
blended the funky, offbeat feel and precision songwriting of System
of a Down with the shadowy, skulking undertones of Alice in Chains to
arrive at a character that is all their own. Fans of any / all the
aforementioned artists will be enthused by the similarities and
surprising singularities of De Lion on “Ego Maniacs.”
De Lion are composed of brothers Yaron
and Adi Vaknin, Carla Saul, and Ariel De Lion, all hailing from Tel
Aviv and New York respectively. Early recordings of “Ego Maniacs”
became a popular background score to the Occupy Wall Street movement,
as its lyrics are exactly worded and politically charged in the vein
of acts such as Rage Against the Machine, Crass, and Dead Kennedys.
Topics include such themes as dictatorships, celebrities, and nuclear
warheads.
De Lion's first single, “Trash,
Birds? Rats. Idea!” has been in regular circulation on hundreds of
radio stations in the U.S. since its original publication. The
animated video of the title track from their new LP, “Ego Maniacs,”
has been viewed many thousands of times and was featured at the
Sacramento film and Music Festival, CA, as well as in many online
magazines.

Fadi Awad's New Awesome Album "Ultimate Selection"!
On the 27th of May 2014, Fadi Awad has
released his new album "Ultimate Selection", distributed
through the same panel that distributes to Universal Music Group
digitally! The album contains new versions of many existing tracks
that fit radios, clubs and more... As well as 2 brand new tracks: A
mash up of "Take Me Higher & Into Deep", and the long
instrumental mix of his upcoming single "World Soccer",
that will be released in June! A single that fits all the Soccer
tournaments, starting from FIFA WORLD CUP 2014!...
After being posted by Juno Download for
around a week as Pre-Release, the album has made it and leaded the
sales charts of Pop-Trance albums there straight after the
release!!!... The album was charted in ITunes new releases chart, as
well as many tracks have been highly charted in Beatport and other
stores which is a good kick off!
"Our team has done a good step
forward! Our aim is to be hosted completely by a Major Company! We
deserve this, we have good charted pieces and wonderful artists on
board! Effective promotion costs a lot these days, we don't have a
sponsor and we have families to feed!" and Fadi proceeded: "I'm
not a limited electronic music producer, I'm a music producer and
composer who composes many good genres! We always try not to imitate
anyone! We have our own style that is in the middle between Music &
Electronic Music, taking from what we consider good from new and old
styles, which gives our music a distinguish flavor... We take what is
beautiful from everywhere because the good music doesn't have an
expiry date! Many artists do that... After all, when you consider
music composing a limited science project, it's not music anymore...
We basically do music for audience ears from all ages, that's why we
focus on the beauty of the melodies and we avoid using noisy
instruments and over using effects to cover our musicology weakness,
because it doesn't exist!!! We are Musicians, we studied music, we
play music & play on music instruments, we are not Webmasters who
work in music composing! Notice that most of our singers are
professionals, perform with top bands, and we even have famous ones
on board, not just simple vocalists. And, we don't use vocoders in
our recordings!... I do many genres because I've been in the industry
since 1986 and been there when many genres went up and down, so I'm
naturally influenced by the good tracks from many good genres! In the
80s & 90s and in the first years of the second millenium, the
radios & clubs didn't use to hire DJs unless they test them well
in every good genre! Not like now... The old school days were
different. We counted on our hands to build up, not basically on
technology... We now respect every old and new artist & think
that they should respect the same way we do... Making fun of old
artists & bands is ironic, childish, & unprofessional because
those who do this don't even have the quarter of music Awards &
achievements that were earned & done by those old gold Legends...
It's better for everyone to focus on minding their own businesses to
dig their ways to success... I do believe that it is time for the
DJs/Producers to unite more in the Industry! It's not necessary to
collaborate only with those who produce your same genre! On the
contrary, collaboration is more successful with different producers
because the volume of audience will grow more and you both introduce
yourselves to each others fans! It's like the different fingers in a
hand! I've been asking all the nations since 1998 to do Governmental
Syndicates for DJs to organize this job and to secrure a better
future for all the DJs (just like labors and all...)! We hope that
many DJs work on this matter effectively to achieve it as well, it is
needed because if this job continues to go backwards, the real DJ
will soon add to his long jobs list "GOGO DANCER"!!!"
At that time, everyone who were there
laughed, then a reporter asked him: "We have noticed last year
and the years before that many brilliant International Artists were
honored in USA, which is good for them, while their countries main
music & media institutions didn't even know about their existence
& achievements, or pretended not to! Generally speaking, isn't it
a humiliation for such local institutions when their local artists
are discovered, evaluated and honored abroad, in a Major Music
Country, without being discovered and supported locally first? How do
you explain this???"... Fadi replied:" USA was always been
and still the Mother of the international English Music Artists. It
has the biggest capacities & the best policies to discover, help
and promote international artists based on clear requirements (high
talent level, clear criteria...). Throughout the History, the
majority of the Legends & Artists became famous due to their
concerts & deals done in USA & still... In the music and
media institutions, there are Star Makers and copy pastors... USA's
music and media institutions are the leading Star Makers worldwide...
Generally speaking, the policy and the capacity of every music &
media institution in the world vary! But after all, the institution
is like a person, they handle all the responsibilities &
consequences of their decisions and business policies... If the
decisions taken are right, they will collect good results, if the
decisions & policies are wrong, I don't think that they are
stronger than the Old Empires on Earth who took wrong decisions that
assisted in making them weak, then weaker, before they vanished!...
Finally, we are always open for serious approaches with everyone,
without any exception! Our policy is to gather and not to divide! But
it is normal to give the priority of effective support to all those
who effectively support us! We are loyal people who give according to
what they get! Last but not least, I thank all who participated from
every side in doing & releasing my new album, hoping for the best
:)"...
A general useful press conference by
artist Fadi Awad in this new release occasion, wishing this album a
big success, stay tuned to all future related news & follow-ups!:

DJ SeanKev releases new LP album 'HouseFunkysco'
The DJ from New York's Queens borough
known as DJ SeanKev has released his latest LP album,
“HouseFunkysco.” The record comprises 16 original tracks for an
approximate total listening time of a full hour. It has been
published on the AMAdea Music record label. Funky, groovy, and packed
with the genuine nightclub sound of the early 1990s, “HouseFunkysco”
is the latest example in DJ SeanKev's growing repertoire that he may
be Queens' most talented emcee on wax.
DJ SeanKev is notable for his
rock-solid skills at matching beats, sculpting a playlist, and
creating colorful, inventive new material from mere fragments of
audio. But what marks SeanKev as truly outstanding is his devotion to
the authentic methods and traditions of disc-jockeying: he does it
all with vinyl records from the period. His disco comes from the
'70s. His old-school beats come from the '80s. Now, with this latest
installment, SeanKev proves that he can do it with the sounds of the
early 1990s.
“I'm releasing my second dance album
which contains some real, vintage, funky, '90s-style house music,”
writes SeanKev.
SeanKev's other LP releases, “1982
Disco, Funk and Soul” and “Soul Trap Music,” have been
garnering him a loyal and populous following since their releases in
2013. These newcomers are only happy additions to a fan base he's
been inspiring since his first performances in the clubs of the
1990s.
Speaking of “HouseFunkysco,” he
writes: “My album shares a real divine message in dancing and
feeling free to the music. It gives off a certain vibe to the body
and soul. Takes a person back to the good old days in New York City,
when the clubs of my era (the '90s) were the place to be.”
Make no mistake, SeanKev brings the
funk and soul of the '80s alive just as well, but he's truly at home
spinning music from 1990-1999, as the results show.
“I had a real good time producing
this sound for the world to enjoy,” writes SeanKev.
SeanKev cites as main artistic
influences Tee Scott, Larry Joseph, Boyd Jarvis, Larry Levan and “all
the vintage club heads.” Sporting a well-deserved degree of fame in
the old-school DJ subculture, SeanKev has mixed with some true,
modern titans, Natasha Diggs among them.

Pete McCabe releases new LP 'Homeward'
The singer and songwriter known as Pete
McCabe has released his latest LP record, “Homeward.” The
full-length album comprises 14 original tracks for an approximate
total listening time of nearly an hour. It has been published on the
LazyCats Records music label. Usually filed in the folk and
contemporary folk music sections of digital and vinyl record stores,
“Homeward” is a monument to McCabe's sonic and lyric ingenuity,
and solidifies his place in the chronicles of American songwriting as
a whole.
Pete McCabe first took this place with
the release of his 1973 record, “The Man Who Ate the Plant,”
produced by the legendary Bill Szymczyk who later produced the Eagles
and other titans. The LP has become known among audiophiles
everywhere for its unabashed blend of pop and folk music sharpened
with tinges of psychedelic rock.
“The orchestral arrangements from
that record are echoed in my current music,” McCabe writes.
And indeed they are. Fans of folk music
will find all their time-honored traditions intact on “Homeward,”
but scaled up to include sweeping instrumental rises and soaring,
multi-tiered harmonies. Inspirations from a great many musical
subcultures are present, giving the album a swirling myriad of colors
which easily arrest and mystify the listener. The source of this
variety is McCabe's own mixing bowl of influences.
“My folk background included
influences from singer-songwriters Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and James
Taylor,” he writes. “Along the way there was a bit of Dixieland
and jazz. My greatest influence was the Beatles. More recent
influences include Randy Newman and Stephen Sondheim.”
Fans of lyric precision and creativity
are likely to be especially pleased.
“Many of my lyrics are informed by my
lifelong obsession with movies. My overriding desire is to offer
words and music that are truly original.”
Asked to describe the general themes
and messages of his new album, McCabe describes it thus:
“Each song is a world to explore.
Each has its own style and personality, yet as a whole the collection
is unified by a strong point of view. A sense of humor as well as a
sensitive look at human relationships and a fondness for fantasy and
dreams inform the lyrics. I want the listener to look at the world in
a new way. There are meanings and emotions to be found in ourselves
that different genres of music and unusual lyrics can awaken. Good
old songwriting craft can still transport us beyond what so much of
the marketplace offers these days.”

'The Politician' Rico Sanchez releases new single 'Let's Do That Sh-t'
DJ Rico Sanchez, usually billed as “the
Politician,” has released his most recent electronic dance-floor
anthem, “Let's Do That Sh*t.” The track has been published
entirely without help from the corporate music industry on the Last
Nights DJ independent music label. It is occasionally listed online
as “Let's Do This Sh*t.” Heavy hitting, highly danceable,
and extremely infectious, “Let's Do That Sh*t” by DJ Rico Sanchez
the Politician is a surefire entry in the EDM and house-music
Best-of-2014 lists, and sure to unite party goers in nightclubs
around the world.
DJ Rico Sanchez has cited as main
artistic influences such popular studio musicians and electronic
music producers as David Guetta, Justice, Steve Aoki, Knife Party,
Bad Boy Bill, Designer Drugs, Benny Benassi, UTKU, Dave Spoon,
Axwell, and Calvin Harris. Fans of the above will be enthusiastic
about the many and various qualities the Politican has taken from
these legends of the turntable.
“Let's Do That Sh*t” is an
extremely high-energy song that brings an unusually extreme level of
intensity with its back beat and house-music instrumentation. This
high energy isn't empty or pointless, either. Sanchez intends to
communicate a message of determination with his new single.
Speaking of these themes for his new
track, Sanchez writes, “This
song captures that moment of decision and pressure right before you
make the next move, before you take that step that can literally kill
you. It's a momentum building energy driven fueled anthem to make you
take that next step in full. To keep it simple, it builds on that
very moment of adrenaline and quick decision making into what can be
your undoing or your very next achievement in life.”
DJ Rico “the Politician” Sanchez is
a global performer. He has played shows and parties in New York,
India, Australia, and Florida. His stage name, “the Politician,”
comes from his reputation for welcoming celebrities and high-profile
socialites to performances on his guest list, and for his knack for
leading party-goers through the roof. When he’s not composing his
own music, he spins for dance parties everywhere there is music.
“Let's
Do That Sh*t” by Rico Sanchez the Politician is available online
worldwide.
