Michael Heathen releases debut solo album '#uck Cancer'

The songwriter and producer of hip hop known as Michael Heathen has released his official solo debut LP, “#uck Cancer.” The record is a charity release with all proceeds benefiting the medical bills of Heathen's mother and others likewise afflicted.

#uck Cancer” contains 12 original Michael Heathen tracks for an approximate total listening time of half an hour. Like his other material, it has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry on the G.L.O.A.T. Ent. record label. Direct, packed with grooves, and surprisingly heartfelt, “#uck Cancer” showcases Michael Heathen as one of the most intriguing hip-hop artists the American South has to offer, and promises he has plenty more where that came from.

In addition to the considerable talents of Michael Heathen, himself, “#uck Cancer” also features two performances by his longtime collaborator, G. Champion.

The Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex's Michael Heathen cites as main artistic influences Led Zeppelin, Tech N9ne, Common, Eminem, Bone Thugs n' Harmony, and Tupac Shakur. Heathen's own sound takes elements from each of these and adds something fresh and unique for a result unlike anything today's music fans have heard before. With an emphasis on verbal gymnastics, gangsta-style instrumentation and enough bass to rattle any license plate, “#uck Cancer” by Michael Heathen has a little something for everybody.

Asked to describe the overall meaning of “#uck Cancer,” Michael Heathen writes: “This album was meant to be my first solo album release, and it is. However, it is now transformed into a vessel to give back. All proceeds from the album will be going to my mom to help recoup her medical bills from her fight against breast cancer, the same cancer that took her mother and sister.”

The Heathens come from strong stock, however.

My mom beat the cancer,” he writes, “but it still took a toll. I want to be able to help her back to her feet like she always did for me. If, for whatever reason, this album exceeds that type of sales, then the proceeds in excess of my mom's bills will go to help others in similar situations.”

#uck Cancer” by Michael Heathen on the G.L.O.A.T. Ent. label is available from over 600 quality digital music stores online worldwide now. Get in early, hip hop fans.

David Rosenblad releases new album 'Aquarius Rising'

Indie pop, rock and alternative musician David Rosenblad has released his latest official album, “Aquarius Rising.” It has been proudly published as an independent release on the Thirteenth Moon Studio record label. Broadly varied, epic in scope, and exhibiting talents stemming from a kaleidoscopic career in professional music production, “Aquarius Rising” showcases David Rosenblad as an unsung veteran of the art with more music in him than a paragraph could ever describe.

David Rosenblad writes, performs, records and produces music in his own Thirteenth Moon Studio at Austin, TX. He has cited as main artistic influences The Beatles, Miles Davis, Sting, Ravi Shankar, and Peter Gabriel, though his own spiritually tinged style tends always to color outside the lines. Accordingly, with an emphasis on tonal quality, razor-sharp audio production and uber-intuitive songwriting, “Aquarius Rising” by David Rosenblad has a little something for fans of any music genre.

A studio titan in his own right, David Rosenblad has worked with Everclear, Cheap Trick, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bad Company, Sara Hickman (“Motherlode”), Chrysta Bell (David Lynch), David Newman (“Heathers,” “Bill & Ted's...”), Kirtan artist Dave Stringer, and jazz legend Herbie Mann among a great many others.

Asked to describe the themes of his new “Aquarius Rising” album, Rosenblad writes: “This is an album about Awakening among other things. I am thrilled to offer my latest collection of songs titled after my ascendant (rising sign) Aquarius, which is presently so pertinent in my life and in changes in and all around us as a people and planet. I hope it's fun and nourishing for you to listen to!”

David Rosenblad often performs live at concerts, parties, and Unity spiritual centers, and also enjoys providing electro-acoustic interactive music for yoga and sound-healing events. Rosenblad has been a featured artist at Austin’s International Day of Yoga for many years. He also performs in a popular duo with Kirsten Carter, Venus the Rose (link provided below).

Rosenblad's TV and film credits include work for PBS, A&E, AXS-TV, ThinkFilm, Universal, and many others, with more than 30 credits in feature films and television series. Details may be found on his official IMDB page. His current official bio states that “One of his greatest joys comes in playing music to raise the vibrations of those around him.”

Maybesoon release new official video 'Everfall'

The electropop duo known as Maybesoon has released their latest official video, “Everfall.” It has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry on the Hill Street Records record label. A joint effort exhibiting drama, songwriting, stage direction and precise studio production, “Everfall” presents Maybesoon as a visual music project fans of any art form can appreciate. See below for link to “Everfall,” the official video.

Maybesoon (stylized maybesoon) are recording/visual artist Jayme Woj and producer Alan Bukowiecki. They cite as main musical influences Bjork, Pet Shop Boys, Robyn, Radiohead, Erasure, and Swedish artist Jonna Lee. Maybesoon's own sound on “Everfall” takes elements from each of these and adds many fresh and unique elements for a melange all their own.

The official video for “Everfall” has a coherent character from start to finish exhibiting all the duo's talents – which is to say, there's a lot of art packed in there.

We are currently creating a series of singles and music videos that fuse electronic music with body paint and new emerging technologies to give our fans unique audiovisual experiences,” write Maybesoon in their current official bio.

This amalgam of artistry makes plenty of sense, considering the pedigree of the musicians. Woj and Bukowiecki both come from musical theater, with the former performing as a Hollywood actor, singer, visual artist and stunt performer, the latter as a Broadway musician, conductor and composer.

Asked to describe the overall meaning of “Everfall,” Maybesoon write, “Everfall was written during a time when frontman Jayme Woj experienced the loss of multiple family members and close friends in quick succession. He wrote the lyrics about the struggles those closest to him were experiencing as they were all forced to navigate and cope with the loss of their loved ones.”

Writing the lyrics was really my way of trying to make sense of all the different ways people around me were processing their grief,” says Woj. “I never intended to actually put it to music. A few months later … I played a character who was helping his lover move through the stages of grief. Working on the film was a very healing experience for me … After we finished the film I wanted to honor both the loved ones I lost and the character I played who helped me cope, so Alan and I put the lyrics to music.”

The full, in-depth interview may be read at the band's official website (link provided below).

Everfall” represents the sophomore release from Maybesoon, their debut being “Reverie,” also on Hill Street. It appeared in summer 2019.
