Rapper Alex Sawyer releases new single 'Relapse'

Luke Underhill releases new EP 'Back to November'

The singer-songwriter known as Luke Underhill has released his latest EP, titled, “Back to November.” The album is comprised of six original songs for an approximate total listening time of 20 minutes. The record is Underhill's most anticipated and significant official release since his 2012 debut, a CD intended primarily as a press kit, titled, “Introducing Luke Underhill.” “Introducing...” is a solo, acoustic record containing six cover songs and three Underhill originals that jump started his fledgling music career, and which proved in short order that the entertainer would no doubt be forthcoming with more.

Underhill cites as main artistic influences such artists as Jason Mraz and John Mayer, though he considers Bruce Springsteen, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay to be the main influences on his writing style. Elements of all these are easily noted in the mood and tone of Underhill's music. His chord progressions often invoke the patterns of '80s rock and contemporary pop music.

Interestingly enough also, though attributes of their infamous sound do not appear in work by Luke Underhill, Australian rockers AC/DC figure somewhat prominently in his personal music history.

“I was watching an AC/DC concert DVD when I was 8,” Underhill relates, “and watching Angus Young having so much fun made me want to learn how to play the guitar. The first song I learned from my music teacher was T.N.T.”

As may be intuited from his listing Jason Mraz and John Mayer as favorite musical acts, Underhill's lyrical themes are interpersonal and often romantic in nature.

He comments on the meanings inherent in “Back to November,” “One of the most important things in life, is having a good, trustworthy, and strong relationship with someone in this world. Everyone deserves to be loved, everyone deserves to be cared for, everyone deserves to be happy.”

Underhill was born in 1995 in Chicago, IL, adopted by his parents at birth, and raised in Yorkville. His sister, also adopted, is little more than two months younger. His “Back to November” record is the first in a series of three EP records he intends to publish in the coming months.

Ryan and Fi release new single 'Song for Luke'

The musical duo known as Ryan and Fi have released their latest single, “Song for Luke.” The single is in memoriam of singer Ryan's brother, Luke who died tragically while climbing last year. “Song for Luke” is the most significant official release from Ryan and Fi in recent months and will be followed by another single, “Well Together” on December 10^th. “Song for Luke” is a work of great humanity and beauty in equal parts, undeniably moving music that seizes the listener at once and caresses rather than plucks the heartstrings. Ryan and Fi is the professional stage name of Ryan and Fiona, who have been playing in the Australian music underground throughout Sydney for ten years in various ensembles. The lyrical content of “Song for Luke” is not gloomy. It is a peaceful assertion of one's connection to all things from a natural perspective, not unlike the transcendentalist works of poets like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Walt Whitman. Ryan declares the happy presence of his brother in the wind and the trees. Neither is “Song for Luke” a work of catharsis. It is very simply Ryan's explanation to the world that, clearly, life is omnipresent and death is not at all.

“Its main message is one of hope, love and letting go,” write Ryan and Fi. It is Ryan and Fi’s hope that this song can help others who have been through similar experiences to better deal with the pain of loss. It also includes the message of life after death and that loved ones are still there, only in a different sense.”

Rocko-Rocks releases new single 'Tell Me What You're All About'

The rock musician from the Bronx, New York known as Rocko-Rocks has released his latest and greatest EP record to date, titled, “Tell Me What You're All About.” The album is comprised of five original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 20 minutes. Rocko-Rocks began his music career at the age of five, playing drums and percussion. His move to California was intended solely for the sake of forwarding his artistic efforts. The move worked, and by 15 he was performing live in an opening rock group for bands such as Megadeth and Lita Ford. For years he played in the Central and Southern California circuits until his crew disbanded, and he began to find it difficult to find rock venues as the atmosphere quickly changed to a pop and hip-hop mentality.

This was the beginning of the current, contemporary Rocko-Rocks sound, which is signified by his overlaying rock 'n' roll elements such as keyboard and guitar on top of R 'n' B and hip-hop beats. The result is an amalgam of danceable pop music that feels like traditional house, yet retains the singing and the riffs of nightclub rock 'n' roll.

“I have a wide range of influences,” Rocko-Rocks writes, “from Dream Theater and Whitesnake to Rush. Since I play drums and enjoy the dance stuff as well, I also like Bruno Mars, Usher, Katy Perry, and Chris Brown.”

The themes of his new EP are largely interpersonal.

“It's a mix of relationship material,” he comments on this, “from girlfriends' head games to having a long-distance relationship.”

DJ SeanKev has released his latest LP 'SeanKev 1982'

The DJ from New York known as SeanKev has released his latest LP record album, “SeanKev 1982 Disco, Funk & Soul.” The album is entirely mixed in the traditional analog method, which utilizes hi-fi, 12” and 45 RPM vinyl records rather than digitized CD recordings. The result is a warm, true sound that preserves the genuine wavelengths of the actual, live sound captured on the vinyl medium. SeanKev's “1982” LP is comprised of 17 tracks and a mammoth bonus album mix, for an approximate total listening time of two-and-a-quarter hours. It has been released on the SeanKev Records music label.

“SeanKev 1982” is perhaps the only album of its kind to be officially published this millennium, the traditional disco-DJ art having given way to electronic house music DJs perhaps as early as 1990. SeanKev, who is often referred to by his professional nickname, “Doctor of the Mix,” was raised in Queens, NY during the 1980s. His uncle was a DJ for many years and helped to nurture his nephew's musical talent. SeanKev's record collection began twenty years ago, in 1994.

“My album is a vintage sound that dates back into the early '80s dance, funk and disco scene,” the artist writes. “It gives you an idea of that raw warmth sound from clubs like the Paradise Garage, and Zanzibar, and Happy Day’s.”

As a child, SeanKev would save his lunch money to buy records.

“Even as a youth,” his official artist's bio reads, “he felt that soul music was a way of life and a spiritual pathway to healing oneself.”

By 1995, he had begun creating professional-grade mixtapes that catered to the generation of his elders. As his bio tells it, “The older generation took him in as a son of soul music. While building his vast collection of abstract boogie and funk records, he became good friends with legendary producer, Boyd Jarvis, who was introduced to him through Ricky Wilcock. Boyd, who produced many classics in the '80s dance scene, taught SeanKev about the Paradise Garage, of which SeanKev’s father was a member. With this newfound knowledge, SeanKev realized the true value of the dance culture.”

SeanKev cites as main artistic influences such legends on wax as Tee Scott, Larry Joseph, Boyd Jarvis, Larry Levan and “all the vintage club heads.” Among these greats his name certainly belongs, as any listener will tell you after spending mere moments with any portion of “1982.” Sporting a well-deserved degree of fame in the old-school DJ subculture, SeanKev has mixed with some true modern titans, such as Natasha Diggs, as well as others.

Our Untold Story release new music video 'Hell House'

The rock crew from Amsterdam known as Our Untold Story have released their newest music video, titled, “Hell House.” The music video has been concurrently released with a behind-the-scenes short, featured on the official Our Untold Story YouTube channel. Set to the first single from their debut, self-titled EP released in January of 2013, “Hell House” takes the listener on a visual tour through the most-shadowy of the songs on their eponymous record.

Listeners unfamiliar with Our Untold Story may draw parallels between OUS and artists with particularly dark, punk-rock roots, such as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, or the Cramps. Their EP album, “Our Untold Story,” is a heroic journey in the traditional literary sense of the term. The band have no difficulties describing the plot of the record.

“The album depicts the story of lead singer, Xander, and his journey from his dark past through his teen years before finding the light,” writes Our Untold Story. “In the album we follow Xander as he steps into his darkest dreams within the 'Hell House.' [He then] fights with his inner demons and past relationships in 'Devil Woman' before finding his true love, who consumes his every thought in 'Interlude.'”

At this point, the plot of the album takes a turn for the better.

“In 'Rosy,'” they continue, “Xander reminisces and passes on his knowledge of the darker side of life, sharing both the good and the evil before rounding off with an ironic and fun-loving finale in 'She’s the Girl,' where everything finally ends up as it should be.”

The video showcases Our Untold Story as the dynamic and charismatic band they are famous in Europe for being. Singer Turian, as seen in the various live videos available for viewing online, befriends his audiences right away, and continues feeding this rapport from start to finish of every performance.
