The songwriter and producer of house &
UK garage known as Dark & Stormy has released his latest official
EP album and first full-on techno release, “Rain Dance.” The EP
album contains four original Dark & Stormy tracks largely
recorded live PA style for an approximate total listening time of 15
minutes. It has been proudly published as an independent release on
Morabito's new imprint, The 10 Room. Futuristic yet founded on the
original techno styles of the 1990s, “Rain Dance” showcases Dark
& Stormy as one of the most intriguing artists of the year so far
and promises that he has plenty more where that came from.
Brooklyn, NY's Dark & Stormy cites
as main artistic influences John Coltrane, Truncate, Mr. Fingers,
Roni Size, and LTJ Bukem. Stormy's own sound takes elements from each
of these and adds something fresh and unique. With an emphasis on
percussion, 90s rave vibes and plenty of unique innovation for a
contemporary flair “Rain Dance” by Dark & Stormy has a little
something for everybody.
Dark & Stormy began his music
career playing in bands, a pedigree which audibly informs his
songwriting. He has been making dance music for over a decade now.
Asked to describe the overall meaning
of “Rain Dance,” Dark & Stormy writes, “This EP is really
inspired by the sort of silence that sets in on a snowy cold night in
New York. I wanted to create songs that evoked that feeling that you
get from those types of moments but also something that you could
dance to.”
Dark & Stormy is NYC's John
Morabito. in Brooklyn, NY. His tracks have seen support from Dubfire,
Umek, Angel Stoxx, Mikix the Cat, Jonathan Ulysses, Sideburn, Timo
