Atlanta rhythm-and-blues chanteuse Asia Major has released her new single, “Girlz Got Game,” feat. Wacka Flocka on Vin Music Group.  This release marks her newest global success, placing it among the series which also includes “I Don’t Need a Man.”  These tracks have been embraced by disc jockeys at clubs and radio stations alike, with plays reported from coast-to-coast, as well as from continent-to-continent.  Internet fans have been excalmatory and generous with critical praise, and her videos have garnered over a million views within a single year.

While it may seem unlikely for an emerging artist to collect so much praise so early in her career, Asia Major emulates the cool, soulful crooning of RnB’s best female vocalists.  Among her influences she cites only legends: Whitney Houston, Patti Labelle, Anita Baker, Beyonce, and Aretha Franklin.  The clean overtones of these leading ladies are ever-present in Asia Major’s performance on “Girlz Got Game,” her low notes like chocolate over hot coals in the tradition of Baker, her high notes clarion and crystalline like Houston and Franklin.

It must not be understated, however, that the track features the talents of Wacka Flocka, who also publishes music under the more auspicious moniker of Wacka Flocka Flame.  Wacka Flocka’s own skills lend both weight and balance to Asia Major’s songbird style, without which “Girlz Got Game” would surely retain its groove and punch, but which add enough force and passion to catapult this particular track to the top position of Vin Music Group’s artist repetoire when Asia Major’s unmatched singing entertwines with the aggression and confident ostentation of Wacka Flocka.
