Rapper Justin Truth releases newest album, “Just Me: The Presence”

New York rap artist Justin Truth (formerly known as Pheucha) has published his newest release on Tattoo Productions, “Just Me: The Presence.”

New York rap artist Justin Truth (formerly known as Pheucha) has published his newest release on Tattoo Productions, “Just Me: The Presence.” The record is street wise, rough, tough, straight-up and entirely composed of Truth's own ostentatious personality. Originally known as Dionycest (a name begotten from a long tradition of rap battles with New York's Najee Tha Don), Justin Truth has been rapping professionally since circa 2000. Though “Just Me: The Presence” is his first full length LP since 2003's locally distributed “By Any Means Necessary,” another full length record from 2005, “Mix Bizness n' Pleasure,” was also cut by Justin Truth. All told, this places the total volume of his recorded material at over fifty official tracks, making him an up-and-coming prolific entertainer in the music industry.
Just Me: The Presence” is itself a voluminous album, being composed of twenty full length, original tracks, some of which reach toward the five minute mark, making this record an incredibly reasonable purchase for fans of the rap music genre (most full-length albums boast, at most, fifteen original tracks).
The overall tone of “Just Me: The Presence” is somewhat dark, not to say melancholy. The rapping is spoken in Truth's rich, rather deep voice, drawled out as if from the shadows of the city. Beats are all original and not derivative, the orchestration of which has been guided by Truth, himself.
Naming as major influences on his work the artists Joe Budden, Jadakiss, and Nas, Justin Truth says of this record that it communicates a simple message to his fans. “Trials are a part of life,” he writes. “There’s not always conviction. You control how bright that light at the end of your tunnel is.”
Just Me: The Presence” is poised to become Truth's most talented and ambitious collection of material yet. The true fan of rap music owes it to himself to experience the sound that comes straight from the underground.
