The composer and performer of Latin pop
known as Henry has released his latest single, titled, “Wiu Wiu”
to widespread critical and fan acclaim. The track is a standout
original for dancing and casual listening alike. The most capital and
striking release from Henry to date, “Wiu Wiu” is poised to
solidify Henry's place in Latin pop at last.
Henry cites as main artistic influences
legends such as Daddy Yankee, Usher, Nelly, and Michael Jackson. Of
these, his own music has most in common with the tunes of Michael
Jackson. His rhythms are infectious, his melodies creative and
lighthearted. With the release of “Wiu Wiu,” it seems Henry is
finally about to breakthrough to the mainstream music listening
public.
This success has not always seemed so
sure. Born in Brooklyn and orphaned at 11, Henry's music career
looked bleak. He went to college to study communications (the closest
his university had to an art major) but dropped out due to
disinterest just a few classes from his graduation. Having moved to
San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, he has released his dream of making music
to the world, and continues to strive for what he truly does best.
His car was sold to buy sound monitors, his laundry room doubles as a
makeshift music studio.
“I just want to be heard by the
world,” he writes candidly, “and to support my family. I have a
wife, a little girl and a baby on the way. I'm very optimistic, and
know that with hard work and perseverance anybody can accomplish
anything they want.”
