The singer and songwriter
of roots reggae known as Bas360 has released his latest album, “Aqui
Vengo (Here I Come).” The album contains eight original tracks for
an approximate total listening time of half an hour. It has been
proudly published on the Steamatic Records independent music label
without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Popping,
hopping, and played deep in the groove, “Aqui Vengo (Here I Come)”
is a sure sign that Bas360 has arrived.
Bas360 cites as main
artistic influences Garnet Silk, Dennis Brown, Micheal Jackson,
Kendrick Lamar, Vybz Kartel, Aidonia. Born in St. Ann, Jamaica, he
notes also that his generation “emerged in the wake of the
influence of Beres Hammond, Ghost and a host of other artistes from
the Lover’s Rock genre.”
Living and performing now
in Los Angeles, Bas360 describes his new record as a reggae-roots
album that “brings the authentic Jamaican sound that people have
grown to love and adore.”
“The songs were
written to deliver a message of love, unity and upliftment,” Bas360
writes, “while maintaining the high level of energy you can find at
reggae festivals. The first song expresses the everyday desire of a
man when he meets a woman for the first time. The next few songs
deliver strong messages of unity and wisdom as I try to align the
people thru hardcore knowledge.”
Or, to put it more
succinctly, “In full, the album is designed to keep you dancing and
thinking at the same time.”
Bas360's popularity
continues to grow through prominent singles including, “Love Is
Like the Sunshine,” “Can’t Cut My Strings,” “She Want It,”
and “Don’t Be Afraid.” His songs have an international
following, powered in part by current circulation on major radio
stations such as Irie FM and ZIP FM.
The current official bio
of Bas360 concludes:
“Though music is
his main priority, Bas360 revels in a wide spectrum of activities,
including, basketball, researching and graphic designing while still
enjoying an active nightlife, performing at clubs, dances and private
parties. Bas360 can be found at the Steamatic Records recording
studio in Winnetka, California writing songs, laying tracks or just
holding a positive vibration with his peers.”
