The rapper and songwriter from Orange
County, Calif. known as Zami has released his official debut single,
“Limit.” An official music video has also been made available.
Both have been proudly published on the Good Guy Music independent
record label without the involvement of the corporate music industry.
Popping, jumping, and accessible to a broad variety of music fans,
“Limit” showcases Zami as a fun, vibrant and compassionate voice
for the 21th century.
10% of all streaming profits from
“Limit” by Zami will be donated to the Maerim Elephant Sanctuary
in Thailand where a portion of the official music video was shot.
Also in Zami's corner are the Karma
Clutch Foundation, and CryptoCurrency and Music, who helped fund this
release.
Zami (born Zameer Kurji) cites as main
artistic influences Jay-Z, Big Sean, Drake, J. Cole, Chance the
Rapper, Logic, Kendrick Lamar, 6lack, Rick Ross, and Travis Scott.
His own sound takes elements of each of these for a resulting panache
that is all his own. Originally a live DJ at the age of 15, Zami's
music builds on strong beats, catchy melody lines and lyrics which
promote social awareness.
Asked to comment on the themes of
“Limit,” Zami writes that “The message of this 'Limit' is to
constantly push yourself further than you've been. Committing to
goals in your life requires sacrifices and goal setting.”
But the single isn't just about
accomplishments. It's also about personal courage.
“Another aspect of the meaning is to
constantly push yourself out of your comfort zone to establish
long-term comfort,” says Zami. “I speak about what getting
uncomfortable can result in … anxiety and depression, specifically.
While these two mental health issues are at an all-time high in our
society, I explain how I overcame my own cases of anxiety and
depression through learning to live in the present. There's a line
about meditation in there that alludes to the 'living in the present'
aspect of things.”
Zami has opened and/or shared stages
such popular artists as Kid Ink, Big Boi (Outkast) Wiz Khalifa,
KRS-One, Ki Ink and Big Sean. He is the brand ambassador for the
Creations for a Cause, which organization he supports by helping to
secure their funding.
“Limit” by Zami is available from
over 600 quality digital music stores online worldwide now. Be sure
not to miss the official music video, also available for listening
and viewing online everywhere.
