Alternative rock project The Feast releases new single 'Victm'

The solo composer and performer of industrial-styled alternative rock known as The Feast has released his latest official single, “Victm.” The track has been proudly published on the Rebel Psalms independent record label without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Driving, chanting, pounding and aggressive, “Victm” showcases The Feast as one of the summer's surprise rock standouts for 2018.

The Feast hails from New Jersey by way of Atlanta, GA. Asked to cite some main musical influences, The Feast names artists from disparate genres: hip hop's Tupac Shakur and XXXTentacion, alt-rock's Nirvana and Korn, and dancehall reggae's Capelton. The Feast's own sound on “Victm” cleaves to the industrial music power of bands like Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails and Pop Will Eat Itself while retaining a unique, live flavor that is all its own.

Also remarkable is that “Victm” has been concurrently released with a haunting a-cappella version, as well as an instrumental-only track.

Commenting on the overall themes of his latest track, The Feast is a man of few words, saying only, “This is vigilante music.”

The Feast has been an artist since childhood. His current official bio describes what it was like penning songs and poems with demons to exorcise.

I would awaken from dreams frustrated that I couldn't remember the melody to songs I had written in my sleep,” he writes.

Sadly, life wasn't about to get easier.

At the age of 17,” writes The Feast, “I was sentenced to 12 years in the Georgia prison system. During this time my music became dark, brazen, and resolute to combat the forces that sought to lead me into despair. The bounce of hip-hop could no longer articulate the screams that raged from my soul and I found a kindred in groups like Rage against the Machine.”

Nevertheless, “Victm” and other songs from The Feast accomplish more than catharsis. They're victory marches.

My music is born from a dark place,” he says, “but always with a sense of triumph and resilience, even if it also carries that darkness with it. I make music for warriors, no matter your fight in life. It's music for those who don't mind fighting dirty.”

Victm” by The Feast is available from over 600 quality digital music stores online worldwide now. Get in early, alt-rock and industrial fans.
