The singer and songwriter of
alternative pop rock known as Beach Wolf has released his latest
official single, “You Got the Moves.” The track has been proudly
published on the Wolf Gang Records independent music label without
the direction of the corporate music industry. Funky, poppy, and
packed with groove, “You Got the Moves” stands as evidence that
Beach Wolf is a music artist for 21st-century nightclubs everywhere.
Beach Wolf cites as main artistic
influences the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Doors, Metronomy,
Lenny Kravitz, and Arctic Monkeys. His sound on “You Got the Moves”
blends the contemporary disco revival style of bands like Foster the
People and Portugal the Man with his own vocal and melodic panache
for a result which is both danceable and fitting for fun, upbeat
playlists in any circumstance.
Asked to comment on the themes of “You
Got the Moves,” Beach Wolf writes, “This single is about love at
first sight on a dance floor. The kind of beauty you never see twice
in your life, the kind of girl that you see and erase everybody else
off the map – the kind of instant love that paralyses you when you
see her dancing, and even if you're generally silver-tongued, makes
you speechless.”
Beach Wolf is the stage name of Thomas
Marfisi, who makes his music and his home in Bastia, Corsica, a
French-Italian isle that is often described as the most beautiful
island in the world.
“I have my little recording studio
here,” Marfisi writes, “and this is where Beach Wolf was born two
years ago. When you listen to my songs, you can feel this rock-n-roll
energy mixed with a strong summer vibe.”
Indeed, photographs of Corsica look
much like the music of Beach Wolf sounds.
“That's why I didn't want to write
under my real name and chose the name Beach Wolf,” he says. “I
wanted to find a new name and a new 'me' for this new project that
would match the songs and what they inspire in me.”
And what does Marfisi want his music to
inspire in others?
“I like to think people will listen
to my songs having a cocktail or driving their car during sunset on a
summer day,” Beach Wolf writes.
