Matt Hoy releases new album 'Touch'

After 10 years with Ali Campbell and his chapter of UB40 and extensive touring in the UK, Europe and throughout the world, the very talented Matt Hoy has found the time to record his first ever solo album “TOUCH”.

Birmingham (UK) born Matt has produced a superb record featuring 11 tracks of modern Reggae music that deliver pure listening pleasure. Collaborations with artistes like 2017 Grammy award nominees Raging Fyah (Best Reggae Album) and a duet with Ali Campbell help to make this a Must Have album for music lovers.

"TOUCH" will be released on Mana Records on October 18th 2019 via Octiive distribution’s worldwide online music stores.

The video for ‘’Happy’’ the first song of the album will be available on most video music streaming networks from October 2019.

Plans for a 2020 UK tour and a tour of New Zealand are at an advanced stage.
The Album launch will be celebrated with a Live Gig @ one of Birmingham’s (UK) most recognised music venue’s ‘’The Hare & Hound’’ on Sunday, October 20th 2019.

''TOUCH'' has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry on the ''Mana Records'' music label. Classy, mellow, and full of groove, “Touch” showcases Matt Hoy as a premier new pop and reggae artist for the new era and promises he's got ''plenty more where that came from''.

Matt Hoy cites George Michael, Prince, and Motown soul as main artistic influences. His own sound takes elements from each of these and adds something fresh and unique for a result unlike anything today's music fans have heard before. With an emphasis on catchy hooks and a metric ton of tenderness “Touch” by Matt Hoy has a little something for everybody.

Asked to describe the overal message of “Touch,” Matt Hoy simply say's, “Celebrate Love, Life and Happiness – always.”

Matt has been performing music since the age of 11. His most formative early work came in the form of a band, Jojunc, which featured Karl Brazil on drums and Sean Barry on keyboards. Playing largely covers of Prince and Jamiroquai as well as selections from Motown, they moved on to originals before splitting up to chase other projects with Brazil joining James Blunt and Robbie Williams, Barry becoming musical director and keyboardist for Olly Murs.

Hoy, himself signed with Sony and teamed up with songwriter Terry Ronald (Kylie Minogue, S Club 7). At this time he shared the stage with several notable figures, such as Boy George, Wet Wet Wet, and Chaka Khan. He later sang backups for Ali Campbell of UB40, which further inculcated the Reggea feel in his style. He continues to play with UB40 featuring Ali & Astro  with which crew he has toured extensively worldwide for the better part of a decade.

Matt Hoy's style on “Touch” has been elsewhere described as, “If George Michael would have done Reggae – this is what it would have sounded like.” In addition to the considerable talents of Hoy, himself, “Touch” also features performances by Ali Campbell and Astro (UB40) and 2017 Grammy Nominees Raging Fyah from Jamaica.
