San Francisco busker Little Happy releases EP 'Hi People'

The popular busker from California's Bay Area known as Little Happy has released her debut official EP album, “Hi People.” The album contains three integral Little Happy singles, “Jealous,” “If This Really Is Goodbye,” and “Little Happy” for an approximate total listening time of 10 minutes. Raw, unadulterated and overflowing with heart and soul, “Hi People” may very well be the most genuine pop-punk record of 2017.

Little Happy cites as main artistic influences Goo Goo Dolls, Smashing Pumpkins, New Found Glory, Phil Collins, Boys Like Girls, and Gin Blossoms. Her music is perhaps most akin to that of New Found Glory, but ultimately her sound and style are her own.

“I feel I've pretty much lived and breathed music all my life,” says Little Happy. “When I was 15, I started writing my own songs. I probably started seriously pursuing it as soon as I left home. That was when I started playing for money at train stations.”

A popular and well-known face around the Bay, Little Happy is mostly famed for busking with her frequent collaborator, DSueetz, but has already been featured on 89.9FM in Vallejo in spite of having no publicity manager nor advertising agents.

If it isn't her upbeat music or the infectious positive attitude with which she infuses each song that is responsible for the growth of her popularity, then it may be her startling work ethic as a music artist.

“I do most of the writing,” she says. “I have probably about 100 songs saved up over the last 10 years. Once in a while, my friend and frequent collaborator, DSueetz contributes a verse or composes the music.”

Asked to comment on the general theme of her new EP, Little Happy writes, “I don't think I'm really trying to share one message in particular. I just write what I feel, and hopefully people can relate to it. I guess if I had any particular message, it would be, stay happy. No matter what happens to me, no matter how bad things get, staying happy always gets me through it.”

“Hi People” from Little Happy is available online worldwide from over 600 quality digital music retailers now.

Electronica artists Raffolade release new single 'The Giraffe'

The Norwegian electronica artists known as Raffolade have released their latest official single, “The Giraffe.” The track has been proudly published on the Killerbörd Productions independent record label without the direction of the corporate music industry. An upbeat, sparkling, and kaleidoscopic shower of rhythmic notes, “The Giraffe” is the latest reason for fans of electronic music to take note of these creative composers from Norway.

Raffolade cite as main artistic influences Jedi Mind Tricks, Placebo, and Yello. Their own style hearkens to the original early '90s sound that launched more electronic music subgenres than most audiophiles remember today, including house, acid house, Euro house, deep house, jungle, ambient, trance, and many, many more. It's a sound filled with clever, amusing samples, rainlike patters of colorful synth tones, and a big, bouncy beat to get feet off the floor.

“We make silly music,” says Raffolade's personal info section at their official website.

Certainly, humor pervades the entire repertoire, of which “The Giraffe” is only the most recent. Other notable and popular official releases available online include “Banshee,” “Deja Vu,” and two versions of “The Wizard.”

Asked to describe the overall theme of “The Giraffe,” Raffolade replies only, “The giraffe is the most beautiful animal in the world!” Asked to talk about how they got into electronica music production to begin with, Raffolade's nameless mastermind remains a man of few words.

“I've been trying to get the voices out of my head!” he says.

The current official bio of Raffolade describes their inception and general character as, “From deep within the Norwegian Fjords comes a new electronica project. With friends from around the globe Raffolade has created some weird and disturbing tunes now to be unleashed on the unsuspecting public.”

“The Giraffe” by Raffolade from Killerbörd Productions is available online worldwide now. Fans of '90s Euro-electronica should definitely get in early. Very early.

Modern jazz artist Łukasz Adamczyk releases new EP 'Affirmative'

The artist of modern jazz known as Łukasz Adamczyk has released his latest EP record, “Affirmative.” The album consists of four original Adamczyk tracks and one bonus for an approximate total listening time of 20 minutes. It has been proudly published as an independent release without the direction of the corporate music industry. Postmodern, spacious, and implementing attributes of electronica, funk, and even classical music, “Affirmative” is clearly a jazz record for the 21st century.

Łukasz Adamczyk is a composer and virtuoso multi-instrumentalist from Kraków, Poland. He cites as main artistic influences Paco de Lucia, Tycho, Christian Scott, Ludovico Einaudi, and (perhaps most notably), “Awareness of myself.”

His music is a blend of modern instrumentation and traditional composition. His pieces are highly narrative, making them suitable for use as soundtracks in cinema and video games. They are also evocative enough to hold the music fan's attention when listening on headphones in an armchair or on a car stereo. Fans of thought-provoking music are likely to take interest in “Affirmative” and other releases from Adamczyk, such as his 2014 album, “After Ego.”

Asked to expand on the themes of his new EP album, Adamczyk writes, “It's instrumental, so its field of interpretation is wide. What inspires me the most is the great energy of joy that comes from being yourself.”

That Adamczyk is excellent at being himself as an artist becomes obvious from the first few bars of his new record, and really from any selection from his repertoire. His sound is attractive to fans of nearly every music genre, but sounds derivative not at all. Even hardcore jazz fiends are likely to find themselves falling into “Affirmative” when the first track begins to play.

Chiefly a bass player (but also skilled at violin, piano, drums, double bass, and bass guitar) Łukasz Adamczyk works as session musician with popular artists such as Zbigniew Preisner, Lisa Gerrard, and Grzegorz Turnau. His song “The Trip” was chosen among the top-fifteen instrumental songs in the International Songwriting Competition in 2014. Selections from this new release of “Affirmative” are also expected to perform well.

“Affirmative” from Łukasz Adamczyk is available online worldwide now. Get in early. Very early.

Composer Jason Gillard releases single 'Determined'

The songwriter, composer and music producer known as Jason Gillard has released his latest official single track, “Determined.” The track has been proudly published as an independent release without the direction or financial support of the corporate music industry. Gilt with synthetic instrumentation and featuring melody lines that are sure to hook listeners of every music genre, “Determined” is an instrumental track which appropriately heralds the start of the autumn 2017 season.

Australian Jason Gillard makes music in the Queensland northeast corner of the land down under. “Determined” represents his first officially distributed song in the vast wilderness of independent music, but it is not his first composition.

“I created pieces of music before 'Determined,'” he writes, “but once that was created I knew I had something special.”

The process of making the present instrumental single contributed much to the end product.

“I use specialized German music creation software to create the tracks,” says Gillard. “It's actually quite funny as half the program is in German, so it made a bit of a challenge to create the tracks.”

Asked to list some main artistic influences, the composer and musician cites only the Irish pop rock group, U2. The flavor of U2 exists in “Determined” in Gillard's prominent use of acoustic guitar and forward placement of the bass guitar in his final mix. His melodies are handled largely by synth brass instruments which sound akin to saxophones and have a warm, harmonious sound.

On the topic of the song's themes, Gillard is a man of few words. He mentions only, “hope,” and “the power to dream.”

“Determined” by Jason Gillard is available online worldwide beginning 12 September 2017.
