Tommy Sistak releases new EP 'Short Songs'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The composer and performer of rock 'n' roll known as Tommy Sistak has released his latest EP music album, titled, “Short Songs.” The album is comprised of 10 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of half an hour, making for a comprehensive treatment of Sistak material and a round introduction to this legitimate and jumping 1960's pop revival.

Sistak cites as main artistic influences such various legends as the Beatles, the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Cheap Trick, Queen, Slade, “and anyone who has recorded good music.” Of these, the two most obvious inspirations to the Tommy Sistak sound are the Beatles and Slade. Sistak's signature sound is purposefully designed after the rock 'n' roll pop style of the 1960s, which centered around three-part vocal harmonies, electric guitars and upbeat drum rhythms. This resulting tone is absolutely reminiscent of the Beatles' iconic early sound as heard on songs such as “Love Me Do” and “Hard Day's Night.”

Sistak's songwriting is one of his strongest allures, however, and in this he has more in common with the oft-overlooked UK band, Slade, who managed 17 consecutive Top-20 hits with six of them at No. One, making them the most popular British rock band of the '70s according to sales of single tracks. Their standard verse-chorus form of pop composition follows precisely with the trend of '60s rock music, and in this Tommy Sistak has like interests.

“I’m attempting to re-create some fun and interesting simple melodic songs that were present in the 1960s,” Sistak writes. “The two-and-a-half-minute pop song seems to be missing these days. Hoping to present some songs that will stick in one’s head.”

Intuitively, Sistak's “Short Songs” is populated almost uniformly with tracks between two and a half and three minutes. The product is an EP that never gets tiresome, as its themes are widely varied across 10 singles with an overall length that is refreshingly brief while remaining sonically rich and textured.

Tommy Sistak grew up playing in garage bands in suburban Chicago. He was a longtime member of the well-known and respected band, Bagshot Row, with whom he has shared the stage with Davy Jones of the Monkees, Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits, and Eric Burdon and the Animals.

“Short Songs” by Tommy Sistak is available online worldwide beginning 3 January 2014.

DJ Narc releases newest single 'Me Gusta La Fiesta'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The international composer of digital dance music known as DJ Narc (often stylized NARC) has released his latest single, titled, “Me Gusta La Fiesta.” The track is the newest in a steady stream of releases from DJ Narc which began in October of 2013 with his official debut track, “The Narcharmonic Orchestra.” This was followed closely in November by “The Narcharmonic Voyage” and “Sonic Accelerations,” as well as in December with “The Doppler Effect.” With this new dance track, DJ Narc has added decidedly Latin tones to his repertoire and proven yet again that his style is varied, complex, and well-suited to any atmosphere at which his sounds might be featured.

DJ Narc has maintained that his musical inspirations are rooted in records by contemporary legends like the Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, or Calvin Harris.

“But,” he notes, “this song has more of a Latin flavor to it.”

The Latin sound DJ Narc has created is largely based on a bright, blasting trumpet and a Central American groove that rolls between beats rather than jumping from one to the next. His talent for isolating a desired mood from song to song with innate precision is once again shown to be effective in “Me Gusta La Fiesta,” the title of which is Spanish for, “I like the party.”

“This is a tune that should make people want to get up and start dancing,” DJ Narc writes, but with a Latin vibe. This is more than just a fist pumping track.”

Having begun his musical journey on the campus of UCLA disk-jockying at parties, Narc is no stranger to getting fists in the air. One of his latest performances was at the World Series of Beach Volleyball in Long Beach, CA in July of 2013, where the event coordinators Tweeted, “If you're at the #WSOBV and you find yourself rocking out outside the stadium, that's thanks to @DJNarc. Go say hi to him at the DJ booth.”

10Fold Entertainment, who acted as the event promoter for the WSOBV later Tweeted their own deep appreciation, saying, “You were amazing this past week! Thank you for providing such great music!!!! LOVED the music, and two words... boy bands. The crowd loved you!”

DJ Narc's “Me Gusta La Fiesta” is available online worldwide 3 January 2014.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The singer and songwriter of pop and hip-hop music known as Maverik has released his latest new single, titled, “She Likes It.” The track has been released jointly on the Star Since Birth Entertainment and Pushkeys music record labels, produced by Balistic and mixed by Hush. It has been concurrently published along with his new, official Maverik music video for “She Likes It,” shot on location at the beachfront of his hometown in Boston, MA. A hugely danceable hip-hop track with Caribbean flavors and an unstoppable violin melody line, “She Likes It” is obvious proof that Maverik is a name to watch in the coming months.

Maverik cites as main artistic influences such names as Andre 3000, Pharrell, Bob Marley, Beres Hammond, Missy Elliott, and Busta Rhymes. A longtime stage performer himself, he has opened for the likes of legends such as Lil' Wayne, Rick Ross, Common, Talib Kweli, Shaggy, Beenie Man, Serani and Collie Buddz. Among these Maverik fits like a glove, with a catchy hip-hop groove and an American swagger, made culturally richer and more complex by his Caribbean roots. His presence on the “She Likes It” music video showcases him as a charismatic and energetic music performer.

Maverik writes of his musical upbringing, “I grew up listening to great music always being blasted in my household. I developed a passion for it and began composing music, producing and DJing.”

With respect to his aims specific to the “She Likes It” single and video, he comments, “With this record I wanted to tap into my Caribbean, Jamaican roots to create a sound that would make women everywhere embrace their beauty. 'She Likes It' is a feel-good record that just makes you want to move. At the core of the record, it’s a guy trying to brighten a girl's day!”

Maverik has been educated at college and lives a high-energy lifestyle from which he pulls his largely autobiographical and positive lyrics. His uniformly good musical taste sets his tracks apart from the growing morass of clone-like independent hip-hop tunes. “She Likes It” is hailed on the World Star Hip Hop website as the first track from the upcoming “Talent and Creativity” mixtape.

“She Likes It” by Maverik is available online worldwide beginning 3 January 2014.

Pro Freshonal releases debut single 'Paid My Dues'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The singer and songwriter known as Pro Freshonal has released his debut single, titled, “Paid My Dues.” The single is a rock track with elements of modern blues music and a heavy emphasis on direct, heavy-hitting and plainly spoken lyrics. Focused mainly on low-down chord progressions played on guitar and recorded with clean-channel tones, “Paid My Dues” is an excellent representation of music written from the mind as well as from the heart, and stands as the world's official introduction to this exceedingly creative musician.

Pro Freshonal cites as main artistic influences the poet Charles Bukowski, the late comedian Bill Hicks, Marty Friedman and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, Cliff Burton of Metallica, Madonna, and Michael Jackson. Interestingly enough, it is the foremost two who feature most prominently in his work on “Paid My Dues,” as the writing in English is easily as important to the draw of Pro Freshonal's song as are his considerable musical chops.

His devotion to the blunt and the frank forms of communication is shared by both Bukowski and Hicks. Though they come from nearly opposite categories of art (poetry and comedy) their works have always stood as examples of how brute-force clarity of speech with no holds barred can easily surpass euphemistic language, not only in terms of precision, but also in artistic value.

Pro Freshonal has been playing guitar for more than twenty years, and has returned to the music field to make his play as a professional composer once and for all.

“I have quit music many times,” he writes, “but 'the universe?' wants me to keep on playing, so I’ve decided to start recording my compositions and it has been a battle to learn the production process.”

This debut single was recorded with the help of the industry's best minds.

Pro Freshonal writes of this, “I only hired people who are established in the music industry to help me produce my first song since I figured I’d learn much more and get more functional criticism about my abilities by dealing with the professionals.”

Music, lyrics, vocals, guitar and bass on “Paid My Dues” were written and played by Pro Freshonal, with percussion by Steven Wolf recorded at Monster Island Studios. Engineering was provided by Blake Eiseman at Binksound Studios, with mastering by Scott Hull at Masterdisk Studios.

“Paid My Dues” by Pro Freshonal is available online worldwide beginning 3 January 2014.

Fjazz releases new EP album 'My Days to Count'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The eclectic composer and performer of music known as Fjazz has released his latest EP record, titled, “My Days to Count.” The record is comprised of eight original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 9 minutes. Like Fjazz's other, previous quality releases, his “My Days to Count” EP has been released on the acclaimed Scotch and Murder music record label.

Fjazz's new extended-play record stands as the soundtrack to the celebrated short film, “My Days to Count,” from Studio2G in New York City. The film was directed by Stephanie De Latour, Antonio Padovan, and Saarah Zebede. It is Fjazz's most significant official release since his collaboration with Krycheck, “Live at Tammany Hall, Vol. 2.”

Fjazz's EP blends his various music backgrounds into an instrumental mix that includes piano and strings, as well as his own roots in the electronica music scene. The resulting effect is both ambient and crisp, often cold, and mostly heard in hues of gray and blue.

This is absolutely fitting for the themes and atmospheres of the short film, the public Kickstarter page for which declares it to be a story of an “encounter of two strangers in the aftermath of loss [which] uncovers an inexplicable connection.” The Kickstarter project for the “My Days to Count Film” ended on 25 October 2012 with smashing success. Of the requested $3,000 in necessary funds to complete the film, its Kickstarter campaign finished with $3,986 having been donated, an excess of nearly 33%.

Fjazz's soundtrack adds weight, complexity and class to an already sharp and tasteful short film. His music is at once reminiscent of classical music by Beethoven and of the background scores to movies from the days of old silent cinema.

Fjazz is most recognized for his work in electronica and EDM, though his considerable talents often bring him across genres, and his digital compositions usually feature many components of categories outside the traditional house music subgenre.

The “My Days to Count” soundtrack by Fjazz is available online worldwide beginning 3 January 2014.

Stephen Teckenoff releases new single 'Emily'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The singer and songwriter known as Stephen Teckenoff has released his new single, titled, “Emily.” The song has been independently released and represents Teckenoff's most significant official music publication to date. In addition to Teckenoff's considerable skills, the single also features beautiful vocals by Djess Horner. An uplifting song penned and performed with genuine humanist intent, “Emily” is a song for the modern day that examines the responsibility one may have to one's online acquaintances, and stands as a solid example of what might be done to help those in times of intense emotional need.

Teckenoff cites as main artistic influences such legendary songwriters as Ben Harper, John Mayer, Dave Matthews, David Grey, John Butler, Adele, Bonnie Raitt, and Eddie Vedder.

Teckenoff reflects many of the finest attributes of these. His single is moving to hear and tempered also with a slight edge that denotes his affinity for the music of Pearl Jam. Like Vedder, Teckenoff's sound is raw, natural and warm, so that his vocal timbre on “Emily” sounds sounds both precise and unforced.
The tone and flow of “Emily” strongly suggest that Teckenoff's talents for the writing and performing of music come innately to him.

Standing most prominently at the center of “Emily,” however, are the motives and themes of Teckenoff's song.

Teckenoff writes candidly of these, “This single was written about a girl who posted a few very dark messages on Facebook. I wasn’t sure what she was going to do, but fearing that she might take her own life I wrote the song about her in a way trying to say that somebody always cares, no matter how bad the situation seems.”

The situation didn't strike Teckenoff as anything to take lightly, having experienced times of tragedy firsthand.

“Having [once had] my cousin commit suicide I was fearing for the worst, so I wrote the song to try to let her know that people do care, even though sometimes it seems like they don’t even take notice.”

Teckenoff is originally from Cowaramup, Western Australia, but moved to Central California's San Luis Obispo area at age 12. Having returned to Australia where he resides in the musical hotbed of Perth, he entered the music studio for recording after receiving high acclaim for live performances at open mic nights.

“Music has always been a good hobby and a creative outlet,” Teckenoff writes. “For me it's a way to communicate an idea to impact people in a positive way.”

“Emily” by Stephen Teckenoff is available online worldwide beginning 3 January 2014.

Bossa Negra releases new LP 'Down Under'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The international collaboration of musicians known as Bossa Negra have released their latest single, titled, “Down Under.” The single is a work that blends the talents and sounds of many disparate cultures in celebration of Australia's Socceroos soccer team, who recently won their bid for qualification to the 2014 World Cup championship tournament. 2014's World Cup will be hosted by Brazil.

The single is a "samba reggae" and "axé" track showcasing the gentle joyousness and fun-loving nature of the Brazilian sound. In addition to its genuine South-American flavor, it also features some surprising elements both pleasing to the ear and intriguing to the mind of a music aficionado.

Bossa Negra writes, “This single aims to create an Australian/Brazilian fusion by taking a well-known Australian song rearranged with a Brazilian 'samba-reggae' arrangement from the state of Bahia to create a truly cross-cultural project to celebrate the 'Socceroos...'

The single track is a musical concept from producers Howard Lee and Latin-Grammy winner Sérgio Luiz Brandão, with the aim of making Brazilian music accessible outside of Brazil without compromising the integrity of the music. It features celebrated music legends from both Brazil and Australia.

“[Our song] aims to celebrate the commonalities of both countries,” writes Bossa Negra, “such as our love of the beach, music and sports.”

The single has also been released with a handful of bonuses, such as a karaoke track for singers and precision drum loops for practicing percussionists. Dancers with a penchant for the Bahian style of dance will also find the music exceptionally suitable.

Bossa Negra cite as main artistic influences such titans of the sound as Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury, Carlinhos Brown, Timbalada, Gilberto Gil, and Caetano Veloso.

Bossa Negra made their international debut at the Shanghai World Expo of 2010 with a series of performances at the Americas and Greenland stages. They are responsible for bringing Brazilian music to the mainstream Chinese audience for the first time by singing in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. They released the world's first bossa nova song to be sung in Chinese in the summer of 2011.

Wounded Ego releases new LP 'I Do'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The composer and performer of contemporary rock music known as Wounded Ego has released his latest collection of original songs, titled, “I Do.” The album is composed of 16 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of one hour. A record that blends classic rock roots with the catchiness of pop and the introspection of a singer-songwriter, “I Do” by Wounded Ego represents some of the most creative independent sound since the invention of the indie record label. At the time of this writing he’s ranked #6 on ReverbNation’s “Other” chart category, based on the popularity of his music on social media, Youtube, etc.

Wounded Ego cites as main artistic influences such legends as the Beatles, CSNY, Sting, Bach and Fanny Crosby. The general timbre of his record shows elements of each of these but sparkles most in its individuality. The tracks on “I Do” are widely varied, one of the record's chief charms. There are rock songs about Irish independence, sad songs of regret, bitter and angry songs, whimsical songs, jazzy songs, upbeat songs and downbeat songs. His instrumentation, also, includes an array of difference.

Speaking candidly of his beginnings in music, Wounded Ego writes, “At about 13 I wanted to be a rock star but I never seemed able to learn a complete song. I was somewhat ADHD. But at about 16 I joined a church band and the simple verse chorus thing really got drummed into me. After that I got the bridge and started socking out heartfelt songs that everyone could relate to. Soon I was able to add more complex and diverse styles but always stayed true to that solid foundation of strong melodies over a compelling beat.”

Much of the lyrical poetry in “I Do” is personal in nature, though this is not the crux of the record.

“The songs on the album are very different from one another stylistically,” writes Wounded Ego, “but each has a tight marriage between melody and lyric and resonates a distinct emotion. Some songs might pass for 'pop' but mostly they are the stuff of 'classic rock' — timeless.”

Wounded Ego is the professional stage name of Bill Ross, of Delray Beach, Florida. His current projects include collaborating on a musical drama set in the period of the American Reconstruction, a country duet of the title track, “I Do,” which features Grammy-nominated Lydia Salnikova and the celebrated independent artist, B. Sterling. This duet is well positioned to be a classic for country weddings for years to come. He appears on the “I Do” LP with his wife of 27 years, Connie, who sings with him on “Connie Connie Connie.”

Super Super release debut EP 'Live in the City'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The power pop crew from Rockford, IL known as Super Super have released their debut EP album, titled, “Live in the City.” The record is comprised of four original rock tracks for an approximate total listening time of 12 minutes. It has been released on the Respectable Records music label.

Super Super cite as main artistic influences such popular bands as Cheap Trick, Big Star, Jimmy Eat World, Weezer, Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, and Superdrag, all of whom build their walls of sound with a catchy combination of vocal harmonies and melodic guitars. Like these bands, Super Super have a stalwart faith in great guitar tones and solid, natural songwriting, and it's a faith that steadily pays off.

The Super-Super style is upbeat, friendly, and unstoppably groovy, built on seemingly simple rhythms that build to bursting in every track. A kind of patient aggression flows in strong undercurrents through their music, full of verve and vivacity that envelops the listener with the ambiance of a relentlessly good time. This undeniably fun sonic experience is at least partially due to the palpable chemistry of the band members.

Vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Mark Gustafson, drummer David Doyle, Jr., and bassist Ian Zander (son of Cheap Trick vocalist Robin) have been playing together for more than ten years. They spent much of this time playing in the popular Midwest band, the Avatars.

Regarding the Avatars, Jim DeRogatis writes for the Chicago Sun-Times in 2008, “It seems as if the power-pop torch will never be extinguished in these parts, and that's a good thing, at least when bands like the Avatars can make that familiar Big Star/Cheap Trick/Material Issue/Matthew Sweet formula of huge guitars, massive choruses and thundering drums sound [this] fresh and vital...”

“Live in the City” represents a particularly satisfying triumph for Super Super, too, as it features the lighting guitar work of Cheap Trick's own Rick Neilsen, thundering out one of his titanic signature solos for their record's title track. Additionally, the EP was mastered by Steve Rooke at London's legendary Abbey Road Studios. A special version mastered especially for iTunes was also produced (link provided below).

Anaya release debut EP 'Rewoven Patterns'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The progressive metal quartet from the United States known as Anaya have released their debut EP record album, titled, “Rewoven Patterns.” The record is comprised of four original tracks for an approximate total listening time of twenty minutes. It has been proudly published as an independent release on the Anaya Productions music records label. A dark, high-octane and extremely flammable quatrain of songs, “Rewoven Patterns” represents an exceptionally worthy addition to the American catalog of progressive metal, and to heavy metal music in general.

“Rewoven Patterns” is the first official Anaya record to feature every member of the band: vocalist Abel Alvarado, bassist Andrew Hooley, drummer Clay Straughan, and guitarist Cody Montague. They cite as main artistic influences legends and founding music titans of prog metal such as Meshuggah and Cynic. Likewise, their musical character retains much of the sound, tone and style of the experimental metal pioneers who laid the groundwork before them, such as Pantera and Neurosis.

Taking certain cues from “doom” metal and other latter-day subgenres, the Anaya sound is more melodic at times than that of many prog-metal bands that have come before. Anaya use this to great advantage. The tireless riffing of their guitars is not unlike the sonorous rising and falling of fiery violin solos. These soar atop a boiling, roiling pit of undulating, walking bass lines and drums that thunder Zeus-like throughout their album. Their vocals have range, punch, and scope, and Anaya includes a variety of singing styles in their music to keep listeners guessing. As shadowy as their “Rewoven Patterns” is – and its sonic soul is truly black – it is also more colorfully creative than much of what the progressive metal genre produces.

Hailing from the Denver, CO area, Anaya have been headlining metal concerts and gracing the waves of local metal radio programs in preparation for the landmark release of “Rewoven Patterns.” With an ever-growing and ravenous fan base, their EP is hitting online stores with plenty of anticipation. Their official BandCamp page promises that, “A full-length LP is currently in the works and is expected to be released early 2014.”

Jah Ghatti to release new EP early 2014

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The reggae music artist known as Jah Ghatti is slated to release his new extended-play record album in February of 2014. The news comes from sources close to Jah Ghatti's own record label, D.O.V. Production (usually stylized D.O.V Production). It is currently unknown how many tracks will be featured on the new Ghatti EP, but it will be the most significant release from him since his official YouTube video, “State of Mind,” hit the Internet in December of 2013. His “State of Mind” song is expected to be showcased as a single from the upcoming EP, perhaps as a title track.

A longtime music fan and performer of contemporary reggae, Jah Ghatti has been crafting songs in music studios for many years, and performs often onstage in Europe and abroad. One of his most talked about appearances in recent days was at the Afrika Karibik Festival in Aschaffenburg, Germany, on August 16 of 2013, from which myriad videos have been made available for viewing online.

Jah Ghatti was born Delmar Valentine in the Grantspen area of Kingston, Jamaica. Grantspen has long been considered one of the most dangerous places in the Caribbean in which to make one's home. Having resided now for some time in Frankfurt, Germany, Jah Ghatti often takes time in his music to speak about growing up in the ghetto, about how to rise above one's own circumstances, and that, as his song relates, “Ghetto is a state of mind.” He is renowned for writing positive and enriching lyrics to uplift the individual in today's tumultuous society.

Jah Ghatti's new EP is expected to be published online around the world circa February, 2014.

Maddy Engh releases new album 'A Babe of Her Own'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The chanteuse of country and bluegrass known as Maddy Engh has released her latest record, titled, “A Babe of Her Own.” Being comprised of seven original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 25 minutes, the album lies somewhere between a long extended-play and a shorter LP record. “A Babe of Her Own” by Maddy Engh has been released on the SMT Records music label, which has been gaining in both scope and recognition since its rise to prominence in the independent country music scene. In addition to Engh, SMT also sports the work of such renowned and well-respected country and bluegrass artists as Karen B Martin and “Bad Boy” Troy Tipton.

Madeleine “Maddy” Engh makes her music on her small farm near Mission, British Columbia. She cites as main artistic influences such singer-songwriters as Hank Snow, Johnny and June Carter Cash, Loretta Lynn, and Wilf Carter. Intuitively, her own style is a genuine, contemporary example of true American folk music, usually categorized in the bluegrass or country genres. Her trilling, natural voice is delicately feminine and pretty, yet strong and sonorous as well. Engh characterizes her guitar-and-vocals sound as that of a “front porch plunker,” which humble stage was, of course, the actual birthplace of bluegrass, country and folk music to begin with.

Asked to describe the themes discussed in her new album, Engh writes simply, “The simple things in life are still the most important things.”

The title track of her record, “A Babe of Her Own,” was written by Engh while watching her young granddaughter picking daisies in the field, just as her daughter had done at the same age. It is merely one of over 300 songs composed by Engh, who is now 77, yet the album represents her official debut as a published musician on a record label. The album, originally recorded as a demo to showcase her songs to artists in need of material, garnered much attention as naturally performed by Engh, herself. It was appropriately released as an album – or “babe” – of her own.

“This is not for recognition,” writes Engh, “nor is it for fame and fortune – this is the realization of my dream to someday have my music recorded. I went into a studio, had some fun, and came out with an album.”

Funeral Strippers release new LP 'There’s a Time and a Place for Dancing'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The music artists from Melbourne, Australia known as Funeral Strippers have released their broadly anticipated debut LP record album, “There's a Time and a Place for Dancing.” The record is comprised of 15 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of a full hour, making for a satisfying and comprehensive introduction to this wildly creative and dark dance-music crew. Funeral Strippers are signed to the Funstrip Records music label.

The sound of Funeral Strippers is based on traditional house music principles rounded out with analog and live instrumentation, as well as some extremely talented and tasteful vocal performances. Their seemingly innate knack for undeniably catchy and intriguing songwriting is among their chief qualities, and the album plays front-to-back in a cohesive and consistent chain of top-notch singles. More succinctly: every song on “There's a Time and a Place for Dancing” is clearly worthy of Top-40 radio play.

Asked to cite some main artistic influences, Funeral Strippers decline to comment, but speak candidly of the themes explored on their debut LP.

“The things we fear the most,” they write, “have already happened to us. The world is full of surprises. Never lose your power to dream.”

Attributes of the early industrial music culture make up much of the Funeral Strippers' character and delivery. They are renowned for their arresting live performance and striking stage presence. Faces painted ghost white, eyes rimmed with black and with lips made to appear sewn closed, they would make a fearsome sight were it not for their exuberant, fun-loving attitudes and indomitable, wide smiles. Their music, likewise, is tinged with undertones of the macabre, but sounds optimistic and uplifting overall, with vibrant back beats and playfully aggressive melodies.

Their self-titled single, “The Funeral Strippers” forms the second track of their new record and has been released with an energetic and endlessly fun official music video (link provided below).

Faulconer releases new single 'History'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The singer and songwriter of pop rock music known as Faulconer has released her latest single, titled, “History.” The track is the most significant official release from Faulconer since her acclaimed and award-winning tracks, “Phoenix,” “Slow Down,” and “Take Me Away,” which songs featured Chet McCracken (Doobie Brothers), Raymond Herrera (Fear Factory), and DJs Lorenzo Lellini and Handsome Rob, respectively. In addition to the myriad and remarkable performance skills of Faulconer, herself, “History” features the talents of Marilyn Manson drummer, Jason Sutter. The song has been released on the Chicago-based Poze Records music label.

The sound of “History” is rooted in heavy alternative rock, embellished by strong bass lines and crowning melodic guitar riffs. Led by female vocalist Kristen Faulconer, herself, the resulting tone is aggressive and heavy-hitting, well-suited to Faulconer's decrying lyrical themes. These themes revolve around personal struggle, courageousness, and rebirth.

“My music is about empowering and uplifting people,” writes Faulconer. “I am an abuse survivor, and I wrote many of my songs about the abuse I endured, also my struggles with being adopted while trying to maintain a mainstream appeal.”

The heartfelt meanings of her songs may often be surmised by the song titles. The pertinence of names like “Phoenix” and “History” is clear when taken in the context of her inspirations.

Faulconer writes, “Now that I am rehabilitated, my mission is to use my music to inspire and help people in the same situation, and all people through their struggles in life. My focus is to write music that has a message. I am a survivor and throughout the toughest times in my life all I had was my music, it spoke to me. Now I am creating music to do the same, it is an outlet for expression.”

Faulconer cites among her main artistic influences Marilyn Manson, the Doobie Brothers, Metallica, and Def Leppard, as well as Jason Sutter and Chet McCracken, with whom she has worked.

“I write [my music] with passion, from experience and from my heart,” Faulconer says. “My hope is to reach out to my listeners and inspire them to make healthy decisions in their life and to choose to be in healthy relationships. My music is an emotional release of how I feel and I can be brutally honest. Too often we are unable to speak our truth and so I try to create an outlet that we can all relate to. My hope is to unite my listeners by creating something that is universal.”

Dreeman releases new EP 'One'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The composer of digital music known as Dreeman has released his debut extended-play record album, titled, “One.” The record is composed of 10 original Dreeman tracks, plus one by featured artist and friend, Jr. Chavez. The instrumental album has an approximate total listening time of half an hour. A stripped-down digital record from the old-school traditions of American house music, “One” by Dreeman represents independent music from an independent mind, a collection of unique songs that take cues from the artist's creative spirit alone.

Dreeman cites as main artistic influences such widely varied artists as Led Zeppelin, Gorillaz, Kid Cudi, Lighthouses, and Mindless Self Indulgence. While this brief list shows Dreeman's broad musical interests, it does not shed much light on the inspirations for his debut LP, “One.” This is because his record resists likenesses. It is uniquely his own. It stands for him as purely and directly as the word 'blue' does for the color of the ocean.

The rhythms on “One” are dependable and none too busy. Instrumentation is overtly digital without being brutally so, as can be the case with some EDM records. Dreeman's “One” is not your typical electronic dance music. It is electronically composed music with ambient textures and steady back beats. Its tones are warm, positive and uplifting, its melodies alive with flow and mellow groove.

These emotions come from Dreeman, himself, who communicates them through his music as surely as a telegrapher.

“I am Dreeman,” he writes. “My life has consisted of a lot of crazy events, and who I am is the person formulated by such things as good friends, a messed up family, poor education, no money, drugs, and a lot of music.”

Luckily for music fans everywhere, the music seems to have been the anchoring factor.

He continues, “As a child I was a pretty average kid, but my passion for music has always been very strong, probably because music was something my father knew a lot about. My parents divorced when I was five or six, and I grew up switching between their homes until I was 12 or 13 when my mom passed away.”

The forthcoming hardships and ensuing life among musicians would determine his future as a music artist, himself.

“I lived with my father and his wife through the rest of school, and those were some rough times. Music was one of my only friends, the only friend I couldn’t be grounded from. Once I finished school I moved out into a crappy party house with some friends who were in a band – which was an awesome experience because we would have full-scale concerts in our house. It made me want to be a part of music even more. After three years of hanging out with the same crowd and never progressing, I finally got resettled and made some music. I really hope you all enjoy it.”

“One” by Dreeman is available online worldwide. There's no reason for anyone not to enjoy it.

Diane and Mildred with the GMA Band release new singles “Someday Eternity Will Begin” and “But for the Manger”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The duo of bluegrass gospel music known as Diane and Mildred have released their latest music, a pair of singles titled “Someday Eternity Will Begin” and “But for the Manger,” both recorded with the GMA Band. Each of the songs is a contemporary instant classic, much like music previously released by Diane and Mildred with the GMA (Gospel Music Arts) Band. Fans of bluegrass and gospel – and especially fans of both – are certain to find a rare treasure in this traditional American music lovingly created for the glorification of the Christian God.

Diane and Mildred cite as main artistic influences such legends as Dottie Rambo, Dolly Parton, the Cox Family, Mavis Staples, Margie Sullivan, Dr. Ralph Stanley and others. They note as an aside, too, that “There are so many, we don’t have space to name them all.”

Diane and Mildred's now-famous bluegrass duet sounds have graced both radio and television as well as countless stages. Their earnest devotion to the Gospel is evident in the heartfelt timbre of their singing, which strikes the listener's ears with an untrammeled beauty and warm, friendly tone.

With the help of the GMA Band, Diane and Mildred have made it their personal mission to “actively transform communities by changing attitudes about the surprising transformational gifts of gospel music,” as is stated in their official bio.

Mildred Statzer, a multi-instrumentalist and natural-born performer, has the uncanny ability to sing harmonies at will behind any melody line sung to her. She is a veteran musician of gospel music, having performed on the road and at home for many years with the popular band, Gospel Melodies. She is an outspoken born-again believer of the Christian faith.

Diane McKoy, also a devout believer, was the co-founder of the only known bluegrass gospel band from New York City, which she started with Russell Scholl.

“She is thought of as the 'Queen of NYC Bluegrass Gospel,'” Guitarist Alan Shelton and Dr. Ralph Stanley say of McKoy. “She has carried this gospel music torch there for decades.”

“Someday Eternity Will Begin” and “But for the Manger” by Diane and Mildred are available online worldwide.

Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters release new LP 'Sweet Sue'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters have released their latest LP record, titled, “Sweet Sue.” The record is comprised of 15 tracks for an approximate total listening time of one hour. A return to the popular, early jazz era of the '10s, Roaring '20s and 1930s, “Sweet Sue” is great music performed the way it hasn't been done in a hundred years, and it's creating exclamation points among critics and music fans alike everywhere it goes.

Australia's Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters (who take their name from a plastic created in 1907 used largely in radios) are not another latter-day swing-revival big band. This sound is earlier than Glenn Miller's. This is music F. Scott Fitzgerald's Jay Gatsby might have listened to, and it is entirely legitimate. Poppleton and his Bakelite Broadcasters are a genuine crew of “old souls,” if any performer could ever be called such.

Poppleton himself cites as main artistic influences a top-shelf roster: Louis Armstrong, Al Bowlly, Rudy Vallee, Annette Hanshaw, Bing Crosby, Rudi Schuericke, Alberto Rabiagliati, Skinnay Ennis, Beniamino Gigli, Tito Schipa, Cab Calloway, Don Redman, Fletcher Henderson, and Jim Davidson and his ABC Dance Orchestra.

To those who don't know, the above list should at least prove that Poppleton isn't coming from the usual crowd of fanboys familiar with names like Krupa, James, Dorsey, and Goodman, all of whom are exceptionally popular titans of jazz by any account. But to those who do know, it's positively clear that Poppleton is a man of exceptionally good taste who really knows his records.

When asked what possible message their new album may have in store for listeners, Poppleton states proudly, “'Sweet Sue' is a shared acknowledgement between listeners and Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters as to how we choose to fit in the contemporary music scene: 'Vive la différence!'”

Ironically, the Broadcasters aren't finding such differences to be anything but a boon. Their 2012 LP, “Doin' the Charleston,” has become one of a very elite clutch of independent jazz records to be played on modern commercial radio. It has been listed as CD of the Week and Jazz CD of the Week on flagship metropolitan radio stations. They were Jazz Finalists at the 2013 MusicOz Awards.

Also very much of note is the live essence of their “Sweet Sue” recording. Every take is entirely recorded live as a band, all at once as it was done in the 1920s and for decades afterward. The studio was cramped, forcing Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters to play barefooted, as their tapping feet were being picked up by microphones. Alternative takes have been included on the record as an added treat for their fans, many of whom may not have ever heard how the performance of a jazz number will shift from show to show.

“[The alternative takes] show that Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters never play the same song the same way twice,” writes a Poppleton representative. “It’s real improvised jazz and swing – keeping this collection of classics from the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s energetic, exciting and fresh. We sincerely trust you’ll enjoy, ‘Sweet Sue.’”

“Sweet Sue” by Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters is available online worldwide. Get in early.

A heavy-hitting and high-energy pop record with excellent composition, ingenious songwriting and spectacular performances by everyone involved, “Revolution” is poised to prove that Donata is ready to take center stage in every part of the world.

Donata cites as main artistic influences such legendary pop stars as Madonna, Muse, Daft Punk, and Infected Mushroom. Her music, intuitively, is vivifying and classy, radical and unpredictable. The sound is rooted in alternative rock with digitized effects. Her vocal style is direct, beautiful, and with all of the feminine aggression that made Madonna the performer to watch in the '80s and '90s.

Speaking of the themes of her new album, Donata writes that her album speaks in uplifting, supportive, courageous and compassionate words to her listeners: “Never lose hope. You can change your life. Be strong and help people.”

Donata, who was born in 1986 in Hungary to a middle-class Lithuanian family, got her first taste of real fame when she entered a nationally televised talent show for unknown Lithuanian artists. She made the finals. In 2008, she released her debut pop record, which was written and recorded in the Lithuanian language. Mike Williams releases new LP 'Snow Breath'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The English composer known as Mike Williams has released his newest LP record album, titled, “Snow Breath.” The record is comprised of 14 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 40 minutes. The album has been published on the MHW Records, Ltd. music label. It represents the first official release by Williams in over 30 years.

Asked to cite some of his main artistic influences, Williams names entire genres of music composition, including Avant-Garde, Free Jazz, and New Tonality. Of these schools of experimental music, none sound more prevalent than the others in “Snow Breath,” although the New Tonality style resounds like a sonic blanket over its entirety.

New Tonality, which is also referred to as New Simplicity or New Romanticism, is sometimes noted for unpredictable changes across a broad spectrum of emotional color. As an effort to musically paint the composer's artistic impulses, it allows for highly imaginative possibilities while bearing in mind certain classical principles.

Coming also from his roguish Avant-Garde and Free Jazz sensibilities, Williams' “Snow Breath” is alive with imagery and emotion in ways few music fans are likely to have enjoyed.

Williams writes of these themes, “The cover picture shows a forest path covered in snow, suggesting a difficult journey through the winter of life, but also suggesting the opportunity of the silence that comes with a 'Snow Breath' that puts life on hold, giving the opportunity to stop, think and reflect.”

His “Snow Breath” album was inspired by a rare snow that fell on the Isle of Wight in 2012, where Williams has lived for many years in retirement from music. The inclement weather gave him pause, and in that pause he heard music coming to him.

Williams is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied composition and viola. His interest in electronic and experimental music began there. Today, having plucked up his viola once more and learned to use his laptop computer as a professional recording studio, Williams is making his return known with this exceptional new LP.

“Snow Breath” by Mike Williams is available online worldwide beginning 3 January 2014.

27After releases new single 'Janie'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The Denver, CO rock crew known as 27After have released their latest single, titled, “Janie.” The single is the most significant official 27After release since their self-titled EP was published in fall of 2012. The EP generated an emphatic ripple of interest throughout alternative rock's underground scene in the United States, as well as on many of the World Wide Web's music forums. Now celebrating the end of their third year together, 27After have released “Janie” both as a promise of good things to come in the new year and as a further introduction to fans not yet familiar with the signature 27After sound.

27After cite as main artistic influences The Foo Fighters, Johnny Cash, and Pantera. Lead singer and songwriter Cash Crandall also cites King David, and his former auto body teacher and musician, Mr. Wintercock. These inspirations appear in music by 27After in subtle nuances and various undertones, though in the end the result is music that sounds like 27After, and no one else. The trio are characterized by a streamlined, no-frills sound that showcases them as remarkably talented songwriters who record their music as if it were always being recorded live.

Singer Crandall's vocals are a return to the days of genuine vocal talent in rock, and his guitar is neither too flashy nor too plain, a rare mark of good musical taste. Bassist “E” and drummer Zugs have been performing together since high school, their tightly braided rhythm forming a solid wall of sound behind Crandall that acts as a dependable canvas on which they embellish in turns as they go, E with bass walks here and there, Zugs with fills and contouring strikes. The result is a dark, rich rock tone with a warm feel that works in a broad variety of listening circumstances.

Orquesta SCC releases new salsa LP 'Renacimiento'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The musical crew from New York City known as Orquesta SCC have released their new salsa LP record album, titled, “Renacimiento.” It is comprised of 11 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 50 minutes. It has been released on the Salsa Dura record label. A return to the golden age of Latin sound with the addition of social awareness and artistic humanism, Orquesta SCC's “Renacimiento” has been received with widespread critical and fan acclaim.

The word “Renacimiento” means both 'rebirth' and 'Renaissance,' both of which are fitting descriptors for the musical art that is Orquesta SCC. Orquesta SCC, whose acronym stands for Salsa Con Conciencia (salsa music with conscience) have made it their mission to make music that benefits society in more ways than sound alone can achieve.

Having been asked to describe the themes of “Renacimiento,” Orquesta SCC writes, “[Our theme is] the rebirth of hardcore salsa music with a socially uplifting message, and party music to dance to, too.”

They cite as main artistic influences such legends of the ritmo Latino as the Fania All-Stars, Eddie Palmieri, Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Ray Barretto, Tite Curet, and Ruben Blades.

Orquesta (orchestra) SCC are made up of 11 pieces, making them a modern big band by contemporary standards. They are well known and respected for shunning the traditional suit-and-tie uniform of former-day salsa players, as well as for breaking from many unnecessary traditions in order to recreate the genuine Latin style and sound in a manner that befits the modern era of music. A key component to this new, cutting-edge mode is their attention to lyrical themes, which often deal with the issues and complexities of modern society.

The most immediately striking characteristic of Orquesta SCC's “Renacimiento,” however, is the high-energy, old-school sound that the band has brought to the record.

“They are going back to the more eclectic period when salsa was street music, playing with spirit and integrity,” says Grammy-Award Winning music producer, Aaron Levinson.

Musician, journalist and radio personality Franky Gee writes, “[Orquesta SCC] entices the dancer and the non-dancer alike, emanating a hypnotic rhythm that evokes the crowd to participate in the festivities.”

The Lonesome Snakes release new LP 'Three Minutes and A Cloud of Dust'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The Alabama rockers known as the Lonesome Snakes have released their new LP record, titled, “Three Minutes and a Cloud of Dust.” The album is comprised of 17 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of one hour, making for a definitive introduction to this highly respected band for listeners not yet acquainted. It has been released on the Praco Publishing music records label. A record with deep, deep roots in the classic traditions of rock 'n' roll and southern folk music, “Three Minutes and a Cloud of Dust” showcases the genuine American sound with clear authority, flawless taste, and bottomless heart and soul.

Upon being asked, “How did you start getting involved in music?” Lonesome Snakes songwriter Craig Izard writes back simply, “Born with that beat in my bones.”

This is a fine analogy for the general tone of Lonesome Snakes music. Their sound is raw, direct, streamlined and no-nonsense. It is characterized by the same mid-western earnestness that flowed through the first rockers to ever play the sound. The Snakes cite as main artistic influences such artists as Elvis Presley, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Howling Wolf, Bob Dylan, and Robert Johnson. An amalgam of these musicians pared down to a straightforward, southern rock trio would sound very much like the Lonesome Snakes, who hail from Birmingham.

Songwriting forms much of the strength of “Three Minutes and a Cloud of Dust.” Their songs bear titles such as, “I'll Wait Till later to Kill You” and “Southern Bottlerockets,” and wind out arresting narratives that carry the old art of folk storytelling into the modern age. Their songs are often optimistic in sound at their most melancholy in meaning, and the theme of pain and pleasure as natural components in life recurs often. Fellow snakes Hunter Bolton and John McNutt take active roles in the composition of Lonesome's music, also.

Izard's former band, "Jim Bob & the Leisure Suits," were recognized for their pioneering performances and recordings in the 2010 Southern Music Issue of the Oxford American, which celebrated the oft-overlooked musical hotbed of Alabama.

Chris Deming releases new single 'Oh Your Love'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The singer and songwriter known as Chris Deming has released his latest single, titled, “Oh Your Love.” The single is the most significant official release from Deming since his debut EP record, “The Freedom EP,” published in November of 2013. Like “Freedom,” Deming's “Oh Your Love” is a modern pop gospel song directed to his celestial listener, the Christian God. Deming's sound is warm, natural, personal, and absolutely excellent listening for fans of singer-songwriters, religious or no.

Deming cites as main artistic influences such artists as the United Pursuit Band, Jesus Culture, Josh Garrels, David Crowder, and Bellarive. As may be expected, his music is populated here and there with certain attributes inspired by the music of each of them.

Deming writes of the themes in his music, “The message of my first album, 'The Freedom – E.P.,' is a creative ensemble of fresh organic music declaring the love, relationship, and freedom we have as believers [in Jesus Christ]. 'Song of Freedom' is a cry of gratefulness and thanks for the freedom we have because of His unfailing love, while 'Your Grace' shows more beachy roots in a song that recognizes that by the Fathers grace and love, we are always accepted and called to draw closer to God.”

Intuitively, his new single falls not far from this heartfelt and emphatically alive tree.

“My newest single,” he writes, “is an extension of that message in a song that recognizes that the love of God, if we receive it, truly changes us.”

Chris Deming's early start in music came from a highly uncommon source: his local public services.

“I took a guitar lesson at my local parks and rec and then began playing in church and the youth group band.”

Deming's music is genuine in ways that are palpable in his sound, ways that can neither be mimicked nor taught.

“Something stirs inside of me as I begin to think about what music really means to me,” he writes. “To live a true life of worship is my goal, and expressing it through music is my passion. I have loved playing ever since [learning to play]. I’ve led worship and played music in several youth ministries and churches. I’ve been a missionary in Central America. I attended music and ministry school in Texas (Convergence School of Supernatural Ministry). I was later asked to come on staff at the school to teach and coordinate bands, and coordinate all the social work and outreach programs that the school was involved with.”

Deming has been writing songs since the age of 15. Since the release of his debut EP, he has taken crews of musicians to Brazilian slums, Costa Rican safehouses, Thai human trafficking centers, landfills, orphanages, and even to the homelands of indigenous tribes.

He writes of his evangelical and musical journey, “I have traveled, adventured and explored, and all of this has strengthened in me my love for music, God, and the beautiful people and creation around us. My desire is to help people know truth, to know true love, to know a God who lives and moves and cares about us. I want people to experience life to its fullest and nothing less. I want to be changed, to make a change, and make every step on this earth worthy of the short time we have been given.”
