Pop singer Lena Williams releases new single 'Keep My Name Out Ya Mouth'

The pop singer known as Lena Williams has released her latest official single track, “Keep My Name Out Ya Mouth.” The single has been proudly published as an independent music release without the involvement or interference of the corporate music infrastructure. Catchy, direct, powerful, elegant and feminine, “Keep My Name Out Ya Mouth” is a track that introduces Lena Williams to her audience as all of these things and much, much more.

Music by Lena Williams has subtlety and charm which exudes strength and determination. Her tones are sultry and mellow without ever coming off as quiet or demure. The topics of her songs, songs such as “What U Mad For,” “On Another Planet” and “Touch My Body,” are sensual, autobiographical, and never delivered with a pulled punch. Fans of Williams love her for her earnest lyrics and classy manner of singing, as well as for some of the most well-produced back beats in hip hop anywhere.

South-Carolina born Lena Williams has been singing since she was able to talk. Her first formal music experiences came from practicing and performing with church choirs as soon as she was able. By the age of 10, she was writing her own music. Her first group was founded by Williams, herself. She called the group the Dope Girls. At merely 12 years old she was booked as the opening act for Tracy Morgan at McGuire AFB.

Willams began working with a local producer at the age of 20 but never did anything with these recordings beyond saving them for posterity. Her official ReverbNation bio states that “[Lena] believed God blessed with her with a talent and that she would one day make it … She met her boyfriend, now husband, Robert Williams when she was just 21 years old. She was so caught up in love with him that she no longer focused on music. They decided they wanted to move away from New Jersey and relocate to Maryland.”

In Maryland Williams describes life there as “perfect.” She had love and a solid, well-paying job, nice cars and a nice home. Nevertheless, her bio states that “Even though they had all of these things Lena was still very unhappy. She knew that music was her passion and she knew that their was more to her life then just working full time for a boss that she disliked. She performed at a few local bars but that was about it.”

A job opportunity arising from a promotion in 2013 allowed her to relocate to Atlanta, GA, however.

“She was ecstatic about moving to the area,” her bio explains, “because Georgia has had lots of successful artists and she felt she could be the next big thing. A year after relocating the company she worked for closed down and she was laid off. Instead of her stressing or being upset she looked at this sudden change as a positive opportunity. She believed that this was a sign from God to go after what she had always dreamed about. Lena is currently networking and working on music so you can expect lots of things from her very soon.”

Lena Williams fans, that time is now.

“Keep My Name Out Ya Mouth” by Lena Williams is available online worldwide beginning 4 January 2015. Don't miss it.

Rapper Jagger Spacy releases official music video for hit single 'Where'd You Go?'

The up-and-coming rapper and songwriter known as Jagger Spacy is releasing his biggest and most widely awaited official music video to date, “Where'd You Go?” The video is based on his runaway hit hip-hop / pop music single by the same name, which made headlines less than one month ago in the last quarter of 2014. Sonorous, heartfelt and extremely catchy, Spacy fans and new listeners alike felt that “Where'd You Go?” was sure to come packaged with an official music video – and Spacy wasn't about to leave the music world hanging.

Hailing from the hip-hop hotbed of Arizona, which derives its characteristic sonic style from not only the ever-popular West Coast rap but also typically the “dirty” south sound and that of the founding capital of hip hop, New York City, Jagger Spacy's voice and persona immediately recall those of Eminem. Spacy's “Where'd You Go?” is both more personal and more accessible than much of the music of Marshall Mathers, however, and has been attracting listeners from nearly every music genre.

It should perhaps come as no surprise, therefore, that an accompanying music video for the young star's most successful single should appear, and particularly since the artist's main aim is to connect with his ever-growing audience.

“I hope that people will relate to my music and that they will be inspired,” said Jagger Spacy in a recent interview. “I hope it will show people that even though we deal with life challenges and struggles, we can get through it. Failure is key. I am just rebuilding what was broken.”

Listeners wishing to get a better introduction to the rapper and singer are encouraged to meet him through his online bio, available for viewing here: http://youtu.be/rCGoMrXoB9A. Watch for the official video for “Where'd You Go?” by Jagger Spacy to become available for viewing online everywhere soon.

The popular single that started it all, “Where'd You Go?” by Jagger Spacy, is already available online worldwide. Fans of rap, pop, and hip-hop music should get in early.

Judah Metaphysic XVI releases new LP 'Tell Me Why'

The singer and songwriter of reggae music known as Judah Metaphysic XVI has released his latest LP record album, “Tell Me Why.” It contains 12 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 45 minutes. The record has been proudly published on the Mind Music Production independent record label, entirely without financial or managerial support from the corporate music industry. Brimming with heart and soul, and pulsing with warmth, spirit and righteousness, “Tell Me Why” is a reggae record coming from the true roots of the traditional sound.

Judah Metaphysic XVI cites as main artistic influences such legends of the roots scene as Bagga Judah, Jackie Mittoo, Pablo Black, Bob Marley, Garnett Silk, and many more. He also considers musicians from other genres as important to his sonic creativity, musicians like John Lennon and the Beatles, Nat King Cole, Celine Dion and Julie Andrews. The upshot of all this music is that Judah Metaphysic XVI has a well-rounded, top-shelf style of reggae with a highly polished production and a raw, natural tone.

Speaking of the aims of his new record, Judah Metaphysic writes, “After many sessions of making feel-good music, we have created an album that we are proud to present to our listening audience and our ever-loyal fans. 'Tell Me Why' will capture your imagination and ears with rapture and rhapsody that will lift your spirit and warm your heart.”

Judah Metaphysic XVI was born in Kingston, Jamaica as the youngest of five children. His father having been killed as a result of political unrest, Judah was raised by his mother from a very young age.

“I was saddened and I felt helpless,” he writes of this. “But despite all the challenges that I faced, I always had a love for music.”

He found a broken guitar and glued it together. It had four strings. He took it to 12 Tribe Headquarters (of the Rastafari movement) where it was tuned by Bagga Judah himself.

“I started to rehearse with Sangi Davis and Nipty Napty,” writes the singer. “I began to hone my singing skills with the 12-Tribe band. Rehearsal was moved to Bob Marley's home. After several rehearsals Bob Marley identified me as being ready for the 12 Tribe Show.

Judah came to California on tour with the band in 1982.

“I decided to settle down in the United States and to start a family. In 1984 I started to perform with the Jubenites group of the 12 Tribes. Many reggae shows took place with this group. I performed with several musicians namely: Sister Carol, Ninja Man, Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor, and many other local artists. I also performed alongside the Steel Pulse band and Visionaire.”

Judah's life has been based and founded on music, particularly in the form of roots reggae.

“I always hear a song in just about everything I do. Without music I could not survive. I can distinctly remember all the song that healed me when I was in a moment of mental anguish.”

The following is taken directly from Judah Metaphysic XVI, himself.

“Music is the very essence that builds me up. I can hear the sound of music vibrating in my head. I often vibrate these rhythms in my music like that of a mocking bird making musical beats. Writing and singing music is like indulging in a cooking exercise. I used this metaphor of someone cooking a special dish because one has to put in special ingredient to bring out a special flavor.

“Music is a life force. The very tone of the music is life. The message of my music is for my fans to embrace the love of all human beings. They should cast away all fear, keeping in mind the adage: why gain the world and lose your soul? Realize that there will always be a brighter day. My hope is that peace and forgiveness will preside. Stop pointing your fingers to lay the blame on others and look into yourself and behold the inner beauty of your courage and forthrightness. One Love and Jah Bless.”

Sund'ri Feeling release new LP "Accords"

The duo of poetic jazz and groove music known as Sund'ri Feeling have released their latest LP record, “Accords.” It contains 14 original tracks for a total listening time approaching a full hour. The album has been proudly published on the Artiste de Ma Vie independent record label, entirely without financial or managerial support from the corporate music industry. Suave, classy, and full of the spirit of cool jazz, “Accords” by Sund'ri Feeling is an uplifting and exotic jazz record that will appeal to audiophiles everywhere.

Sund'ri Feeling cite as main artistic influences Ella Fitzgerald, Rachel Ferrell, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Billie Holiday, Marilyn Monroe, and more, from whom their own elegant singing style has taken its powerful yet delicate shape. Hence, a great many qualities are shared between these leading ladies and the vocals of “Accords.”

In terms of composition and instrumentation, they name a broadly various group which includes (among a great many others) Chopin and Rachmaninov, Miles Davis and Jaco Pastorius, Chucho Valdés and Chick Corea. Their music is a flowing, colorful blend of cool jazz, Cuban jazz and Brazilian jazz with subtle flourishes which recall the Paris of the 1940s and '50s.

Speaking of the themes of their new album, Sund'ri Feeling write, “'Accords' is about Love, our love for life, traveling, heart-full experiences and the transcendence of everyday feelings. It is an anthem to beauty, peace and freedom.
Melodies full of lyricism, rich harmonies, dancing rhythms, improvisation and poetic lyrics serve our vision.”

Sund'ri Feeling is a duo consisting of singer Cendrine Cingala and multi-instrumentalist Richard Layan. Hailing from the French-speaking isle of RĂ©union, 680 km southeast of the African island of Madagascar, these music makers bring their joie de vivre into focus with danceable, highly textured jazz that begs for the lights to be turned low.

Cendrine Cingala began singing before she could walk. Sund'ri Feeling explain that she learned to do it while sitting on the bar in her father's club.

“All sorts of funky, groove, ethnic and dance music styles nurtured her imagination as she started dreaming of singing and dancing one day,” they write. “One of her sweetest childhood memories is of singing and improvising on various music styles, with her Dad playing the guitar. Her dream to sing has come true, and it's only the beginning!”

Richard Layan had a more traditional background, being classically schooled at music theory and piano from the age of four to 19. Having picked up guitar along the way at 11, he quickly found interest in jazz and improvisational music.

“Classical music and jazz were the music styles my family used to listen every day,” Layan writes. “I was that lucky boy! I played (and continue playing) many instruments (strings, horns and percussion) in many styles, like rock, pop, country, bluegrass, reggae, jazz fusion, jazz, mĂșsica popular brasileira, mĂșsica cubana, Indian Ocean music, creole music …”

Layan has been educated in music at the master level in France, Brazil, Cuba, and Reunion island with several well-known artists and improvisers.

“I had the chance to live in Brazil for a couple of years,” Layan writes, “and learned a lot about music there. Now I live on Reunion Island, where the local music is in strong expansion, mixing traditional rhythms and instruments with external influences from the whole world, and I'm proud to be a part of it!”

Soundwave releases new single '9 Lives'

The singer and songwriter of contemporary rhythm 'n' blues known as Soundwave has released his latest single track, “9 Lives.” The song has been proudly published on the Emmaculate Entertainment independent music label without interference or financial support from the corporate music industry. Slick, smooth, and endlessly stylish, “9 Lives” stands as proof that Soundwave has a niche carved out for him in today's thriving R-'n'-B underground music scene.

Soundwave cites as main artistic influences such staple legends of the genre as Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Usher, and K-Ci and JoJo. Outside the R-'n'-B category, he makes mention of Common, the Roots, Flyleaf, Childish Gambino, Blackstar, Switchfoot, and Linkin Park.

From this varied list of favorites, Soundwave's music is most similar to the songwriting of Boyz II Men and K-Ci and JoJo, yet still his own style and tone are too fresh and new for such comparisons to be significant. His vocals on '9 Lives' are the main attraction, though clever lyrics and an unstoppably classy keyboard accompaniment round out the song's mood, the entire track being founded on a heart-thumping back beat which provides deep and satisfying groove.

Speaking of his start in music, Soundwave writes, “Growing up, church was every Sunday and Wednesday night for me. I was naturally drawn to the choir. It was to hard to sit and watch. In high school I was in choir, and after graduation everything changed when I was introduced to music by Blackstar. My friends and I really got into beats and the culture. I've been lost in hip-hop ever since and don't plan on finding a way out anytime soon.”

Soundwave's aforementioned lyrical prowess means that his songs are infused with urban poetry. Each line is deliberate and finely crafted.

Asked to comment on the themes explored in “9 Lives,” Soundwave writes, “Mostly I want people to understand who I am and where I've been. This song and the others on the EP 'Exist 60' deal with separation from love, finding the strength to move on, and also embracing your past.”

Rapper La ' Vega releases new album 'Best of La ' Vega (2014)'

The rapper and songwriter known as La ' Vega has released her latest official album, “Best of La ' Vega (2014).” The album contains seven original La ' Vega songs for an approximate total listening time of 25 minutes, making for a comprehensive introduction to this rising star of the hip-hop underground for those not yet acquainted with her uniquely powerful style and sound. It has been released on the MVB Entertainment Music Group LLC independent record label. Prefaced by single releases earlier this season such as “Tipsy” and “Nappy,” her “Best of La ' Vega (2014)” album is sure to become the definitive La ' Vega record for fans old and new alike.

La ' Vega has listed as her main artistic inspirations Nicki Minaj, Nitti Scott, MC, Lil' Kim and Foxy Brown, all of whom hail from New York City. But the rapper's own style is grittier and closer to the heart of hip hop than any of the above with the possible exception of Lil' Kim, with whose urban poetry La ' Vega's lines and rhymes share an East-Coast edge that's sharper than that of Minaj, Scott, or even Brown.

Commenting on her new album, La ' Vega writes, “This is my second 'Best of' compilation mixtape. It's a collection of my most popular songs from 2014, the most purchased, streamed, and blogged about songs that were released in 2014. Because it's a compilation, this mixtape has a variety of songs and vibes to it.”

La ' Vega's first such comp appeared in March of 2014, titled, “I'm Here.” That record was also published under the MVBEMG label and is still available online containing nine songs from her best material of 2013. Yet as popular and successful as that first album has proven, tracks from her new EP such as “They Ain't Like Me,” “Pray for Me” and “Wake the Neighbors Up” are certain to grip a whole new wave of avid fans for this Dominican diva from the Bronx.

Ryveela releases new single 'Ghetto Prayer'

The singer and songwriter of reggae music known as Ryveela has released his latest single track, “Ghetto Prayer.” The track has been released on the Reggae Fever Innovations independent record label with neither the participation nor support of the corporate music power structure. Loaded with soul, spirit, and the genuine tones of the roots reggae tradition, “Ghetto Prayer” by Ryveela is warm and healing music for all the people of the world.

Ryveela cites as main artistic influences such legends of the reggae sound as Sizzla, Capleton, Bob Marley and Luciano. Ryveela's own sound and style are somewhere between all of these, having a cutting-edge feel and an old-school groove and vibe which runs throughout and makes it move. This dichotomy makes sense, too, coming as it does from a singer from Point Hill, St. Catherine just north of Spanish Town in Jamaica.

But sound is only part of his art. A large portion of “Ghetto Prayer,” like all music from Ryveela, is in the theme and message. His official bio reads, “Cognizant of the many talents already out there, Ryveela is making his mark by deliverance of his own style of conscious energies mixed with social commentaries. His main aim is to make listeners sit up and take notice. Ryveela wants to reach to as many people as possible.”

Fame is not the star's main focus, either. Rather, he wants to effect positive change in the world around him.

“By challenging myself to find topics that are reality-based and singing them to my target audience, topics that aren't clichĂ©, people will find my music inspirational,” writes Ryveela of his music.

Ryveela released his debut song, “Care No More” while previously signed to a Jamaican label. He writes music to help and mend, raise and support humanity at large.

“I am a conscious reggae artiste,” he writes, “who only promotes Love and respect to my fans. My songs have messages of upliftment and words of wisdom promoting hope to get out of our everyday struggles.”

Inspired by the voices of dancehall and reggae who came before, Ryveela is ready to take up his place among those who bring happiness through music everywhere. He writes of this, “Marley served as a voice in his time; music is meant for healing and good vibes. That's my mission, that's what I'm about.”

French electronica master DJ Pad releases new album 'Y'

The French composer of digital music known as DJ Pad has released his latest LP record album, titled, “Y.” The record contains no fewer than 14 original tracks from DJ Pad, for an approximate total listening time of one hour and 20 minutes, roughly twice as much music as a typical full-length record comprises. The popular DJ Pad, although well-known for publishing massive amounts of music at a time, has outdone himself with this latest record. It represents Pad's having released more than 100 official tracks in the term of a single year.

For his “Y” LP, DJ Pad cites Angerfist, Stunned Guys, Endymion and (“more recently”) Miss K8 as main artistic influences.

“Y” is the fourth LP album from DJ Pad since his emergence in late 2012, since which time he has published November of 2012's “Waiting to Be Discovered,” July of 2014's “Dubstep: First Strike” and “A Trip in My House, Part I,” June of 2014's “A Trip in My House, Part II,” and now his December 2014 release, “Y.”

Each of these fine records is in excess of an hour long and showcases the digital maestro in a different sonic character than does any of the others. Each official DJ Pad release has been proudly published on the 4000 Records independent music label, entirely without support from the corporate music industry. Pounding, thrumming, and blazing with color and creativity, “Y” by Dj Pad is perhaps the most cutting-edge collection of new material from a digital artist in recent memory.

What will not come as a surprise to Pad fans is that “Y” is yet another new facet of Pad's musical personality. “Y” is an LP made up of electronica tracks from the gabber subgenre, which is sometimes called “hardcore.”

“I've already released house and dubstep tracks,” writes DJ Pad, “but to finish this year (and to surpass the milestone of commercially releasing more than 100 tracks in a single year) I've decided to show another face of my musical personality – but not the last! I know that gabber is slowly rising from the underground but this is not why I've decided to release this compilation of my best tracks in this genre. It is just because I'm totally fond of this freaking epic style of music.”

“Y” by DJ Pad is available online worldwide. Congratulations go out from the world of electronica to DJ Pad! Writing and producing 100 songs in a single year is an achievement of titans.

Tiki Black releases new single 'Free Like Smoke'

The contemporary folk singer known as Tiki Black has released her latest single, “Free Like Smoke,” featuring Jo Bywater. The track is the most significant release from Black since her 2013 LP record, “Out of the Black.” Both releases have been published on the No Sugar Added independent music label. Sonorous, melodic and carrying on its shoulders a heartfelt narrative, “Free Like Smoke” is a poignant reminder why Tiki Black's fan base continues to grow around the world.

Parisian-born Tiki Black cites as main artistic influences Bob Marley, Georges Brassens, Alanis Morrissette, Tori Amos, Eboa Lotin, Dolly Parton, Barbara, and Charles Aznavour. Her own sound on “Free Like Smoke” is grounded in the traditions of folk music, yet surpasses these with modern nuances all her own for a tone that is incomparable to the styles and timbres of her contemporaries both inside the genre of folk music and out.

Speaking of the theme of “Free Like Smoke,” Black writes, “The single speaks of someone who finds it hard to get their head out of the sand and, missing the silver line, also misses the opportunity for personal growth. That is to own one's life and empower oneself to change it.”

The single comes from her acclaimed “Out of the Black” LP, which has garnered accolades from critics and listeners alike.

“'Out of the Black' is about coming out of hiding, being released, using the analogy of a birth with [the negatives of] pain and fear turned positive through creation,” she explains.

Certainly, there can be no hiding for Tiki Black now that the public ear has turned her direction. Spiral Earth writes of her, “The voice is the instrument that draws us in, it can challenge or comfort us, awaken us or lull us, inspire or reassure. Tiki Black has a voice that can do all of this and more … Warm, embracing and timeless.”

Junior's Cave lauds, “Tiki Black is the perfect poster child for what it means to be a genuine indie performer . Black's music speaks to a generation that needs a voice that knows their pain, joy, achievements, failures, and struggles. She sings from the heart, and Black's music pours out her soul to her listeners … This publication is in love with this artist's music.”

Glasswerk calls her music “Songs that tug at the heartstrings without ever giving the impression they were written purely to do so.”

Speaking of her start in music, Tiki Black relates, “I started to sing and write songs early but I never really thought of it further than something that is natural to beings, like breathing. Expression was not just about exorcism or exhaling, it was about creating something new from what existed, a sort of poetically multi-dimensional recycling where the end art would present the original from one of its hidden, yet beautiful perspectives. Little did I realise how impossible it would be for me to just keep it as a side passion.”

“Free Like Smoke” by Tiki Black features award-winning Folk/Blues/Americana music artist Jo Bywater. “Jo's music sensitivity and craft were perfect for this track and I am so grateful that she accepted to work on it with me” reveals Tiki. The single becomes available online worldwide 15 December 2015. Get in early, folk fans.

Singer-songwriter Valentine releases single 'Christmas Eve'

The singer and songwriter called Valentine has released the second of two new seasonal singles, “Christmas Eve.” The song has been released concurrently with his first single, “Snowflakes.” Like all material from Valentine, these singles have been proudly published entirely without financial or managerial support from the corporate music industry. Traditional yet unique, altogether catchy, friendly and familial, “Christmas Eve” by Valentine presents the sounds of the holidays in a way that truly deserves its name.

Valentine, whose music style cannot be expressed in terms of artistic influences or similarities, has called his sound “pop country jazz,” without special emphasis on any one of the genres. While his recent debut single, “Snowflakes,” sounds decidedly pop and country at once, “Christmas Eve” leans slightly more toward the country and traditional Christmas and country genres.

Both songs showcase Valentine's unlikely skill for blending sonic traits into new amalgams never before heard. This talent is largely how jazz figures into his highly creative mode of music making, the results of which are pleasantly original and warmly inviting.

“I wrote 'christmas eve' in memory of the farm I grew up on a few miles from the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah River,” Valentine relates.

He writes his song titles in lowercase out of humility to “the big storyteller and designer.” He goes on to explain, “This is where the world's first bluegrass festival took place. It's called Watermelon Park and it's right on the river. The story goes that Bill Monroe started the bluegrass genre
and then Flatt and Scruggs left Monroe's band and popularized the genre, starting with the Watermelon Park Bluegrass Festival.”

In the same tradition, Valentine seeks to begin his country jazz category of music in earnest.

“Bob Marley popularized Jimmy Cliff's new reggae genre around the time we were going to Watermelon Park, so my starting the 'COUNTRY JAZZ' genre is almost normal to me … I only hope that I am the one to popularize my genre, and not someone else. Hence, [I've written] a 40-song library with 30 pure country-jazz songs and 10 others that bleed into other genres like country rock, country radio and Americana ballads and homages to western two-step, rockabilly and bluegrass. They're all intended to illustrate how the pure country jazz is indeed a new genre. Country jazz is the natural outgrowth of the time and place and music of my youth.”

Also very much of note are Valentine's production principles, which throw out many contemporary habits and standards in favor of older methods which help him achieve his characteristic tone. This tone is natural and raw, without falling into what is popularly called “lo-fi” music. Joining the minority of true audiophiles, Valentine has returned to analog recording, and in addition has ditched digital reflexes such as gating and limiting the wavelengths of entire tracks.

Commenting on his studio process, Valentine writes, “The process of 'limiting' reduces musicality and dynamics, so I refrain from it. I also tune A to 432Hz to resonate healthfully in prime numbers like nature, as opposed to the exaggerated 440Hz originally implemented to give classical music more 'pop.'”

Valentine's current official bio describes him as “a philosopher philanthropist who has dedicated his life to solving the socioeconomic problems of our day. In his spare time he has written-produced-directed three motion pictures and recorded a library of 40 songs in Nashville, as well as a 50-song Broadway library.

“In order to attract attention to his vision for solving our problems, 10 of his songs are political and have accompanying music videos soon available on iTunes, YouTube and TheValentineAmendments.com, a site dedicated to Valentine's amendments to the US Constitution with video explanations filmed in Nashville in front of the life-sized replica of the Greek Parthenon, birthplace of democracy.”

Additionally, Valentine's site for commercial music may be found at ValentineSongs.com.

“Christmas Eve” by Valentine is available online worldwide. Be sure to also hear his debut pop-country-jazz single, “Snowflakes,” also available everywhere from the Web.

Rapper Ace Lover releases new EP 'Love Me'

The rapper, songwriter and music producer known as Ace Lover has released his latest EP record, “Love Me.” The EP is composed of an intro and three original tracks, each edited for play on public radio, for an approximate total listening time of 15 minutes. The EP is copyrighted 2014 Ace Lover Productions. Classy, cool and full of the endlessly fun styles of the old-school, “Love Me” by Ace Lover is a hip-hop record listeners young and old can agree on.

Ace Lover, who makes his signature brand of hip hop out of New York City, takes something from everything to get his characteristic sound. He cites his influences like a professional auctioneer at the podium.

“Hip hop, indie, psychadelic funk, doo-wop, reggae, '80s, underground, progressive, experimental... It would be way too many to list here. Total music geek.”

Tonally, Ace Lover's mode of rap music can be likened to few other artists. Vocally speaking, certain legends of the 1980s New-York scene such as Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane come to mind, yet Ace's background loops and music are derived from the romantic ballads of the '50s. The result is a unique, natural feel and groove that longtime fans of hip hop will enjoy as both a welcome innovation and a return to some of the most time-honored traditions in rap music.

Speaking of his roots in music making, Ace Lover writes, “As far back as I can remember, I always loved music. Just the way it made me feel. In fourth grade I played drums in the school band. I remember a childhood friend who passed away used to experiment with his mom's old 45s and create these loops. He wrote my first flow for me.”

Asked to describe the message and theme of his new EP, Ace replies, “Being that it has that whole doo-wop, '50s kind of vibe, I would say the message is 'Love.'”

Ace Lover's debut single was released in 2000. Originally discovered by independent executive-producer Phil Rust of Music Family, Ace released two LP vinyl records on the Music Family label which garnered a substantial amount of interest worldwide. After his contract ended at Music Family, Ace was quickly signed to Cajo Communications and continued to release music through Fat Beats Distribution. During his stint with Cajo Communications, he toured the USA and Canada, and was named one of URB Magazine's “Next 100” artists to watch.

“Love Me” by Ace Lover is available online worldwide.

Virtuoso Ɓukasz Adamczyk releases new EP record 'After Ego'

The multi-instrumentalist, virtuoso and music composer known as Ɓukasz Adamczyk has released his latest EP record, “After Ego.” The track has been proudly published as an independent release on the artist's own, self-titled music label without the participation of the corporate music industry. Eclectic, cool, extremely imaginative and more stylish than any other fusion record this year, “After Ego' by Ɓukasz Adamczyk is a collection of compositions any music fan can appreciate.

Asked to cite main artistic influences for his “After Ego” album, Adamczyk concisely lists: “My own experience, [Spanish surrealist painter] Salvador Dali, [acclaimed jazz and flamenco bassist] Carles Benavent, and [Apple, Inc. co-founder] Steve Jobs.”

His music on “After Ego” sounds – perhaps surprisingly – not unlike a collaboration of these four creative minds might sound on a record. It has the iconoclastic and revolutionary thinking of Jobs, the instrumental precision of Benavent, the dreamlike and unpredictable nature of Dali, and the underlying philosophies of the artist, himself, Ɓukasz Adamczyk.

Pigeonholing the record in a genre is not only difficult, but belittling to it in a way. It has been described as electronica, jazz, free jazz, fusion jazz, and “miscellaneous” variously, and it also contains integral elements of rock and alternative music.

Speaking of the themes of “After Ego” (the title of which is chiefly telling) Adamczyk writes, “It's mainly instrumental music so far, so any message is between the notes. For me, it's deepening my aesthetic roots, seeking new tastes when combining ingredients that seem far away from each other at first glance. The process is very intuitive, and I would like to take the listener for an inner trip just as I'm taken.”

The experience of his record is very much like traveling an unknown road. Its movements are sometimes uncanny, often novel, and uniformly eye-opening. Even the stylistic variations from track to track act as milestones which describe the listener's progress through the sonic landscape described by Adamczyk's music.

Polish-born Ɓukasz Adamczyk has been playing music since the age of six. He began on violin, then added piano to his repertoire, which was followed by drums, double bass, and bass guitar. He works as a session bass player accompanying mainly pop, world, and rock artists.

“I decided to work on my own music and aesthetics two years ago,” the artist writes, “and this EP is the fruit of that work. Seeking my own language in music and my own way in life became very important to me. As a session player I did not care too much about having a recognizable name outside, but having something to say as a solo artist makes me want to share my music worldwide, reaching out to all.”

“After Ego” by Ɓukasz Adamczyk is available online worldwide. Get in early. Very early.

Jazz Hamilton releases new LP 'Within Jazz and Romance'

The saxophonist and music arranger known as Jazz Hamilton has released his latest LP record, “Within Jazz and Romance.” The LP is composed of 11 original arrangements by Hamilton for an approximate total listening time of 45 minutes. It has been published on the Akustik record label as an independent release without the support of the corporate music industry. Widely varied, expertly and colorfully arranged, and showcasing Jazz Hamilton's stunning, unparalleled expertise with the saxophone, “Within Jazz and Romance” is one of the premier contemporary jazz records of 2014.

Jazz Hamilton cites as main artistic influences the genres entire of classical, jazz and Latin music, as well as the work of such legends as Marcel Mule, Sigurd Rascher, Coleman Hawkins, Paul Desmond, and Alfred Gallodoro. Fans of the above names will likewise hear similarities in terms of expertise and creativity in the exquisite playing and arrangements contained in Hamilton's own “Within Jazz and Romance.”

Asked to comment on the themes of his new record, Hamilton writes, “Romance is the main ingredient in a love relationship. Music is the universal language where emotions and memories are created. Music is also the way to tell a story without using a single word. Come with me in a journey
to the other end of the rainbow. Let's make music and love, not war.”

As for the title of his latest LP, he promises: “I will always be with you, 'Within Jazz and Romance.'”

Perhaps most importantly with regard to Hamilton's instrumentation on the LP, “Within Jazz and Romance” exhibits the virtuoso playing his very own, self-designed Revolution 65 Saxophone, complete with hand-fashioned ebony mouthpiece. His current official bio explains further:

“In 2011 Hamilton took a break from long tours to dedicate more time to the research, design and development of his own brand of professional saxophones. After two years of hard work, the Revolution 65 Saxophone was born. The instrument has enjoyed a very welcome reception in the professional field by saxophonists all over the world. During that time he also designed an ebony wood mouthpiece that is hand-carved by master craftsmen, especially made for the musician looking for the unique warm, full and organic sound that only hardwood can offer.”

Jazz Hamilton was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He began his professional music career at the age of 14 with the Caguas Jazz Workshop under the direction of Andres “Maco” Torres, featuring classical saxophone recitals for Puerto Rico's “Instituto de Cultura.” He later studied at Connecticut's renowned Conservatory of Music, where he majored in music performance under the tutelage of famous jazz Professor, Jackie Mclean.

He has performed with Red Rodney, el Maestro Tito Puente, and Giovanni Hidalgo, as well as with international artists such as Sammy Davis, Jr., Hilton Ruiz, and Jose Jose, among others. He has served as musical director for Marvin Santiago, Domingo Quiñones and Andy Montañez et al, and has performed solo in France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Central and South America, the Caribbean, throughout the United States, Canada, and in Mexico.

Eminent music engineer Bob Kats has said of Hamilton's playing, “Saxophonists be aware, this is the way it should be played.”

“Within Jazz and Romance” by Jazz Hamilton is available online worldwide. Fellow saxophonists should pay special attention to the warm, natural sound of his Revolution 65 instrument, showcased for the first time on this record.

Singer Valentine releases debut single 'Snowflakes'

The singer and songwriter known as Valentine has released his debut single, a seasonal tune for the holidays titled “Snowflakes.” The track has been proudly published as an independent music release entirely without financial support from the corporate music infrastructure. A second track from Valentine, “Christmas Eve,” has also been released by the artist for the 2014/2015 season. Warm, playful, and lightheartedly poetic, “Snowflakes” by Valentine is easily one of the year's most pleasant additions to the holiday repertoire.

A musical individualist to his core, Valentine cites no artistic influences but rather strives to coin his own sound. His signature style has been called “pop country jazz,” with each term carrying equal emphasis.

Elements of pop in “Snowflakes” make it immediately accessible and undeniably catchy, while fiddle and pedal steel guitar instrumentation lend familiar country overtones of the American tradition. Valentine's precise, yet deceptively simple songwriting and knack for blending genres in innovative ways hint at his underpinnings in jazz, yet the whole package comes off in “Snowflakes” just as easy and natural as a snowflake falling from the sky.

Perhaps the most attractive aspect of Valentine's “Snowflakes” single is the singer, himself, whose happy-go-lucky vocals and cheerful lyrics are plainly irresistible. As one such couplet from the song runs, “Snowflakes from the sky / kiss cheeks then say goodbye / no two are the same / but they all share one name.”

A short description of the song from Valentine's official website [link provided below] comments, “Valentine sings the song in high A to depict a child full of energy having fun in a snow-covered winter wonderland … Driving tempos, walking bass lines and snare-driven drums create an energetic shuffle that's very easy to move to.”

That the artist omits the use of a “kick” drum is also significant, a choice which keeps the song light and airy. A quintet of top Nashville sessions players provide riffs to accompany Valentine's singing.

Common to Valentine's other material, “Snowflakes” has been written and produced with an intellectual's zeal for detail, and with professional engineering by Roland Alvarez. This track, as well as “Christmas Eve” and other songs, have been recorded using analog technology rather than contemporary digital plug-in software, resulting in a far warmer, much more friendly texture and tone. Perhaps most interestingly, too, is this fact taken also from his official website:

“Valentine's songs all tune A to 432Hz to resonate healthfully in prime numbers like nature, as opposed to the exaggerated 440Hz originally implemented to give classical music more 'pop.' The result is rhythmic, musical fun that's very pleasing to the ear.”

Taylor James releases 'Good News' official video

The singer and songwriter of rhythm and blues known as Taylor James has released the long-awaited official video for his latest hit single, “Good News.” The single itself is part of a 2014 series from James which has included his acclaimed “Olde School” LP, the “A Taylormade Christmas” seasonal EP, the “Say It's Me / Living for You” single and instrumental version, and the “Good News” single and instrumental version. These have each been released in the winter 2014 season. Each of them has likewise been published on the Hearts of Gold Music record label. Spotless, jazzy, groovy, funky and full of the gospel tradition, Taylor James' “Good News” video is one of the best-produced and performed videos to come from this decade so far.

Taylor James (born James Albert Taylor) has cited James Brown and Quincy Jones as main artistic influences, both of which feature prominently in his own style and panache in his “Good News” video. Having been quietly made available for viewing online in late September 2014, and with minimal marketing or advertisement, the “Good News” video by Taylor James has already garnered close to 200,000 well-deserved views.

A gleaming, sunlit video with an extremely high production value and cast of performers, “Good News” succeeds at completing several jobs. It is largely political in theme, while remaining a work of gospel music at its heart. It is uplifting, positive and encouraging, and even manages to be somewhat educational.

Taylor James was born in 1953 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He is a graduate of Jackson State University with a degree in music and a minor in recording engineering. He has been writing, recording and producing music since the age of 17. James served as drummer and lead vocalist for Wynd Chymes, whose two LP albums are still in circulation online. His own first album, “No Way Out” appeared on the Great Southern Productions (GSP) music label in 1984. He wrote and produced music under GSP from 1976-1990, after which time he built his own studio and recorded such popular artists as Willie Clayton, Bobby Rush, the William Brothers and the Canton Spirituals.

Vferg releases new LP 'Jam'

The collaborative music project known as Vferg has released their latest LP record, “Jam.” The album is composed of eight original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 25 minutes. It has been released on the Conglo independent music label without the financial or managerial support of corporate music companies. Wildly creative, instrumentally ingenious, and more colorful than a sunrise in a hall of mirrors, “Jam” is an album true audiophiles everywhere can (and probably should) get behind.

Vferg cites as main artistic influences Pharrell, N.E.R.D., Jimi Hendrix, and Outkast, but the results of the group's collaborations far exceed the insight this small revelation can provide. While the name of the band is that of their bandleader, Vferg, their sound is a moving, shifting thing which depends on the persons involved at the time; hence, the title of their record.

In addition to the considerable talents of Vferg, himself, “Jam” (often stylized 'JAM') also incorporates the skills of such artists as Kellindo Parker, Freddy Fuego, Ava Raiin, Bradley Madsen, Compton Timberwolf, Sciryl Cooper, Paul-Anthony Surd, Jamilia Hall, George 2.0, Vicsun, Reginald Makerson, Richard Grant and Andy Baldwyn.

“'Jam' is titled that,” Jferg writes, “because it is the product of spontaneous musical experiences with great artists and singers. Most of my produced songs are the result of some kind of jam session and shared energy with friends and musicians in the moment.”

This, Vferg goes on to explain, is the modus operandi of the record in whole.

“'Jam' is a 'Creative Public Offering,'” writes Jferg. “My platform is one that aims to feel like a produced version of an open mic. A synergy between production and lyrics. I aim to inspire people to create and share their own Creative Public Offering.”

Though Vferg is a man unafraid to use his college vocabulary, he's a humble musician with a humanist's philosophy about the music he makes and how he makes it.

He writes of this, “I am just a guy that wanted to make music and share. I can't even read music. But as soon as I touch an instrument, I create with rapid velocity. I attract the energy and expertise of pro musicians and performers and we make audio magic.”

Neither is his music simply meant for music's sake, either. Vferg notes that music has properties people sometimes don't recognize. The songs on “Jam” are intended to do more than merely get people grooving.

“This music is healing music, too,” he writes, “because the songs are meant to remove you from the anxiety of daily life and provide you a with a creative adventure. [I call it] Music for Living.”

Taylor James releases instrumental version of latest single 'Say It's Me / Living for You'

The R 'n' B composer, singer and songwriter known as Taylor James has released an instrumental version of his latest popular single, “Say It's Me / Living for You.” The track comes riding the coattails of the original release, which came to the public ear just days prior complete with James' signature vocals, harmonies and characteristic singing timbre. It is part of a series of official releases from James late in 2014 that is led by a flagship LP, “Olde School,” and which have been received by his loyal audience with open arms. These remarkable tracks have each been published on the Hearts of Gold music label.

While the definitive “Say It's Me / Living for You” track has been turning heads since its release, the instrumental version is at least as riveting – absolutely worthwhile as a standalone music publication. As has been posited in music press elsewhere, the music of Taylor James is multifaceted and written, performed and recorded with top-notch quality, so that the instrumentation of his records deserve to be released even without his majestic vocal tracks. This is to ensure that true audiophiles might more fully be able to appreciate his remarkable music, which is easily overshadowed by the singing for which he has been renowned for decades.

Taylor James has cited as musical inspirations the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, and also the music mastermind, Quincy Jones. James' own sound and style are funky and groovy, earmarked by excellent songwriting and composition, and polished to a high shine in the studio that most producers are unable to attain. Lush, danceable and highly textured, his recent “Good News” single has become one of the most powerful singles of 2014, and is expected to continue to grow his fan base for years to come.

Also significant from James in recent weeks is his seasonal EP, “A Taylormade Christmas,” which is perhaps the most well-produced, written and performed Christmas music to have been published in the fourth quarter of 2014.

He wrote and produced music under GSP from 1976-1990, after which time he built his own studio and recorded such popular artists as Willie Clayton, Bobby Rush, the William Brothers and the Canton Spirituals.
