The rapper and songwriter known as Twin
Da Savage has released his latest LP record, “Strength In Loyalty.”
The record is composed of nine original tracks for an approximate
total listening time of 35 minutes. It has been proudly published on
the Savage Musik Group independent record label, entirely without
financial or managerial support from the corporate music power
structure. Based on the key elements and attributes of the “Dirty
South” subgenre of rap and hip hop, “Strength In Loyalty” by
Twin Da Savage is a collection of urban anthems from one of Texas's
most heavy-hitting rap artists.
Twin Da Savage cites as main artistic
influences only two names: Marshall Mathers (Eminem) and Lil' Keke,
the latter of whom is likewise from the Houston, TX area.
Intuitively, his own sound doesn't fall far outside these lines. His
back beats are packed with bass and his instrumental accompaniment is
left spare and spacious so that there's plenty of room for Twin to
move around – a chief necessity for this versatile urban poet.
Speaking of the messages related in his
songs on “Strength In Loyalty,” Twin Da Savage writes, “My
album relates to whats real and what most people goes through in
life.”
Originally born Derric Keller, Twin Da
Savage is a member of the Thorough Breadz or TBZ Gang, a crew of
rappers and musicians headed by popular hip-hop artist, Pyrexx. Twin
Da Savage has performed live at a wide variety of clubs and parties
in the greater Houston area, and has toured throughout the American
south with particular attention paid between Dallas and Louisiana. He
was signed in 2004 to the Da Block Entertainment music label, and has
tirelessly performed in Texas with the express goal in mind of
keeping Houston on the hip-hop map ever since.
With artists such as Twin Da Savage and
other TBZ artists blowing up the hip-hop underground, Houston stands
to remain in the spotlight for a long time to come.
