The rapper and songwriter of hip hop known as Nellagy has released his latest rap single, “To The Sky.” The single has been proudly published on the Spentopia Entertainment independent music label entirely without the financial or managerial support of the corporate music industry. Pumping with bass, rattling with rhythm and full of the slick style fans of the rising hip-hop star have come to know and love, “To the Sky” is an urban anthem that is sure to put Nellagy on the map once and for all.
Nellagy cites as main artistic influences such titans of the underground sound as Kanye West, Ace Hood, Lupe Fiasco, Drake, Big Sean and J Cole, in that order. Intuitively, his own manner of delivering lines and rhymes blends the easy-going groove of Kanye with the gritty perspective of Lupe Fiasco, touched off with tonal and stylistic attributes of Drake and J Cole for that smooth, cutting-edge finish which showcases Nellagy's attention to detail in the music studio. Like all Nellagy material, “To the Sky” is a masterpiece of writing, rapping, and studio production.
Speaking of the themes of his latest track, Nellagy writes, “This single, 'To The Sky,' is taken from my upcoming CD called 'That's How I Do.'”
His new CD is rumored to be particularly autobiographical – moreso than many rap and hi-hop records. Specifically with regard to this single, however?
“'To the Sky' is about the experiences of a new flame,” he writes.
