FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –
The French-Slavic singer and songwriter
known as Claudia Katarina has released her new LP album, “Sentiments
éternels” (Eternal Feelings). The record is comprised of 12
original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 45
minutes. It has been released with accompanying official music videos
for the singles, “Histoire a la con,” and “Mon kosovo.” A
return to the sounds of such chanteuses as Francoise Hardy, Sylvie
Vartan and Marie Laforet yet with a contemporary pop tone and feel,
“Sentiments éternels” by Claudia Katarina is one of the most
charming and heartfelt international releases of the winter 2013
season.
Claudia Katarina, a model who left the
photo industry in lieu of her music career, cites as main artistic
influences such popular French artists as Zaz, Vanessa Paradis, and
Serge Gainsbourg. Intuitively, her sound evokes the tones and moods
of each of these, though with her own character and groove.
Katarina's lyrical themes are often
darker than her accompanying music may portray, and her musical
poetry often turns to complex, mature themes that only rarely are
found in pop music. Being part Slavic, herself, she deeply feels the
sting of the Yugoslavian military conflicts and writes with a heavy
heart about them in songs such as “Mon kosovo,” which opening
track is nuanced with accents of Albanian and Serbian music styles.
Early successes from Katarina's
“Sentiments éternels” LP have been “Grande ou petite,” an
insouciant pop song with joie de vivre and youth, “Un nouveau
monde,” a funky, disco-flavored track about peace on Earth, and “Je
t’aime, je te déteste,” a shadowy, passionate song about being
divided between feelings of love and hate.
“Sentiments éternels” is one of
the most unique records to come out of the 2012 year, and is sure to
find itself in the favorite catalogs of music fans all over the
world.
“Sentiments éternels” by Claudia
Katarina is available online worldwide.
