Rapper D. Wright releases new LP album 'Verbally Abusive'

The rapper and producer of hip hop known as D. Wright has released his latest LP album, “Verbally Abusive.” The record contains 22 original D. Wright tracks for an approximate total listening time of over an hour. Like the rest of the official D. Wright repertoire, “Verbally Abusive” has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Bringing the best of the old-school sound, blended with futuristic flare and production value in equal parts, “Verbally Abusive” proves that D. Wright is a hip hop artist for the 21st century.

In addition to the considerable talents of D. Wright himself, “Verbally Abusive” also features the emcee skills of Smoke, Tee, Frost, Slick, and Samantha Espo.

Tampa, Florida's D. Wright cites as main artistic influences Biggie Smalls, Tupac Shakur, Kanye West, Jay Z, T.I., Lil Wayne, Usher, Michael Jackson, and Luther Vandross. Of these, his own style has most in common with the Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, and Jay Z. Nevertheless, much like these legendary artists, his style has less to do with emulation and more to do with putting carefully constructed urban poetry to pared-down back beats which never steal the limelight from the mic.

“I was heavily influenced by r&b, gospel and hip-hop,” Wright says, “but Tampa is so diverse that I hung out with people who listened to all types of music. My family was very music-oriented. I have an aunt who recorded gospel music, a few rappers, as well as a saxophonist and pianist. Rap was love at first sound for me, but it was always just a hobby.”

Rap was a hobby, that is, until such a time as D. Wright got some traction while working with the same Frost who appears on Track 7 of “Verbally Abusive.” They released “Holy Mother Mary,” currently available on Spotify. A few months later, Wright dropped his debut mixtape, “1318 Nassau Street.” Since that time he has shot official music videos and gone on the road with his act.

“It's a nonstop hustle,” he writes, and mentions how much his grandmother informs his musical aims. “[She] was a huge inspiration because I saw how many people depended on her. She did so many things for people and made sacrifices that never showed a reward. She would say, 'who cares if you doing good when I'm watching – it's about what you do when no one is looking.' In today's world I look up to people who are happy in life, people who accomplish their goals and improve their lives and others' for the better.”

And what's his advice to the next generation of music artists?

“Don't be something you're not just to be liked,” he says. “Be true to yourself and be true to your craft.”

Rapper E.D. Nix releases new LP album 'Community Service'

The New Orleans rapper and songwriter known as E.D. Nix has released his latest official LP album, “Community Service.” It has been proudly published on the Blvxk Supremc Creative Collective independent record label without the involvement of the corporate music industry. It features the additional talents of Jambalaya Johnny, Shayne Tone, T.Y., Kendal Banks, and Nem Venom. A rolling groove pumping with bass and packed with polished lines and rhymes, “Community Service” is an LP album to put E.D. Nix on the map not just in the bayou, but in the global hip-hop community at large.

E.D. Nix is a southern rapper who doesn't feel obliged to perform the “dirty south” sound. Asked to cite some main artistic influences, he writes, “Everything. I'm pretty open minded. I literally will give anything a chance. Artistic influences are too many to name. But I'm hugely influenced by where I'm from.”

His style comes largely from the mid-late nineties when lyric delivery reigned supreme, long before ubiquitous autotune and nonstop digital effects seized hip hop. Nix considers his music self-explanatory, which it is, and presents himself with a mellow, humble attitude, both of which he also is.

“I'm an open book on top of the private shelf,” E.D. Nix writes of the themes of his new album. “The knowledge is there, the substance is there, the lifestyle is real. I'm not perfect but I ain't stupid. This music provides a little substance with dope beats. I'm just telling real stories on some gangsta-ass tracks and people miss that shit.”

E.D. Nix can wax modest, but he's also a very successful artist in 2018 with much more to come.

“I'm not trying to change the world,” Nix says, “I'm just vibing everyday trying to put it together. I used to be in the in the 7th ward plotting on 6 figure 'licks.' Now I'm a major piece in a Fortune 100 company, and I own my own. Things could be so much different for me, but I get to make music, movies and do dope sh-t, and I think anybody that listens to my music should be able to grasp that perspective.”

Another source describes E.D. Nix as the “Self-made underground King of New Orleans.” In a review of his third solo release, an LP titled “Sözè,” the author says Nix “has developed into one of the budding stars of the entertainment industry. In Film Beaucoup de Force Nix stepped into the role of Music Supervisor. Since the August release of this short film, 3517 Law Street Productions and Nix's company, Grande Scheme GG, have worked tirelessly on such projects as Neutral Grounds, which provides cinematic visuals for 'Sözè.'”

In his hometown of New Orleans, E.D. Nix is most renowned for his spot as a radio personality on the area's first black-owned station, WBOK 1230AM. His Sports Revolution program boasts an average daily audience of over 60,000 listeners.

E.D. Nix's style has been called “influenced by the jazzy heritage of his hometown while having been raised in the classic nineties era” and notes that Nix has introduced what he calls “New Age Hip Hop.” Nix has ascribed his first two projects, “On My Way Home” (2011) and “Higher Earning” (2012) to this category.

Elsewhere Nix is described as “not your average 'rapper'” but also “an extremely shrewd businessman and very witty merchandiser.” The New Orleans hip-hop performer is supported by such brands as BXBC Luxury, the legendary DJ EF Cuttin, 2520 NYC, Hip Hop DNA, the Cigar Factory, Mixtape108, and the Urban Push Movement.

Rapper Bryce the Third releases LP album 'Internal Revenue'

The rapper and producer of hip hop known as Bryce the Third has released his new full-length album, “Internal Revenue.” It contains 14 tracks for an approximate total listening time of 45 minutes. It has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Clever, relevant, and bringing more rat-a-tat than the Fourth of July, “Internal Revenue” by Bryce the Third demands hip hop fans sit up and take notice of this surprise MC out of MI.

Bryce the Third hails from Inkster, Michigan. He cites as main artistic influences Eminem, the Notorious B.I.G., Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Andre 3000, Killer Mike, and Kanye West. His own style takes the solid-state basics of the old-school sound and embellishes them with contemporary elements for a blend which will appeal to hip hop fans from every walk.

But perhaps most importantly, Bryce the Third's songs narrate nonfiction.

Speaking for himself of his influences, Bryce says, “Just experiences. Things that I've been through personally or have seen.”

The integral nature of this in his songs cannot be overstated. He writes music about the conditions in which people live today, the trials they overcome, and the tribulations by which they are overcome. Neither are these fantastic “tales from the ghetto” listeners may find hard to understand. Bryce talks of difficulty getting out of bed with depression, constant media noise that one is bred to failure, the white-knuckle reality that there's only one grim alternative to holding on.

“First and foremost it's quality music,” writes Bryce the Third, “that's most important. Secondly, you know, I'm just hoping that people hear 'Internal Revenue' and learn to be okay with who they are. If the listener hasn't started the journey of looking in the mirror and accepting that person looking back, I hope that this tape can be somewhat of a push for them to start considering these ideas.”

Ultimately, “Internal Revenue” by Bryce the Third is hip hop which poses the argument plainly illustrated on its album cover: what's outside might not satisfy, and what's inside might be neglected.

“There's more to life than the external sh-t,” Bryce says. “Maybe I can introduce the concept of an inner drive to someone who doesn't know what that is.”

“Internal Revenue” by Bryce the Third is available from SoundCloud and over 600 quality digital music stores online worldwide now (links provided below). Get in early. Very early.

Dance singer Lizzie Blazquez releases new single 'Deep Inside of Me'

The singer and performer of top 40, pop and dance music known as Lizzie Blazquez has released her latest electronica single, “Deep Inside of Me.” An official music video for the popular single is also available for viewing online (link provided below). “Deep Inside of Me” has been proudly published as an independent release without the direction of the corporate music industry. Bearing elements of pop, hip hop and EDM, “Deep Inside of Me” is a track to put Lizzie Blazquez on the map for 2018 and beyond.

New York City's Lizzie Blazquez has all the hallmarks of a star performer, but she's managed to retain a modest outlook and an easygoing manner during interviews. Her music has appeared on CNN, Telemundo, and NY1, and gets significant airplay on WBON-98.5 FM/La Fiesta, WCWP-88.1 FM and OWWR, Old Westbury Web Radio.

Asked to cite some main artistic influences, she's deliberate in her response.

“Sometimes I don't know how to answer this question,” she says, “but when I write my songs I look for inspiration in my life stories and what I'm feeling. Now artists that I like, I like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Sting, Dolly Parton, the Cranberries, and so many others.”

Of these, her music has most in common with Madonna: Madonna has always incorporated electronic components, has always written music for the dance floor, and has always written uplifting, inspirational lyrics of independence and perseverance.

“For all of my career I've shared a message of positivity,” Blazquez writes, “to keep working and moving forward no matter what. I've made a lot of mistakes, but the only thing that matters is to get back up, keep working and to never stop, no matter what.”

This impetus runs throughout the repertoire of Lizzie Blazquez, connecting tracks like “Deep Inside of Me” to her early recordings. These include popular covers such as “Knocking on Heavens Door” by Bob Dylan.

“Just the act of showcasing your talents and fighting for them shares a message of hope to everyone,” says Blazquez. “It teaches an example to keep working on your projects, goals, and dreams and to never give up. Just like me, there are many others fighting for their goals and dreams, and it's inspiring.”

The current official bio of Lizzie Blazquez describes her as “a bilingual singer-songwriter and accomplished musician currently performing around the nation.” She has been variously talked about as “a fresh face with a strong heartbeat” and an “emotional core of musical talent that can’t be missed.”

“Deep Inside of Me” by Lizzie Blazquez is available from over 600 quality digital music retailers online worldwide now. Also don't miss the official music video, below.
