The DJ and producer of Latin electronic dance music known as Jason M has released his latest official single, “Mi Querencia.” The single is a tribute to Venezuelan icon Simón Díaz and features vocals by the famed Venezuelan singer, Kiara. It has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry on the Techno|logy Records music label. Pulsing, jiving, and bringing all the groove inherent to the southern Caribbean in the 21st century, “Mi Querencia” showcases Jason M as one of the most important Latin artists in recent memory and promises that he has plenty more where that came from.
Miami's Jason M cites as main artistic influences Chus and Ceballos, as well as Nic Fanciulli. Jason M's own sound takes elements from each of these and adds something fresh and unique for a result unlike anything today's music fans have heard before. Asked to describe the overall meaning of his new single, Jason M writes, “'Mi Querencia' is one of Simón Díaz's most important pieces of his career. I am very happy to have the opportunity to mix two totally different genres and very proud of the result. The lyrics are a masterpiece, sung by one of the most famous Venezuelan singers worldwide and recognized for her great voice, Kiara, and it is an honor for me to have her in this project, too.”
Speaking of his goals with his songs, Jason M talks about being evocative.
“From the moment I went to an electronic party,” he writes, “feeling the power of the bass, the surrounding sounds and the vibes of the people there I was hooked. Music can change my mood in seconds and I wanted to do that for other people with my music.”
Jason M had the honor of being the first DJ to play historical places in Caracas such as “Esfera de Soto” and “Obelisco Altamira” during his Technology Experience project. Jason M and Technology Productions also works with other organizations making donations to help people in difficult or dangerous situations in Venezuela.
