Emma Stenbeck releases new single 'Anymore'

New Zealand singer and songwriter Emma Stenbeck has released her latest single, “Anymore.” The track has been published on the Li'l Dog Records New Zealand music label. Sonorous, poppy, and laced with the upbeat old-school synth sounds of the eighties and nineties, “Anymore” is another example of Stenbeck's crystal-clear, heartfelt singing style, and of the continuing quality of Li'l Dog NZ releases in general.

The tone of “Anymore” is brighter than the bluesy, jazzy undertones of her previous single, “Something About You.” Stenbeck herself speaks of this difference saying, “I love to sing such a broad range of music and have idols in all genres so I am so happy to be able to showcase the different sides to me and my voice.”

Stenbeck has been lauded for the personal slant she gives her lyrics, adding character and soul to a genre populated by nonsensical, throw-away words.

“Anymore is about that feeling you get when you are questioning whether a relationship is still working,” she writes, “and what it will mean to either stay in it or move on. I think everyone has experienced the moments that are expressed in this song.”

“Something About You” kept the number one spot on the iTunes Vocal Chart for two weeks. It maintained the 14^th slot on the New Zealand Singles chart overall for the same amount of time. This track, along with her new single, “Anymore,” herald the upcoming release of her debut EP record, the title of which has not yet been published. Li'l Dog Records has stated that for this new album, “32 tracks have been worked on in the course of recording – with the only the very best tracks being selected for release.”

Emma Stenbeck releases new single 'Something About You'

The singer and songwriter from New Zealand known as Emma Stenbeck has released her long-awaited new single, “Something About You.” The track has been co-written and produced by popular NZ artist, Mphatic, and published on the Li'l Dog Records New Zealand music label. Classy, stylishly smooth and darkly sensual, “Something About You” by Emma Stenbeck is a pop single that will appeal to fans of any music genre.

Stenbeck cites a long list of music legends as main artistic influences that shows her fine musical taste. She includes Jewel, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Duffy, Lily Allen, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Etta James, Train, Elton John, Peggy Lee, and Gloria Gaynor.

“I could go on forever!” she writes.

Of the aforementioned, Stenbeck's tone on “Something About You” lies mostly between Amy Winehouse and Etta James, which is not as far a sonic distance as one might suspect. Her high-gloss, bluesy yet feminine crooning on “Something...” is perfectly paired against the tasteful, sonorous bass bumps played deep in the groove which form the primary musical accompaniment. Choruses are filled with tidal synths flowing in dark neon, violet colors and give Stenbeck's voice a velvet backdrop against which to sparkle.

“I have been working alongside a great producer and songwriter – Mphatic – to co-write this track,” writes Stenbeck. “We wrote this track along with many others we are working on that are to be released as an EP in the coming months.”

Speaking of the theme of “Something About You,” which is alternately titled “S.A.Y.,” she comments:

“This single talks about having that special someone in your life – who just has something about them that makes you feel calm and know that everything is going to be OK no matter what is going on in your life. It's a song about celebrating 'The Rock in Your Life' you can rely on! It's a song about love and appreciation for them and their character.”

Emma Stenbeck has been writing and performing music from a very young age and has made a name for herself in her native scene in Auckland and elesewhere. Stenbeck, her producer Mphatic and label Li'l Dog Records New Zealand have been proud and enthusiastic about their growing roles in the New Zealand music scene.
