Lars Alexander releases new EP 'Like an Animal'

The Norwegian composer of electronic dance music known as Lars Alexander has released his new flagship EP record, titled, “Like an Animal.” The record is comprised of six new, original tracks for a total playing time of approximately 21 minutes. A record of stand-up, standout verve and groove, “Like an Animal” is proof that Lars Alexander deserves a place among the best EDM artists working in the underground house music scene today.

“Like an Animal” is Alexander's most recent official release since his “Star Walking” EP, which appeared in May of this year on the heels of the “My Melodic Trance” EP, which hit digital shelves in January. This string of releases makes Alexander one of EDM's most prolific writers of the year so far. Still, the most impressive part about his music is that he is able to write and produce his albums with an unerring ear for striking power and beauty that maintains a consistent gorgeousness throughout the series. His beats are positive, active, and energetic, perfect for the nightclub and the dance floor, but also excellent casual listening for headphones around town.

Alexander is relatively new to his career as a musician, having retired at a young age from a wildly successful dancing career. He has been the Norwegian Dancing Champion six times, and has represented Norway in ballroom dancing competitions around the world for many years. Along with his wife, he has been dancing professionally on the popular television program, “Dancing With the Stars” for five years running.

Commenting on his change, Alexander writes, “After I stopped my competitive dancing career I had the time to start making music again, and I love it. Just like in dancing, I love how you have to be creative and passionate when making music. This is my fourth release, third EP, and I hope I can continue to develop and make music for many years to come!”

With nothing stopping him and a growing legion of fans, Lars Alexander is likely to produce many more records in the future, and they will very likely exhibit the same high quality as “Like an Animal.”

Lars Alexander releases new EP 'Star Walking'

Hot on the trail of his last extended play release, composer of electronic dance music Lars Alexander has published his latest EP record, titled, “Star Walking,” to critical and fan acclaim. The record is comprised of six original tracks for a total of 22 minutes worth of excellent dancing and listening time. It is the composer's first release since his EP “My Melodic Trance,” which was released in January of 2013.

“Star Walking” is a wave in the same set as “My Melodic Trance,” although perhaps a tad more vivacious and direct, which is saying something considering the high-octane beats and melodies of the earlier record. “Star Walking” is an adrenaline-charged, “get up and move” album to which fans can listen casually, but which will also require some physical movement on the part of the music fan. There is no feasible way to be in the room with a Lars Alexander record playing without taking part in the dancing. This is perhaps more true for “Star Walking” than it has been for any previous Alexander release, although it is certainly true for all of them.

This is at least partially due to Alexander's background as a professional dancer, the occupation which sometimes takes him away from his secret passion, the writing and producing of electronic dance music.

“I have always been involved in music,” writes Alexander. “I have been a ballroom dancer with a passion for trance and club music all my life.”

His goal in writing music is to be the catalyst other dancers need to truly express themselves.

He writes of this, “I try to make music that gives people a good feeling, and makes them want to turn up the volume and let go.”

Alexander names as main musical influences the likes of popular musicians Tiesto, Armind Van Buuren, and Sash.

His newest offering, the EP “Star Walking,” is available online everywhere beginning spring of 2013.

Dance club trance artist Lars Alexander releases latest album, “My Melodic Trance”

Norwegian trance music artist Lars Alexander has released his latest and greatest album, “My Melodic Trance.”
asfasdasd
Norwegian trance music artist Lars Alexander has released his latest and greatest album, “My Melodic Trance,” to rave reviews. The record provides approximately half an hour of traditional modern trance originals, each composed, recorded and mixed by Alexander, himself. There are seven tracks in all, each of which thumps at one of two standard beats, 93 or 140 bpm, for excellent dancing in the morning, at noon or midnight. Alexander's compositions are crisp and clean without sounding mechanical, over-digitized or over-produced, and each song is ideal for house parties, club dance floors or warehouse raves. Each of the seven tracks is colorful and uplifting, with none of the songs utilizing too many minor chords, which can bring the mood down and make for melodramatic listening. Rather, Alexander stays in the middle of the scale and writes very optimistic and jovial chord progressions, which inspire youthful exuberance, lively interaction between DJ and dance floor, and an overall feeling of triumph and exultation.

Lars Alexander is best known as Norway's six-time Latin American Ballroom Dancing champion. He participated in season eight of “Skal vi danse?” the Norwegian version of “So You Think You Can Dance,” and is currently taking time off from his career representing Norway in European and global dance competitions to return to his original love: creating trance music.

“I have always had a passion for music,” writes Alexander, “and especially trance. I love doing it and I hope I will continue to develop as an artist.”

Asked to name favorite artists, Lars Alexander names only two trance musicians, Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren, both of whom are gigantically popular in Northern and Central Europe, as well as worldwide. The poppy, catchy hooks of Tiesto and Van Buuren are obvious inspirations for Alexander's works, which include standout, attention-grabbing melodies that march in front of his music like a band leader, each of them representing the song entire like a miniature theme within a theme. It makes sense that his melodies should be likewise represented in the album's title.

Alexander's creative enthusiasm is genuine, his demeanor humble, but Alexander aspires to become one of trance music's underground greats. “I want to make music people will find interesting for many years!” he says happily.
