The singer and songwriter of roots
reggae known as Benjamin Maurell has released his debut solo single,
“Sticky Situation.” The single has been proudly published on the
Rudebwoy Entertainment independent music label without support from
the corporate music industry. An international roots music juggernaut
from the cultural epicenter of South Africa, “Sticky Situation”
by Benjamin Maurell is the newest reason for music fans around the
world to keep eyes and ears on Rudebwoy Entertainment.
Benjamin Maurell cites as main artistic
influences Bob Marley, Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie,
Toots Hibbert, Jonny Nash, and Paul Young. His own performance on
“Sticky Situation” is full of the rhythm and soul of Bob Marley
and the Wailers, as well as retaining the spirit and groove of the
ska tradition, not unlike that of Desmond Dekker and the Aces, or
Toots and the Maytalls. A corresponding music video for “Sticky

Benjamin Maurell is the young brother
of living reggae legend Harley Mukwevho, whose “Lion & Son o'
Lion Live in Johannesburg” concert and album were the most
significant events in the recent history of reggae music. Asked to
describe the general message his music has in store for his audience,
Maurell writes that his music is, “uplifting, motivational, happy,
