GroupMusic releases two new “Sing 'Em Again” Vacation Bible School albums

Shawn Rae releases American debut of cross-cultural interfaith Christmas album, 'A World Christmas'

The international recording artist known worldwide as Shawn Rae has released the American debut of his full-length Christmas album, “A World Christmas: Love Knows No Borders.” The album contains 11 tracks for 40 minutes of delightful listening time. A grand collection of traditional season classics, this LP is a gorgeous showcase for Rae's rich and soulful singing voice. Yet the album is still most notable for its cultural, spiritual and humanitarian principles, which are unlike any Christmas album ever released.

“The message in the album,” writes Rae, himself, “is about love knowing no borders.” It is the first Christmas album from the Muslim world made with respect for Christianity, and which utilized the services of Christians, Jews, Muslims and those of other faiths to complete it.”

A fine example of this collaborative work is in Rae's rendition of “Feliz Navidad.” Rae sings this classic in Spanish and English as has been done since the song was written in 1970. As his somewhat more tender version continues, however, he is joined by a chorus of others singing in an array of languages from around the world, including Hebrew, Arabic, French, Greek, Iraqi, Urdu, Italian, Chinese and still more.

Also of especial note is the inclusion of “Baby It's Cold Outside,” an award-winning song penned in 1944, famously singled out by Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leader Sayiid Qutb in '51 as an example of American lasciviousness and immorality. Rae, who is from a Muslim background, sings this beautiful duet with none other than singer, actress Deana Martin, a Christian, daughter of iconic Dean Martin. Deana’s previous duet was recorded with the great, world famous American singer, Andy Williams. The song is therefore an international reconciliation of great religious, cultural and historical significance worldwide.

Perhaps the most heartfelt and poignant track on “A World Christmas” is “My Grown-Up Christmas List.” Rae's singing is profoundly and strikingly personal in this track, particularly when he suggests a peaceful resolution to the world's conflicts: “No more lives torn apart, wars that never start – right would always win, and love would never end.”

Naturally, as longtime fans of Rae will intuit, “A World Christmas: Love Knows No Borders” is a musically elegant record. Fans merely listening for the pleasure of appreciating a great work of musical art are certain to be delighted. With arrangements by the renowned composer Charles Calello, and performances by Rae that highlight his exceptional standards, “A World Christmas” is a Christmas album that indeed sounds heavenly – but it is also a true miracle on earth, and that is what Christmas is about.

Northside Hustlaz Clic release new LP record 'Back on tha Scene'

Triple Threat release new single 'Wildin Stylin'

The conglomeration of hip hop and rap companies known as Triple Threat have released their latest and most significant official single, titled, “Wildin Stylin.” The track comes as a growing number of Triple Threat supporters continue to clamor for Triple Threat material. “Wildin Stylin” by Triple Threat has been released on the Uno Music Group record label.

The experimental and enterprising music label known as Mad-Hop Records has released their long-awaited full-length LP album, “V/A Mad13.” The album is comprised of nine original tracks for an approximate total listening time of half an hour. It has been meticulously primed as the flagship LP of the Mad-Hop Records music label, which is introducing the vinyl record album “V/A Mad13” as a global introduction to their staggering hip-hop talents.

G-shooz releases LP 'Gumshooz of the Streetz'

Rosa Bird releases single 'Fluffy Thang'

The singer and songwriter of rock music known as Rosa Bird has released his latest single, a politically charged rock epic titled, “Fluffy Thang.” The song has been released on the Dugdemona Records music label. At a considerable length of approximately five minutes, “Fluffy Thang” has much to say and explores a great many topics of social and interpersonal import, its tongue-in-cheek title notwithstanding. A rock song with pounding rhythms and chugging, grunge-era style guitars backed by epic keyboard work, “Fluffy Thang” is a powerful and intelligent song, an excellent introduction to this surprise artist at the close of an already remarkable summer for music releases.

Rosa Bird (whose moniker is reminiscent of Native American names) cites as main artistic influences the entire cast of '80s era Saturday Night Live, Miles Davis, Pink Floyd, the Isley Brothers, Burning Spear, Ziggy Marley, Mutabaruka, and Marilyn Manson, whom the artist says, “inspired my current release.” The SNL crew taught Bird to write witty punchlines, with which he populates his lyrics and rhymes.

The Marilyn Manson connection is also immediately apparent to fans of the genre, yet “Fluffy Thang” has much more in common with Marilyn Manson contemporaries, Faith No More, whose lyrical themes and style of musical composition are parallel to the aims (and achievements) of Rosa Bird's “Fluffy Thang.”

When asked to speak candidly with regard to the topics explored in his music, Rosa Bird is happy to oblige.

“My music,” he writes, “is intended to give a different perspective on political and social matters, to challenge the status quo – 'business as usual' positions and opinions – to speak truth about issues, to promote vertical thought processes for the listener, and to initiate social change.”

If this list of lofty goals sounds perhaps too grandiose, the listener is urged to hear the music itself.
