Cursees Connect release debut self-titled EP

The Canadian indie rockers known as Cursees Connect have released their debut self-titled EP album. The record has been independently published on the Cursees Records label without support from the corporate music industry. The “Cursees Connect” EP comprises six original tracks for an approximate total listening time of half an hour. It is preceded by their popular “Locked Lips, Loose Spell” single release which heralded the impending publication of the debut album. The EP has been highly anticipated in Canada and abroad since before that time.

Cursees Connect cite as main artistic influences Radiohead, Silverchair, Wintersleep, Hayden, 311, John Mayer, Wilco and Coldplay. Their own sound is a melange of attributes gleaned from these artists which do not so much mirror them as seemingly bloom from evident inspirations. The tracks on “Cursees Connect” can themselves be surprisingly disparate in terms of tone and style, each stemming from an emotion requiring a rhythm, riff and groove all its own to be roundly communicated.

Even so, there remains an overarching “Cursees Connect” -ness which holds the EP into a well-braided and consistent whole. The band's remarkably unique and creative songwriting bears enough complexity to furnish listeners with weeks and even months of replays, enough to tide the most avid fan over until Cursees Connect's inevitable full-length record hits digital shelves.

The official Cursees Connect website describes the band as “an indie rock band from Fredericton, NB. Sometimes edgy, sometimes spacious, sometimes sexy and sweet, their songs are propelled by driving bass groves and soaring melodies, creating a dynamic and passionate blend that has been energizing audiences throughout New Brunswick.”

Cursees Connect are Mathieu Emond, Bryan Harn, Curtis Smith, and Lindsay Brin.

The “Cursees Connect” EP is available online worldwide. Get in early.
