The island singer and songwriter known
as Abbi-K has released her new official video, “Happily Ever
After.” The video has been long awaited by fans of the musician
since the release of her debut LP record, “HARD (Heaven's Advocates
Riding Didactically)” hit online shelves around the world in winter
of 2013. Her “HARD” album features such popular Abbi-K singles as
the title track, “Hard,” “Let Love and Peace Reign,” “Dance,”
and “Happily Ever After.” As with all Abbi-K releases, the
official video for “Happily Ever After” has been published on the
rapidly growing Stile Records independent music label.

Abbi-K has cited as main artistic
influences John Legend, Lauryn Hill and Israel Houghton. Blending
these three artists together to approximate the range between them
gives a good idea of what Abbi-K's music is like. Her repertoire has
strong, catchy elements of pop mixed with brightly colored, upbeat
intonations of reggae and Caribbean sounds, while her themes often
include uplifting and inspirational topics not unlike those of Israel
Houghton.
For longtime fans of Abbi-K, this last
bit is unsurprising. Raised on Antigua in the Caribbean's Lesser
Antilles archipelago, Abbi-K began her musical career by teaching
herself to play keyboard, guitar, and drums at the age of ten.
Shortly thereafter, she joined a local Christian singing group in
which her many musical talents were polished. She added live
performance to her considerable list of skills and became widely
known for her naturally raspy, powerful voice.
After moving to New York at the age of
17, Abbi-K became a worship leader at several churches while working
with her brother, Kareem Herbert. Together they took up the mantle of
church music directors and in 2009 released what would be Abbi-K's
first commercially available music album, “Beginnings.”
After becoming involved with non-profit
organization New Beginnings, Abbi-K co-wrote and performed her
single, “Stand Out” at the group's grand finale concert, which
also featured International Grammy Nominee gospel artists, Da’
T.R.U.T.H and the Ambassador, among others. Her performance was aired
on major radio stations all across Antigua and remains available for
viewing online today.
It was also at church that Stile
Records producer Karl Marrett heard Abbi-K’s voice and signed her
to the label, leading to the production and global distribution of
her popular debut album, “HARD.” The LP features a collection of
inspirational melodies spanning a variety of genres and notably
includes “Happily Ever After,” for which her new video has been
released worldwide.
The official video for “Happily Ever
After” by Abbi-K is available everywhere online.
