The Professionals release new LP 'Never Scared'

The Colorado rappers known as the Professionals have released their definitive LP record album, titled, “Never Scared.” The album boasts an impressive 20 original tracks for over an hour's worth of contemporary hip-hop listening. Autopsy Boys release new single, 'Crushing on Cynthia Leech'

UK punk band Autopsy Boys have released their latest single, “Crushing on Cynthia Leech.” The single has been released on the Yorkshire-based 0605 Records music label. It appears on the Autopsy Boys 2012 LP, “Def Elements,” and has been released with an official music video, available for viewing online everywhere.

Like other music from these British punk rockers from the old school style, “Crushing on Cynthia Leech” is dark, fun, upbeat and danceable, though slam-dancing will prove more effective than, say, the foxtrot or the cha-cha. Their pared-down style is coarse and direct, with no frills and no nonsense to get in the way of some very straightforward punk rock played in the classic tradition.

“Our main influence are the Dwarves,” writes Autopsy Boys, “but we love all manner of thrash metal, hardcore punk and '80s synth pop. Too many influences to mention.”

Part of the charm of Autopsy Boys and a large part of their extremely colorful character stems from their bizarre and unlikely roots. They weren't thrown together in a high-school music class.

“We started making music for a friend's low-budget horror movies,” they comment. “Video games and horror movies are the only things in life that really matter!”

Intuitively, the official music video for “Crushing on Cynthia Leech” is a horror short with an extremely simple premise: two attractive young ladies in undergarments making out while they tear one another apart with their hands, teeth, et cetera. Autopsy Boys videos have been known for their gore, having often been labeled, “Goriest music video in history,” only to have the title stripped away by a newer, gorier Autopsy Boys video. In keeping with this tradition, there is an excellent chance that “Crushing on Cynthia Leech” will be the goriest music video the music fan has seen.

JazzIs releases new LP record, 'Evolution on the One'

“I had a mid-western upbringing,” he writes. “I grew up with Al Greene – Bobby Debarge was like a little brother. My best friend is Bernard Ware, the famous bass player Wilbur Ware's son. I have been in the entertainment Industry all my adult life and have worked with all the greats in various media productions: Tony Curtis, Bob Hope, Lou Rawls, Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, etc.”

With a history such as this, it is perhaps no wonder that “Evolution on the One” is such a masterpiece of modern jazz. One has only to hear a moment of it to know that a great work of art has been created.

Illadelp releases new single, 'Father's Love' featuring Kismet Henderson

Rapper Illadelp has released his latest single, titled “Father's Love.” In addition to the performance of Illadelp himself, “Father's Love” also features the talents of Kismet Henderson. It has been released on the Red Carpet Records music label.

The sound of “Father's Love” is classy, bluesy, full of soul and groove and packs lyrical punch that recalls artists such as Tupac Shakur and KRS One. It is a deeply sincere song that declares Illadelp's undying devotion to his daughters. Cool, jazzy piano chords are set off by a flute played in the Arabic style, giving the song a smoky, exotic undertone. Illadelp's delivery is direct, clear, intelligent and poetic, and the addition of Kismet Henderson's brilliant treatment makes the track soar. Illadelp was raised on the streets of North Philadelphia. His prominent stage name comes from the slang, 'ill,' and Philadephia. His sister Clairessa often challenged him to rap about things she would point out to him at random to train him at the art of freestyle rap. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after high school and served as a sergeant, stationed in Okinawa.

He has performed at various venues, including but not limited to the Martini Lounge in San Diego, “The Arts Garage,” “The Shed,” the “Coast 2 Coast Industry Mixer,” and the “IStandard Producer Showcase.” He has recorded with ML The Truth of 100 Drums Production in Jackson, MS, and with Zaq and Mike from Mike and Ike Studios. He received his first placement under the direction of DJ Truuf in 2011 as his song, “I’m Ready” (feat. ML The Truth) was selected to be on the Converse Allstar Mixtape Vol. 2, which has received global attention and acclaim. His popular tracks, “Up In the Club” and “Ride With Me” are in full rotation on SwuvRadio and Mix1620, both hosted by DJ Truuf.

Frequency Divider releases new EP 'Retribution'

The industrial music artist known as Frequency Divider has released his latest EP record, titled, “Retribution.” The album is comprised of six original Frequency Divider tracks for an approximate listening time of half an hour, making “Retribution” a comprehensive treatment of his repertoire that easily approaches the depth of a full-length release. It is his most significant official release under the Frequency Divider name.

“Retribution” by Frequency Divider is categorized variously as electronic, industrial, darkwave, and post-punk music, but most commonly as EBM (not to be confused with EDM). EBM is a subgenre of music with elements of post-industrial music, electronic dance music, and what is sometimes referred to as “synthpunk.” It is extremely danceable, often very intellectual music, both of which attributes are exemplified well by Frequency Divider's “Retribution.” The album is heavy-hitting, healthy music for both the listener's mind and the dancer's body.

Frequency Divider himself cites Decoded Feedback and yelworC as “similar” to his own sound, but has said on many occasions that he is “primarily influenced by movie directors, such as Neil Breen, Coleman Francis, etc.”

Speaking candidly about his work on “Retribution,” the DC / Virginia-based artist writes, “The last album I published (under a different pseudonym and band name) was released in 2003. Over the years, I continued to write but didn’t publish anything. I’m really liking some of the newest material I’m writing, but to do so, I feel as though I should release my archived material that never made it to the light of day.”

This archived material was written between 2003 and 2013, and includes more than 200 minutes' worth of Frequency Divider music. Fans new and old, therefore, have more than a few lucky stars to thank.

While FD's lyrics are carefully penned and often discuss social and political issues, he insists that his aims are musical at heart.

“I don’t have any particular messages,” he writes, “and the project as a whole is sort of one giant meta joke than no one is likely to understand.”

Don't believe him. Fans of industrial and EBM music all over the world will grok “Retribution” better than a gourmand understands silverware.

Kenny Hectyc releases debut EP record, 'Inside Outer Space'

The music artist from the United Kingdom known as Kenny Hectyc has released his long-awaited debut record, the “Inside Outer Space” EP. The EP includes six original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 26 minutes. These tracks include Kenny Hectyc mainstays “Let Loose,” featuring the talents of Liquid Architek, “Fly Tonight,” featuring the combined force of the Scribes, and Hectyc's slam-dunk closing track, “Back 2 Bassics.” The EP also includes three “Let Loose” remixes, the “Mainline Mussy Remix,” the “Embassy Remix,” and an instrumental remix, all of which also feature the inimitable Liquid Architek.

Speaking candidly about the style of his debut record, Hectyc writes, “My EP is rooted in house, which also reflects a combination of my musical influences from UK funky and deep house to hip hop. The themes of the EP's anchor single are also important to Hectyc's mood and tone.
