Rapper Illadelp has released his latest
single, titled “Father's Love.” In addition to the performance of
Illadelp himself, “Father's Love” also features the talents of
Kismet Henderson. It has been released on the Red Carpet Records
music label.
The sound of “Father's Love” is
classy, bluesy, full of soul and groove and packs lyrical punch that
recalls artists such as Tupac Shakur and KRS One. It is a deeply
sincere song that declares Illadelp's undying devotion to his
daughters. Cool, jazzy piano chords are set off by a flute played in
the Arabic style, giving the song a smoky, exotic undertone.
Illadelp's delivery is direct, clear, intelligent and poetic, and the
addition of Kismet Henderson's brilliant treatment makes the track
soar. This may be the first Illadelp material many music fans will
have heard, but it is certain to prove the tip of the spear.
Illadelp was raised on the streets of
North Philadelphia. His prominent stage name comes from the slang,
'ill,' and Philadephia. His sister Clairessa often challenged him to
rap about things she would point out to him at random to train him at
the art of freestyle rap. He enlisted in the United States Marine
Corps after high school and served as a sergeant, stationed in
Okinawa.
He has performed at various venues,
including but not limited to the Martini Lounge in San Diego, “The
Arts Garage,” “The Shed,” the “Coast 2 Coast Industry Mixer,”
and the “IStandard Producer Showcase.” He has recorded with ML
The Truth of 100 Drums Production in Jackson, MS, and with Zaq and
Mike from Mike and Ike Studios. He received his first placement under
the direction of DJ Truuf in 2011 as his song, “I’m Ready”
(feat. ML The Truth) was selected to be on the Converse Allstar
Mixtape Vol. 2, which has received global attention and acclaim. His
popular tracks, “Up In the Club” and “Ride With Me” are in
full rotation on SwuvRadio and Mix1620, both hosted by DJ Truuf.
