The composer and producer of electronic
music known as Nicko Bellic has released his new, self-titled album,
“Bellic.” The record comprises nine original tracks for an
approximate total listening time of 40 minutes. It has been proudly
released independent of support from the corporate music industry on
the NickoBellic Music record label. It is Bellic's most significant
official release to date and currently represents the definitive
Nicko Bellic LP album.
Bellic's official Facebook page cites
as his “favorite” music acts Deadmau5, the Expendables,
Faithless, and Cypress Hill. These do not give a round understanding
of his own sound, however. The music included on “Bellic” is
soaked in jazz, blues and drum 'n' bass, with an overarching basis on
electronica. His tones are reminiscent of Moby's titanic “Play”
record, in that the “Bellic” LP is endlessly classy, cool, and
smooth. Fans of electronic music from before the dubstep craze will
find a good friend in the Nicko Bellic record.
Bellic hails from the oft-underrated
music hotbed of Salt Lake City, Utah. He has been an outspoken
advocate for independent music and liberal digital distribution. His
fans are likewise outspoken as well as loyal, drawn to his creative
use of instrumentation, back beats, and cleverly chosen samples. The
high production value of “Bellic” shows clearly that his talent
for working out a melody line is paired also with ample chops as a
studio engineer.
Previous to the present release of
“Bellic,” Nicko Bellic was known for his collaboration with
WorthIsBorn and DopeThought, DropInOcean, which was published on the
SLC-based MakeMind record label. In contrast to the groovy,
brass-filled tunes of his self-titled LP, DropInOcean has built a
reputation for their rare blend of R 'n' B, EDM and hip-hop music,
many of the best attributes have been carried into his solo project.
