Rapper WalKat releases eight singles on Think Tank Ent. LLC

The vocalist and songwriter of hip hop known as WalKat (often stylized WALKAT) has released eight single tracks on the Think Tank Entertainment LLC music label. The tracks, “Can't Cope,” “Boomboombap,” “Swaggup,” “Murdaman,” “Chinese Store,” “Cold Street Speech,” “Jason Mask,” and “Jewelry Game” have been published in the period spanning late 2013 to early summer 2014. This octet of singles represents the largest body of material to be officially released by WalKat since his most recent duo of LP albums.

These full-length records, “Da Now” and “Now On,” appeared on digital music shelves around the world in December of 2013, featuring a combined approximate listening time of over two hours across 36 original tracks. Both LPs were published on the Think Tank Ent. music label, formed in 1997. Being both part of the cutting edge and part of the old school, WalKat has returned with more of his distinctive, heavy-hitting hip-hop style and masterful urban poetry.

WalKat hails from north Philadelphia. His official MTV artist profile states that he began rapping in 1988. He cut his hip-hop teeth by freestyling verses to beats from Lady B on Philadelphia's W.H.A.T. AM radio (currently at 100.3 FM) which he recorded on cassette tapes at the age of 13. Since that time, WalKat has been an avid connoisseur of hip-hop music and an important personage of the urban underground, performing live onstage for over fifteen years. He has been known for loudly voicing his contempt for “the current state of hip hop,” and founded Think Tank Ent. in part to help raise the quality of rap and urban music everywhere. His songs have been labeled “new-school classics” by fans on the East Coast and West Coast of America alike.

WalKat has cited as main artistic influences such legendary performers as Public Enemy, Rakim, KRS-One, Gang Starr, Geto Boyz, Scarface, Compton's Most Wanted, Wu-Tang Clan, and the Juice Crew. His music is available in over 750 online music outlets worldwide, including iTunes, Amazon and more. His singles and albums can be found on Pandora, the Music Genome Project.
