The composers and purveyors of digital
music known as UFODJs have released their latest full-length album,
“Space Sound.” The LP record is composed of 10 original tracks
for an approximate total listening time of one full hour. It has been
published on the Sunday Makes Records independent music label. With
elements of ambient, electro house, progressive house and other
genres from the popular front of digital music, “Space Sound” by
UFODJs is one of today's best examples of the contemporary studio
sound, and a record by one of the few bands claiming a home other
than earth.
UFODJs cite as main artistic influences
Armin Van Buuren, Fatboy Slim, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Ben Liebrand,
Prince, and the Prodigy. Yet this is where their familiarity with
other DJs and musicians allegedly ends.
Upon being asked, “How did you start
getting involved in music?” the UFODJs respond succinctly, “We
learn from Human.” When questioned regarding the overall theme and
message their new LP record might have in store for fans and new
listeners, UFODJs reply, “We landed. We are aliens not robot.”
Their official website maintains this
as the literal truth, also (link provided below). Even when
lengthened from the acronym, UFODJs, their name is consistent with
this background. These disc jockeys are from Ultra Funky Origins. The
duo comprises musicians U.V and U.I [sic], who are described in their
official bio as having come to Earth in the 1960s during the
popularity of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and David Bowie.
“Bringing with them sounds from a
distant future,” their bio reads, “the peculiar visitors UV and
UI went on a mission to prepare the world for the music that's to
come. Disguised in human suits, they assimilated themselves as one of
us, traversing the world to inoculate people with their strange gift
of music. And through the untold number of lives they crossed, they
had inevitably influenced popular culture in an alternative history
we were never taught in class.
“In their latest exploit, they are
aliens pretending to be humans pretending to be aliens, a clever
scheme to finally walk the earth in their own skins while sharing
their music to everyone.”
“Space Sound” by UFODJs is
