FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –
The purveyors of hard rock music known
as Trauma Storm have released their debut LP record album, titled,
“Damage Is Done.” The record is comprised of 13 original tracks
for an approximate total listening time of 50 minutes, making for a
roundly comprehensive introduction to this electrifying crew from
the United Kingdom. It has been released on the Trauma Digital music
label. A high-octane, mystifying, melodic and aggressive rock record,
“Damage Is Done” stands to prove that Trauma Storm have a
combination of power and soul that will knock the wind out of metal
fans from around the world.
Trauma Storm cite as main artistic
influences an eclectic mix of disparate, yet related sounds. Their
official Facebook page shares little about the band's members,
history or musical background, but they do take a moment to give a
description of their tone.
“Our music is a mix of Nickelback and
Black Label Society,” they write, “with a touch of Metallica.”
Though it may be difficult to imagine
what a mix like this might sound like, the truth is that the record
sounds better than this. Trauma Storm's vocals are far more
emotionally profound than those of Nickleback (and at least as
skillful as those of Metallica's James Hetfield). Their guitars are
soaring and full, like a sonic flood washing through their sound, and
their drums are tribal, primal and pounding. Bass lines on “Damage
Is Done” move through the scale effortlessly and act as far more
than a mere accompaniment to their percussion.
The most impressive thing about Trauma
Storm, however, is their sheer honesty. This is clearly a band who
cares deeply about the music they're making, and their songs are
written with white-hot beats, coldly striking melodies, and the
mortality of mankind in mind. Songs like “One Foot in the Grave,”
“Droppin' Like Flies” and “Nothing but Ash” have grim
undertones, flickering with images of the afterlife. Songs like “Ride
the Storm” and “Battlestations” balance this deathly mood with
the kind of electricity that makes the listener want to live hard and
gloriously, though, and the result is an album hard rock fans
absolutely won't want to miss.
“Damage Is Done” by Trauma Storm is
available online worldwide.
