The rapper, songwriter and performer of
hip hop known as J. Cobb has released his new single, “Vegas.”
The track has been concurrently released with an official music
video, publicly available for viewing at J. Cobb's official website
(link provided below). Both have been proudly published on the Stone
Group Records LLC independent record label. Bringing the best
elements of pop, rock, and hip hop to the turntable all at once,
“Vegas” is clear proof that J. Cobb and Stone Group Records are
names to watch in coming months and years.
J. Cobb cites as main artistic
influences such titanic names as Eminem, Jay-Z, Nas, Tupac Shakur,
the Notorious B.I.G., Andre 3000, T.I., Snoop Dogg, and Wiz Khalifa.
While this distinguished list shows a great deal of taste on the part
of J. Cobb, it does little to ready the listener for his actual style
on “Vegas.” Elating, entrancing, party-inspiring and full of
verve, Cobb's new single is a hip-hop track unlike any other.
Asked to describe the main theme of his
new single, J. Cobb writes, “Don't be scared to dream. Take
calculated risks and it's possible to create the life you want to
live.”
This solitary quote sums up the
artistic character of J. Cobb fairly well, and especially so when
taken in conjunction with his new “Vegas” video, which colors him
as a fun-loving, intrepid young man with real joie de vivre in his
soul and plenty of music in his heart.
Part of the secret behind Cobb's
fearlessness and sense of adventure is a background which begins in
Detroit and includes time in both California and New York City.
Classically trained in piano since the age of four, the endlessly
creative Cobb began his first production company at 20 years old. His
lyrics run the gamut from club rallies to social commentaries,
bringing partygoers and revolutionaries together on the same dance
floor.
J. Cobb's current official bio
concludes by saying, “As both the life of the party and the voice
of reason, J. Cobb creates a sound and a perspective you don't want
to miss.”
“Vegas” by J. Cobb becomes
available on 22 May 2015. Pop, rock and hip-hop fans should get in
early.
