The singer and songwriter known as Luke
Underhill has released his new EP record, “Atlas.” The EP brings
six new Underhill tracks for an approximate total listening time of
half an hour. It has been proudly published on the Rags Records
independent music label without the influence of the corporate music
industry. The most significant Underhill release since his breakaway
surprise 2013 hit, “Back to November,” “Atlas” is evocative,
melodic, and poised to bring the music of Luke Underhill to listeners
around the globe.
Luke Underhill cites as main artistic
influences the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Jason Mraz, and John
Mayer. In terms of similarities, his own style lies closest to the
latter two, and fans of both Mraz and Mayer are certain to be
enthusiastic with all of Luke Underhill's repertoire and especially
with this latest “Atlas” EP.
Speaking of the themes of his “Atlas”
record, Underhill writes, “There are many ways to live your life
and you can find answers in many different ways and places. Sometimes
you need help, direction and guidance. Just like when you're
traveling to a destination, sometimes you need to refer to an 'Atlas'
for directions and guidance to help get you there.”
Luke Underhill is an up-and-coming
young musician from the Chicago area. His “Atlas” EP is the first
of two extended-play albums scheduled to drop from him in May 2015,
the second being an unplugged version of “Atlas” with a release
date of the 19th. “Atlas Unplugged” will feature all
of the tracks on “Atlas” EP except one, but contain two more
songs in total.
Speaking of his start in music,
Underhill writes, “I started watching concert videos when I was
nine years old and my parents started taking me to Springsteen
concerts as they are big 'Bruce' fans. I remember thinking how cool
it would be cool to do that. I starting taking guitar lessons, then
wrote my first song at 14. Then songs starting flowing as my way of
expressing my emotions, frustrations and feelings growing up. I
started exploring every genre of music and it has become big part of
my life and always will be regardless of where my music career takes
me.”
“Atlas” by Luke Underhill is
available online worldwide beginning 12 May 2015, produced by famous
UK producer Stuart Epps (Elton John, Robbie Williams, George
Harrison, Oasis).
