Ecclesiastical singer-songwriter Jonathan Phillips releases LP “Praise of the World”

Jonathan Phillips, the famous singer-songwriter of worship and praise music from Atlanta, GA, has released his latest LP record album, “Praise of the World.” The long-playing album is comprised of 13 tracks over a full hour's worth of high-quality music, each track written with the expressed and sole intent to exalt the Christian God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

The style of music delivered throughout Phillips' album is surprisingly and refreshingly various. His own singing style can be as delicate as a Luther Vandross ballad, or as gravelly and full of power as Jon Bon Jovi's, but this variance in his texture depends upon the mode of music Phillips penned for the particular song in question. An early track on “Praise of the World” sounds not unlike the youthful exuberance of pop-punk favorites, Blink 182, but he much more often sings directly to his Lord and Savior in overtones reminiscent of Jovi's hit single, “Bed of Roses.” Phillips' gospel epic, “You Mean More” is positively classic in its reprise, booming out with the same exultant, righteous ecstasies of God that made gospel music from the American South famous worldwide, and it does so for the same reasons: the artists' devotion and undying love for the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Speaking plainly of this newest collection of modern psalms, Phillips himself writes, “This album is a praise and worship album that will take listeners into the very presence of God. It's very high energy and inspirational.” Indeed, it is the inspiration that produces the very core of said energy.

In addition to his ecclesiastical music journey, Jonathan Phillips is also the CEO of the “Keep It Real Tour,” which visits schools all over America. His stated purpose and goals for the tour are stated as “Educating, empowering, and encouraging the youth to win at life.” Phillips has an outspoken, personal concern for the youth of today, and works to change the world for the better in all his endeavors.

“Praise of the World” by Jonathan Phillips is available online everywhere beginning March 4 of 2013.
