The music label known as Allegro
Worldwide has released their newest music sampler, titled, “Brown
Eyes Riddim,” to widespread critical and fan acclaim. The album is
comprised of nine original tracks with variously modern reggae styles
and tones, all of which follow the theme of a romance, either
requited, denied, or having passed on, making for a remarkable
compilation with an entirely fascinating, soul-stirring heart.
Each track is based upon a consistent
foundation, a chord progression that is universal to each of the
other tracks, each song being exactly three minutes and 59 seconds
long, for a total of 35 minutes' listening time. Each of these
renditions has unique lyrics and unique performances by a different
artist, so that the listening experience is fresh and fun from start
to finish. It includes “Her Body” by Asher Thomas, “Sweet So”
by Mel C, “She Said She's Gone” by King Tappa, “Come Closer”
by Valene Nedd, “Crazy Love” by Shadowflow, “Crazy” by Jodian
Pantry, “See You” by Kenny, “Empress” by Dwayne John, and
“The Greatest” by Shaney Shotti.
All the artists on “Brown Eyes
Riddim” are startling talents in their own right. Of especial
notice, however, are musicians Asher Thomas, Mel C, Valene Nedd, and
Jodian, each of whom is making waves in the Caribbean music
underground and mainstream as well, and whom spearhead the record
with their fellow excellent artists providing explosive and equally
gorgeous additions.
The record is the latest official
release from newcomer music label and website Allegro Worldwide and
“I Am Allegro,” respectively, the mission statement of which is:
“to promote Caribbean music – from fresh faces to icons of West
Indian culture – and doing this by presenting relevant material
which includes music videos, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews
with industry players, and articles about artists and musicians.”
Their new LP “Brown Eyes Riddim” is
a blazing success and one that no music fan should do without.
