Country music singer-songwriter Greg Susoreny releases debut self-titled EP

The singer-songwriter of county western music known as Greg Susoreny has released his debut self-titled EP, “Greg Susoreny,” on the Aqua Blue Records music label. The record contains six original tracks for a total of 24 minutes' worth of listening. “Greg Susoreny” by the artist of the same name is a small treasure of heartfelt romance ballads that has all the genuine timbre and tone of classic country western, and magically avoids sounding the least bit derivative. A new voice and style afloat in a sea of look-alike, sound-alike country records, Greg Susoreny is a clear standout in the first musical quarter of 2013, and one no fan of country music should miss.

Susoreny's unique sound comes partly from the manner in which he writes his songs, and partly from the instrumentalists who help realize them.

”I’ve always been a poet,” writes Susoreny. “Rhymes come easy to me, and I can clearly hear the songs in my head even though I don’t play an instrument fluently. I have an arranger’s brain and really enjoy the entire recording process.”

By far the largest portion of singer-songwriters play guitar or piano, which yokes their songwriting to their own instrumental capacity. Susoreny can hear the songs in his mind's ear clearly, and can communicate them to musicians who collaborate with him to bring the music to life. Which musicians, though? The best.

“Greg Susoreny” features the performances of Nashville's top-notch session players, such as Jonathon Yudkin (Rascal Flatts), Danny Parks (Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn), Jay Vern (Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood), Wayne Killius (Aaron Tippin, Toby Keith, Big & Rich), Jim Hyatt, Jon Vogt, Dennis Wage, Curt Ryle, Mike Durham, Bruce Boughton, and Sara Beck. As a result, Susoreny's dreamlike compositions not only sound entirely fresh, but also perfectly produced.

Naturally, the production of the album is also the work of Susoreny's imagination. He explains his start in music with a musing, almost wistful note.

“I first set up a recording studio in Miami and started producing an artist,” he explains. “But I felt the need to utilize my own creative mind, and started writing songs. I developed a true passion for the songwriting process. I’ve always been a businessman, but I found peace and honesty in songwriting. I use music as a way to escape from the everyday stresses of life.”

Susoreny is himself the founder of Aqua Blue Records, and directly managed every aspect of the creation, production, and release of his record. If you want to hear what one man's dreams sound like, there are few – very, very few opportunities as pure and untrammeled as this beautiful little EP.

“Greg Susoreny” by Greg Susoreny is available online everywhere, spring of 2013.
