Rapper Texas P releases new single 'Problems'

The rap artist known as Texas P has released his latest single, titled, “Problems.” The track is the most recent in a long string of heavy-hitting urban anthems from Texas P that stretches back to 2001. “Problems” is an explosive and explicit track with a gritty, booming sound and a vicious edge that showcases Texas P to be a poet nobody will be pushing around any time soon. The song is direct, intelligent, and chock-full of groove and grind.

Careful listeners will hear a wide variety of influences in P's razor-sharp lines and rhymes. This stems from an eclectic mix of artistic tastes. He names as favorite acts the likes of Stevie Wonder, Ghetto Boys, UGK, Tupac Shakur, The Notorious BIG, Luther Vandross, and Barry White. While this may seem like an unusual amalgam of tastes, it is the myriad styles of his preferences that creates what some have termed his “Southern style with an East Coast flow.”

Originally from the Fort Worth area of Texas, Texas P is known as one of the founding members of TBC, the Texas Baltimore Connection, which rap group has also featured fellow Texas artist Donnie M., “Hard Knox” Valentine of Baltimore, “Poison” Stevenson, and “Scar” Ross. Texas P's debut mixtape, “Stonewall,” appeared in 2002, which he performed as the opening act for such names as Ludacris, Jay-Z, Freeway, Peedi Crack, Young Gunners, Dru Hill, Bow Wow, and B2K.

He went on to release “Hit 'Em Up, the Mixtape Vol. 1” in 2004, which featured friend and collaborator DJ Arab, “Hit 'Em Up, the Mixtape Vol. 2” in 2006, which featured DJ Double ii, and “I Want To Be A Millionaire” in 2010, which bore the popular title track and single, “Billionaire,” and saw the return of DJ Arab to Texas P's music.

Texas P's single, “Problems,” is available online worldwide beginning spring of 2013.

His LP “The Understatement” is also planned for forthcoming release.
