Taurus Damond releases new EP 'Late Audition'

The artist known as Taurus Damond has released his latest EP record, titled, “Late Audition.” It is comprised of six original tracks for a total running time of approximately twenty minutes. A sleek, cool hip-hop album with clever lines and rhymes, solid back beats and a genial attitude, “Late Audition” serves as an excellent introduction to this up-and-coming artist.

Damond cites as main artistic influences a surprising variety of musical legends, such as Kanye West, The Beatles, Jay-Z, Electric Light Orchestra, Common, and DMX, but grew up in Texas with a wide exposure to blues and soul. He has since relocated to the music hotbed of Hollywood, CA, where he has found a place in the entertainment industry.

“I got into music at a very young age,” writes Damond, himself. “Being around other artists, I wanted to start writing music and share my message to the world.”

Damond's music is more than mere entertainment, however. His themes are empowering and uplifting. His personal experiences and perspectives allow for an upbeat, intelligent point of view that sees life as an open door, however difficult it may at first appear.

He writes of this, “My music shares a positive, inspirational view to the world through the eyes of my life. I want people to realize through hard work and dedication your talent will take you so far in life. And no matter how many times you fall down, you have to get back up and keep fighting.”

Fighting is something Damond knows intimately. His career as a cavalry scout took him on two tours of duty in Iraq from 2006 to 2010, where he earned his Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air-Assault Badge, and a bevy of others. He has been working towards musical victory since 2007 when he began writing songs, and released his first mixtape in 2010.
