KrisG184 releases new single '2.30am'

The United Kingdom's hottest new brass musician, KrisG184, has released his latest single, “2.30am,” to widespread fan and critical acclaim. The track features KrisG184's flawless bass trombone stylizing, a jumping back beat, and synth melody lines that intertwine with KrisG's brass more smoothly than braided silk.

KrisG184 (AKA Kris Grayer) has been mixing music since the age of 12, at which time he used old-school turntables and soon won a local DJ competition. At 18 he was awarded a position at Julliard School of Music in New York to study music technology. Nine months into his program, he left school to pursue his music career as a professional bass trombonist. He was introduced to Jay-Z, Beyonce, and the great Tupac Shakur. As a trombonist he has worked with many legends, such as Elton John and Adele. He recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios while playing with the London Symphony Orchestra. He has performed at several of the most titanic venues in existence, such as England's Wembley Stadium for a crowd of 90,000, the Netherlands' Amsterdam Arena for 45,000, and England's Royal Albert Hall with Adele.

When asked to cite some main artistic influences, KrisG184 lists David Guetta, BB King, Miles Davis, Katie B, Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Trombone Shorty. He is originally from Kansas City, MO, but moved to New York after the tragic murder of his father. KrisG184 spent a hard five years on the streets, mingling with rappers and other musicians who influenced his sound, before winning his spot at Julliard and going on to become a professional musician.

Asked to expound on the message his single might have in store for listeners, he writes, “It is about how precious life is, and why everyone must enjoy themselves as much as possible because good times won’t last forever.”

“2.30am” by KrisG184 is available online worldwide.
