Leigh Schindler releases new single 'Which One'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The universal talent from Southern California known as Leigh Schindler has released her new single, titled, “Which One.” The single is the latest official release from Schindler since her enthusiastically received music-video cover of Amy Winehouse's “You Know I'm no Good,” published in September. The “Which One” single is the first chance for Schindler's steadily growing cadre of fans to purchase and download Leigh Schindler music since her debut 2012 EP, “Self-Titled.”

Schindler cites as main artistic influences such artists as Amy Winehouse, Regina Spektor, The Bird and the Bee, and Ani Difranco. The effect these legends of singing and songwriting have had on her own creativity is evident in terms of vocal style and stage panache, but Schindler's moods often shift more to the alternative rock genre (like Difranco) rather than to the pop-jazz of Winehouse or pop-folk of Spektor.
Her tone is genuine, classy, and often tinged with elements of the blues. For listeners unacquainted with the Leigh Schindler sound, her off-the-cuff video rendition of Duffy's “Syrup and Honey,” shot in a continuous live take with saxophonist Tony Sangiacomo, is a sweetly remarkable introduction. (Another hidden gem, her cover of Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good" with Sangiacomo on sax, Will Borza playing trumpet and Eric Kalver handling percussion, may be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra-mpKYVqjc).

Schindler's lyrical content is often personal in nature. She writes that the themes of her new single, “Which One,” are about, “Those moments in life when your heart and mind don’t agree, making you question your actions and your beliefs. We all have capability of being happy, angry, sad, confused – and we must learn to embrace all aspects of ourselves. Learn to embrace your crazy!”

A born entertainer, Schindler has been making music since childhood. “As a little girl I always used to run around making up songs about anything and everything,” she writes. “Life was a musical and things just fell into place.”

Schindler is perhaps best known for her work in Hollywood as an actress, but her musical career is quickly gaining traction. Born in San Diego, she is a graduate of the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, as well as of the Boston Conservatory of Musical Theatre in Massachusetts, where she first became inspired to begin her musical efforts in earnest.

“Which One” by Leigh Schindler is available online worldwide beginning 22 November 2013.
