FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –
The Italian singer and songwriter known
only as Ground and Leaves has released his latest LP record album,
titled “Our Moods.” The record is comprised of 12 original tracks
for an approximate listening time of 43 minutes. A true independent
record release, it faithfully continues the style and tradition of
the early indie music artists and marks a place for Ground and Leaves
in the annals of modern folk music history.
The sound of Ground and Leaves is warm,
natural, and recalls music from artists such as Nick Drake and Bob
Dylan. The artist himself cites influences in broad groups, saying,
“[I appreciate] folk, indie, country music, and artists like Mason
Jennings, Elliot Smith…”
“Our Moods” is mature music for
introspective and intelligent listeners, but also calming and
soothing atmosphere music, suitable for the home at virtually all
hours of the day. To call it “mood music” is entirely
appropriate, as the album is very aptly named. It is not all about
emotion, however, and the hub of “Our Moods” is the web of
intelligent phrases and ideas threaded throughout it.
Concerning the themes and topics of the
album, Ground and Leaves writes:
“I write about war, love, life, and
hope. Some songs talk about the sadness and frustration in seeing the
bad reality that surrounds us, while other songs talk about the
beauty around us that we should defend and appreciate more. I don’t
know if there is a message but I hope to make listeners think about
what they’ve listened to, even if for a little while.”
“Our Moods” is the third offering
from Ground and Leaves. “Grain of Sand” appeared in 2012
showcasing Ground and Leaves as a ukelele performer, bearing only two
tracks on which he is not accompanied by the island instrument. “The
Red Stone” followed in 2013. Both records are available at
jamendo.com and may be freely downloaded.
“Our Moods” by Ground and Leaves is
available online everywhere.
