FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –
The Los Angeles rock crew known as
Sidecar Bandits (feat. Sam the Armenian Comedian) have released their
new LP record album, titled, “Get on the Bus.” The album is
comprised of 10 original tracks for an approximate total listening
time of half an hour. It has been released on the New Volume Music
record label. A pared-down, straightforward debut with raw, classic
rock grooves and a punk-rock tonality, “Get on the Bus” showcases
Sidecar Bandits as a tongue-in-cheek group with a performance-art
mentality and tons of creative soul.
Not unlike old-school alternative
favorites, the Frogs, Sidecar Bandits are largely based on a vocal
performance that would have made Andy Warhol proud. These vocals are
performed at a high level of intensity by Sam the Armenian Comedian,
who gained fame as an interviewee and regular telephone guest on the
World Famous KROQ's flagship “Kevin and Bean Show.” Their
combination of guitar, drums, Sam the A.C. and various other unlikely
instruments produces a sound and style that is not only wildly
engrossing, but also surprisingly intellectual in a
Stooges-meets-Velvet-Underground way, their themes often inculcating
social awareness on a variety of topics.
Sidecar Bandits is an alternative rock
n' roll band led by Joe Kane, a singer songwriter who plays guitar,
bass, and keyboards. The band includes Randy Collins on drums and Sam
the Armenian Comedian on vocals. Their first LP, “Who R U,” was
influenced by the guitar-driven sound of the White Stripes and Alice
Cooper. Their lyrics speak about the social norms of a changing world
dependent upon technology and self-gratification. Both “Who R U”
and “Get on the Bus” have been drawing attention from both local
and college radio. The three piece band have created a passionate
sound of social awareness and raw humor.
