Riley releases 'Who Am I?' EP

The songwriter and performer known as Riley has released his new flagship EP record, titled, “Who Am I?” The album is comprised of six original tracks written, performed, recorded and produced by Riley, himself (sometimes billed as Riley X) for an approximate total listening time of 30 minutes. The album has been released on the Maximus Records Limited music record label. A jazzy, bluesy album full of soul and groove, “Who Am I?” by Riley is one of the most intriguing and beautiful albums to be released this decade.

Riley himself is a citizen of the United Kingdom. He has been playing music for over 30 years in a wide variety of capacities. At nine years old he received his first guitar. He played the saxophone for five years, as well as the tenor horn and the baritone trombone at Wolverhampton's Heath Park School. By 13 he had entered into the serious study of music theory, particularly that of the jazz and classical genres. He would continue these studies in earnest for the next four years.

Later he gained a four-year employment with the Zip Theatre Company as a session player. He relates the experience as one of the most enjoyable of his life. From here he went to the Kuumba Arts Movements organization. Today, he plays in various modes for youth musical workshops, music therapy for the elderly, and young offender institutions. His performances include such disparate styles as classical and Bhangra.

He has played venues all over the world at scores of well respected venues. He has appeared on BBC programs such as the children's show, “Blue Peter,” and the popular series, “Surprise, Surprise.” He has acted as a music manager and has excellent abilities as a recording artist, producer, engineer and masterer as well.
