Sabry El Koshairy releases 'Back in Time'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The Egyptian-born musician known as Sabry El Koshairy (often billed as Sabry Elkoshairy) has released his latest music titled, “Back in Time” to rave critical and fan reviews. The music showcases all of the old Sabry El Koshairy talents as well as some new ones, whereby fans new and old are certain to be delighted. The music has been distributed on the MondoTunes network worldwide to a largely Arabic listening base.

Interestingly enough, El Koshairy has been living in the Netherlands for many years running, since he was married there in 1991. He is a well respected singer, instrumentalist, music producer and engineer, and runs his own popular recording studio where he records all manner of musical art, particularly jazz. In addition to his vast singing talents, he is also an accomplished guitarist and pianist. His personal goal in life has been to mix the sounds and styles of all corners of planet Earth into one coherent, pulsing mass of sonic creativity.

“I am crazy about integrating different music cultures together,” he writes. “I've traveled and performed as a singer to many places in the world. I've been lately born again to make a lot more music and collaborate with good artists from all over the globe.”

El Koshairy is best known in the Middle East for his 1980s pop music, for which Egypt was “not ready for” by El Koshairy's own account.

“My ideas were criticized, my new genre of music was rejected, it was simply very different and shockingly new,” he writes.

Nearly two decades later, his idea of blending western and oriental music has become an international music trend.

That gives me enough satisfaction,” El Koshairy writes. “For myself, I do not need more recognition. I know I was at least one of the very first founders of that genre of music, if not the very first in the Middle East.”

Back in Time” by Sabry El Koshairy is available online worldwide. See also the original 1985 video for his hugely seminal pop track (perhaps the first Egyptian music video) “Ya Postagy (The Postman)” here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FP4eej4QIY.
