California rap duo GP'z release definitive record 'Street Album'

The rappers and songwriters known as GP'z have released their definitive full-length record, titled, “Street Album,” to widespread fan applause. The long-awaited record contains fully 17 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of over an hour. It has been published on the Support Street Music record label. This comprehensive collection of GP'z tracks showcases the standout talents of GP'z members Khan Gotti and Propayne James to a T, and serves as an indelible reminder that the hip-hop scene will never die.

Citing as main artistic influences the likes of legends such as Tupac Shakur, E-40, Tech N9ne, Krayzie Bone, and Ice Cube, Propayne James and Khan Gotti began recording the GP'z project in late 2009. In a show of titanic creative force and urban poetry, Propayne and Khan completed their record in under a single month. Tragically, however, fans have had to wait for more than three years to enjoy this majestic work of art.

“Due to personal circumstances,” writes Gotti, “the album was lost. Now recovered in its entirety, it is being released for the first time as Support Street Music's first full album.”

Upon being asked to describe the group's musical background, the GP'z write, “We started rapping to beats as young children and have always had a passion for making music. As cousins, we both’re doing our own thing, and then we finally came together in the end of ’09 to create the 'Street Album.'”

The “Street Album” is a heavy-hitting rap disc chock-full of groove, rhymes and lines, but it isn't all strictly fun. The GP'z write intellectually viable and socially conscientious material in which any professor of cultural anthropology would take interest. Topics range from life in urban America to politics and even philosophy.

“Being from the street doesn’t mean being a man and handling your business,” writes GP'z. “There is too much party music out there for the rap genre – this is something to make you think. Conscientious street music!”

Fans of hip hop and rap everywhere owe it to themselves to give this overdue amazement a proper listen.

“Street Album” by GP'z is available online worldwide.
