Primanelle releases solo self-titled EP record

The famous dancer and rapper known as Primanelle has released her new, debut, self-titled solo EP record, “Primanelle,” to rave critical and fan reviews. The album is comprised of five original tracks for a total approximate listening time of 16 minutes. The album stands as early proof that Primanelle's rising musical star has yet to reach its apex, and that this performer has even more vivacious energy than her previous material has showcased.

The sound of “Primanelle” is a crossroads of musical subgenres that includes rap, dance, electronica, urban pop, and hip hop. Primanelle cites as main artistic influences such acts as the Spice Girls, TLC, Brittany Spears, Aaliyah, and Alanis Morissette. Elements of each of these appears audibly in flashes throughout her sound. The overarching effect is one of feminine mystique born of modern life in the bustling metropolis, full of rhythm and sass, and is sure to please longtime fans of Prima J, the popular duo of which Primanelle made up half.

As Prima J, Primanelle and her cousin made music under the Geffen / Interscope records label. Their single, “Rock Star” has over 20 million viewers on YouTube, while their 2008 single, “Corazon,” currently boasts over 12 million (and climbing). They performed the song “Gotta Lotta” for the Disney Channel original movie, “Jump In!,” earning themselves a key spot on the movie's soundtrack. Prima J also famously starred in Baby Bash's hit music video, “What Is It.” They have cameo appearances in the direct-to-DVD film, “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish.”

Speaking of her new solo career, Primanelle says, “After [my work with Geffen] I decided to take some time off and began writing and producing my own music. My music mixes genres and I hope to reach many of my fans with my new high-energy sound.”

“Primanelle” by Primanelle is available online worldwide.
